not that good. out of 5 stars:
chips and salsa 4 stars
taco 2 stars
chili realano 2 stars
tamale 3 stars
beer 5 stars

our expectations were high because of recommendation from others, but very dissappointed, will not return. service was excellent.

i love this place for lunch! consistent, flavorful with just the right amount of spice. enchiladas and quesadillas have been our favorites here. the conchas are great too.

good authentic mexican food. don't forget about the sweet breads in the back. grab a try and start filling it up and take to the counter to purchase.

what happened. being going here for years last time 2weeks ago. tonight the prices where high, the tortillas were flour instead of corn. limon slice instead of lime and the charizo and carna were dry. i don't mind a price increase but the quality has dropped. they would not be the third best taco in portland based on what i had tonight

freaking tasty!. i eat here once in awhile when i need a psudo-authentic fix for mexi foods. amazing, always great service, the beans are a bit runny, but delish. the tortas are like food baby inducing! love it. i love ordering some carnita meat to go and taking it back home. hits the spot everytime!

bad food. ordered two chili rellenos. there was over 1/4" of water on each plate causing rice and beans to become soup. when i showed this to the mgr and asked for enchiladas instead she no exchanges, no refund... we were out of luck... i know now why they take your money before they deliver the food. dont go here, food is junk and service is substandard.

rolled the dice, hit the jackpot. started my mid-life crisis restaurant tour with this unlikely looking stop on hwy 99w in central tigard. it was a warm afternoon, close to lunchtime and the lot was packed. service at the counter was friendly and fast. the manager took my order, a beef torta, he turned and said something in spanish to a waitress standing next to him, she looked at me and chuckled.

i am certainly not a culinary expert by any means and had never eaten a torta or even known of their existense. frankly, the waitress probably could have brought me anything from the menu and told me it was a torta and i would be none the wiser.

i waited in the dining room for just a few short moments. the torta was served on a huge toasted roll, it just about filled the entire basket. lifting the top of the roll i found a generous portion of seasoned beef topped with fresh shredded cabbage, avacado, pickled jalepno pepper, tomato and cotija cheese crumbles. a smoky-peppery sauce was provided in a squirt bottle, not sure what it was but it added a pleasant zip and just the right amount of heat.

i ate the whole friggin thing.

this place is a 10 and i will be back.

don't see why it's so popular. i had an cheese enchilada platter that also included a "steak". there might be more cheese on a cheeseburger from mickey d's than in these enchiladas. the steak was paper thin and had a very odd flavor; i didn't eat much of it. the fried potatoes and peppers were good. my wife had a bean burrito that had about five beans and the rest rice. you can do better elsewhere.

mothra says....tacos y tacos. i must drive by this restaurant on 99w in tigard while on business probably 3 times a week. the sanchez taqueria has a good reputation in the area and i wanted to try it out. one evening last week, i dropped in to a rather large, clean, restaurant and ordered 4 fish and 4 beef tacos to go. i had some refried beans at the house and a small salad put together by k. so home i drove and an hour later we dined on tacos, refried beans, & a salad. terrific dinner.
like most of you,i get excited about fish tacos. k and i placed dinner together and crunched into the fish tacos on white corn tortillas. they were sparse. i opened mine up and found some granular lettuce, some cheese and nothing else but the fish. so what does mothra do? i went to the frig-er-ator and doctored it up. i added some lemon juice, hot sauce, & shredded lettuce. much better. but those beef, carne asada tacos on yellow corn tortillas needed no emergency room attention at the frig. "nurses, step back, i will handle this." wow. lots of flavor, lots of crunch, great taste. next time, and i will be back, the fish tacos get exchanged for a huaraches or a chavindecas. but more carne asada tacos. mmmm. good cracker. mothra says……..3.2 of 5.0

it passed the "native" test.... stopped into sanchez on a whim last week with a nephew who was visiting from down south, and skeptical of any mexican restaurant north of fresno. can't remember exactly what we had but he ordered off of the menu and the food was great. not the generic rice/beans and cheese covered entree you see at so many places, but honestogawd good food, well-seasoned, and reasonably priced. i'll be going back there.

so mrs. burgerdogboy and i used to go to this little bar down 99w in tigard, i think it was called rodney's - and i'd get a club sandwich (which was fine!), and she'd get ribs or a perfectly adequate steak. the staff was personable, and they'd have bar type events, which we didn't participate in, but often seemed to draw a crowd. in one corner of the bar was a small counter selling tacos, and poof! one day the "rodney's" part was gone, and the entire joint had been commandeered by the taqueria, now operating under the name of sanchez's. they have a fairly simple, brief, authentic mexican menu, and last nite mrs. burgerdogboy had a yen for a little tongue, so we were off to visit the sanchez's. she ordered the tongue plate, which came with a pile of meat, prepared in the usual manner, with onion and cilantro, and some ample sides of beans and rice. i went with the beef, offered similarly, and our plates each came with four warm soft tortillas, clearly prepped in the home-style manner. th
