i love thisplacefor lunch! consistent, flavorful with just the right amount of spice. enchiladas and quesadillas have been our favorites here. the conchas are great too.

rolled the dice, hit the jackpot. started my mid-life crisis restaurant tour with this unlikely looking stop on hwy 99w in central tigard. it was a warm afternoon, close to lunchtime and the lot was packed. service at the counter was friendly and fast. the manager took my order, a beef torta, he turned and said something in spanish to a waitress standing next to him, she looked at me and chuckled.

i am certainly not a culinary expert by any means and had never eaten a torta or even known of their existense. frankly, the waitress probably could have brought me anything from the menu and told me it was a torta and i would be none the wiser.

i waited in the dining room for just a few short moments. the torta was served on a huge toasted roll, it just about filled the entire basket. lifting the top of the roll i found a generous portion of seasoned beef topped with fresh shredded cabbage, avacado, pickled jalepno pepper, tomato and cotija cheese crumbles. a smoky-peppery sauce was provided in a squirt bottle, not sure what it was but it added a pleasant zip and just the right amount of heat.

i ate the whole friggin thing.

thisplaceis a 10 and i will be back.

very good. moving to portland from california, i've had soem trouble finding real mexian places. thisplaceis the real deal. they even have a panadaria. the food is excellent and portions are ridiculously huge. great selection of salsas and hot sauce.

a favorite new place. we tried eating here the other day on a recommendation from some friends. yum. then we came back again a few days later. the mark of a good mexican foodplaceis their burritos -- the burritos here at sanchez are freakin' huge! only thing they need are napkin dispensers at each table...

is that a baby or a burrito?. thisplacehas runny beans and huge plates of food. i enjoyed the salsa and the flavors of this packed place.

great authentic mexican. i grew up in the yakima valley, where the population is mostly mexican. i ate delicious home made mexian food all the time when i was young. i've been looking for a spot here on the westside that has great authentic mexian and i've finally found it at sanchez taqueria. i love the taco trucks as much as the next person, but sometimes i want a sit-downplacewith the same kind of authentic home-cooked taste. sanchez is such a place. the food is delicious. the only issue is that it can be busy and there might be a bit of a wait because of this. its worth it. if you care about authentic food at all, give this a try.
