great place for lunch. i've stopped in several times when i'm in the neighborhood. recently had the crawfish monica awesome!!! the red beans, pork chops, stuffed bell pepper have all been good. remember this is a walk up to the counter andorderplace. it's usually packed at lunch so just prepare.

for those of you who don't know, this place was on triple d (diners drive-ins and dives), but it was a thanksgiving episode. they have much more to offer than what's on tv. food is excellent! get there for about 11am to beat the lunch rush, it gets packed about 11:30 usually. yes sometimes they take a few to get yourorderto you, that's because everything they make has a little bit of love in it...ha! enjoy!

great shrimp poor boy's but costly for the price .. great shrimp poor boy's but i tell you now you can't be poor if your going toordera shrimp poor boy or oyster poor boy because it's going to cost you around 17 dollars just to get it dress / oyster lol close to 19 dollars extreme prices , i've gone to sammy's for many years i've watch it change along with the prices , after katrina they repair in a timely manner after that the prices went out the roof and that's because they were to only one's open in that area , all poor boy's are 6.99 for 4 inch and average 9 dollars for the 10 inch before being dress , even a ham and cheese will run you 11 dollars after being dress why " i don't know , also the pickles are mainly cucumbers and the lettuce is romaine that kills the sandwich for me, i prefer shredded ice burg lettuce and regular pickles like a real poor boy don't make my poor boy's fancy , ' are the poor boy's good " hell yeah they are " , the wait be prepared for a wait toorderand also for them to make the sandwich , a good 35 on up , there is always a line so if your in a hurry good luck there's always a lunch crowd , so if your going to get a medium fountain drink fry's and a poor boy you better bring more than 20 dollars this is why i only eat there once in a while, but i do enjoy it .

i went in and purchased a shrimp poboy and a stuff bellpepper. i waited almost 30 mins for my bellpepper to come up to the window while my poboy sat on the corner becoming cold, fine. myorderis finally up, i thank the cashier and go home. i get home open my food and my french bread is extremely hard, i bite into the sandwich it's now cold and taste like nothing but cheap hot sauce. i open the container for the stuff bellpepper, it's loaded with only ground meat, which throw me for a loop because it's should be called stuff ground meat pepper. the pepper was disgusting and the flavor was terrible. i pack everything up and goes back to the restaurant. i walked up to the counter and a lady asked me what's wrong, not how may i help you but what's wrong. i stated i would like my money back, she asked why, i said its nasty. she looks at me and with the nastiest and a rude attitude proceeds to tell me "it's not nasty you just don't care for it." i'm shocked because i am the customer. she turns and say what's was wrong with it, i simply replied hey you know my taste buds i didn't care for it, wasn't that what you just told me. as the cashier gives me my money back i asked is that the owner, she states yes. i will never return to this establishment and when my out of town family return we always eat at sammys, never again. i may expect rudeness from an employee but never from the owner. not one time did she act professional, nor did she apologize for my inconvenience or my experience. thanks but no thanks

good food, but.... wait was horrible, service non existent, prices were high $9+ per poboy/sandwich and the portions were ok. and parking is not going to happen anywhere near there. expect a really long wait fromordertime to eating. 50 minutes for two roast beef po-boys. no sides are included in the price. everything is a-la-carte.

omg!!. went here for lunch with a coupon with my dad and brother on 12/14/12. i had the seafood stuffed catfish with jambalaya and mac and cheese...let me just say the sauce on the catfish was to die for!! i have been craving it again ever since i had it. my dad had the blackened catfish which was equally amazing. my brother had the blue cheese bacon burger, this thing was huge, tons of blue cheese....no fries or sides needed. the only downside i can say for this place is that it's kind of small and the line was out the door so it took forever toorderbecause they only have 2 people working the registers, answering the phones, doing takeouts, and running food...need to hire more people!! so if you're on a time limit it might not work, but even with the long wait....i will absolutely be back!!

questionable. i placed anorderover the phone for 3 meals. mostly fish and fried chicken. when i arrived for pickup i also bought the bread pudding. my family enjoyed the meals but when i was ready for dessert it was green and moldy. had to wait until a monday to return it but i cant go back

what a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. when i placed anorderover the phone (from work) i was told that when i came in i would be able to pay with different forms of payments and when i got there is was a different story. when i got back to work and everyone recieved their food there was no untensils or napkins and i am human and like to use utensils and not my hands to eat a salad and my employee didn't like the idea of eating her baked mac with her hands either! i called tosee if theutensils should have been in the bag the woman who asnwered the phone told me yes and i told her they were not. she asked if i would like to come back to get then and i told her no i am at work and i guess we will have to eat with our hands today and then she said sorry. right i believe that she was sorry and that pigs fly also. my side salad that i was told had everything on it look like mcdonald's only half the size for $2.99. they promote "homemade chili" and i guess taco bell does serve '"real ground meat". the cheesse fries were in a styrofoam container which was partically melted ( i don't think that could be too healthy). and if you want to purchase a kids meal the child must be there in the store to purchase it. so i guess that if you have a disabled child or if you are on the way home from work and want to pick up dinner. too many times i have gone to ths place and i always have a problem ( i onlyorderfrom work and it is usually several employees who get plates and we all have problems!)
