horrible service!. my wife hosted a birthday dinner for me here with some friends the other night. she made reservations a week and a half in advance for 8 people and was told that we would be seated in a booth. my wife and i arrived atsambucaand asked for our reservation only to be told that we would have to wait until the rest of our party arrived. so, we went to the bar and had a few drinks. after the rest of our party arrived, they sat us at a table for 4, but with 6 chairs. only 6 people showed up, so we should've had plenty of room, but no. not only that, but the table was right behind the hostess stand in the front of the restaurant. since it was obvious that there wasn't enough room for all of us to sit comfortably, we asked to be moved to a bigger table. we waited for a bigger table to be assembled and then sat down.
we ordered 3 appetizers and ordered several rounds of drinks. after those were finished, we ordered dinner and another round of drinks. while we were finishing eating, a "bouncer" came up to our table and told us that we would have to get up and that they were taking our table to make room for the dance floor. who puts a party of 6 people who had a reservation at a table that has to be removed? apparently the intelligence of the staff here was that of a petting zoo (i'm referring to the animals). anyway, we told the bouncer that we had reservations and he said that he didn't care and he was coming back to take our table. we asked to speak to the manager and also went back to the hostess to figure out what was going on. the hostess gave us a buzzer to let us know when we could be re-seated. keep in mind that we're in the middle of dinner!
the "manager" comes to us and complains to us that we cursed his "bouncer" and that this was "just policy". no one at our table was cursing anyone and no one ever mentioned this "policy" beforehand. at that point, we canceled the rest of our orders and asked for the bill. on our way out, we asked to speak to the manager again and we got a completely different person. we asked if there were two managers and he said, "no." so, we were lied to as well. the real manager had nothing to offer except, "sorry about your luck" and a shrug of his shoulders. obviously, this restaurant/bar does not care about its customers. we will never be returning. there are far too many places in the dfw area that offer better food, better service, and better atmosphere.
on another note, you might be wondering about the food. most of the items on the menu contain shrimp. i love shrimp, so i was looking forward to it, but the waitress informed us that they were out of shrimp, so we would need to order something else. the food was nothing to brag about. i've had better.
