would reccommend!. i loved the food here and it was really good! they havegreatservice! i would recommend everyone to go here. they also have very good mints when you're done! haha!

samurai sushi and hibachi. overall, i really enjoyed samurai hibachi and i thought the food was great. there were two different chefs who would come around to everyone's table and make the food in front of you, which is a change from most restaurants. once they got started, the food was prepared pretty quickly and i would definitely come back in the future. i would recommend almost anyone to this restaurant because the menu is fairly simple, but still enough options to choose agreatdish. the building did not appear that big at first and was a little difficult to find, but once you go inside it seems way bigger than it did from the outside. they mainly serve sushi and at the hibachi they serve meat or vegetables with your choice of noodles or rice. they had some different drinks like cranberry juice, but also had regular drinks we see in most restaurants. there wasn't any music playing in the hibachi part, but there was pretty low lighting and minimal decorations. this demonstrates their culture we have been studying because it is pretty laid back and simple and the chefs do need to concentrate! i really liked this restaurant and i would definitely come back again soon.

best sushi in town- and i'll tried them all. love the $10 specialty rolls every monday and tuesday!greatlunch specials! all you can eat sushi rolls and $5 martinis on wednesday. must try the fantastic and empero rolls!!!!! owner tim always says hello.

very good sushi. i do not live in ia bur frequently am in west des moines for business. 6 months ago samuari was recommended by a co-worker and i eat at least once a week there when i am in town. the staff isgreatand so is the sushi. always fresh andgreatflavor. i have recommended samurai and taken many co-workers and customers who also have enjoyed the establishment

it's the experience that one has that surpasses one sushi joint from the next. nine times out of ten, tim, the owner, is on the floor interacting with his guests. tonight i choose to sit at the sushi bar and had agreattime chatting with tim about his choice of fish distributors and the supply in general. one of the specials he persuaded me to try was the toro sashimi (bluefin tuna) delivered not even an hour ago. by far the freshest sashimi i've had, well, in the midwest anyway. other rolls i sampled were the fanasric roll, huge chunks of lobster were the star in this one, and the green dragon roll, the typical yummy eel and avocado combo. the servers were very attentive, made saki recommendations, and were friendly. possibly the only downside that i noticed was that the rolls may have been a little more pricy on average in comparison to other sushi spots in the des moines area. but after chatting with tim about how he does business, the call he can make to hawaii tonight and have fish delivered tomorrow, that explains the price you pay for hands down the freshest sushi in town.

great sushi!. one of my favorite sushi restaurants! my friends & i visit for lunch about twice per month, and look forward to each visit. seaweed salad is crispy & fresh. sashimi is alwaysgreat(my fave is the white tuna), and specialty rolls are flavorful & filling. they usually have some rolls on special mondays & tuesdays. my only negatives are that the service is a bit inconsistent and the sushi pieces are sometimes made too large. other than that, this restaurant is agreatchoice!!
