saguaro corners restaurant & bar

all around good time. we have gone several times and each time is a hit! we have sat inside where there is a beautiful view, outside where you enjoy the weather, the live music, and wonderfulfoodand drink choices. my favorites are the watermelon ceviche, the mahi tacos and some amazing desserts! the service staff, the bartenders and everyone that works there are all friendly and work hard to make it a special time!

food lacks quality. we have been to saguaro corners three times since it opened - once the first week, second time a couple weeks later, and most recently this evening.

the first time we were there, we realized that it was the first week in production and understood that it was a new operation. we did not complain when some of thefoodwas cold and took a long time to arrive. we did think it was odd that the wings came uncut. here we were expecting hot wings, and we got this huge plate of full size wings. was not appealing at all.

on our second visit, thefoodwas better. nothing i would rave about, but better than my first visit. there was live music and it was wonderful. the 6th street band played that night and they were awesome. it is such a beautiful setting out at saguaro corners, and so right for a perfect desert evening in tucson.

tonight, i ordered chicken tortilla soup and i came across a 3 inch strip of boiled chicken skin, bumps and all. just gross. spoiled my appetite. i tried to eat my second item which was calabacitas over rice and beans. i don't eat white rice, so i asked if i could just have it over black beans, but was told no, it was a mixture. i had like 5 black beans total when it was brought to me. but that wasn't the worst...it was the what seemed like days old squash...mushy....that was awful.

the staff is really nice. they are trying. i don't think it is a staff issue at this point. it seems to be afoodquality issue. aside from the issues i have already raised, they have very little if any healthy options. we see what happened when i tried to get black beans and no white rice. throughout the menu, it is chicken thighs they serve, not chicken breast. just seems like the focus is delivering on the cheap. that is a shame. hope it changes. would love to take my family there and have a better experience and am always looking for new, cool places to take my large client parties.

super disappointed. good luck with that menu. besides being the design of what must be a cooking school dropout, thefoodselections would be best consumed when positively drunk or buzzed. i mean really, could you spare the two tablespoons of re-fried beans you put on the lathargic cheese crisp? the shrimp and bread dish was an embarrassment. you must not care that hot, spicy foods do not appeal to everyone. sorry, but we couldn't get past the appetizers, because we lost our appetites. we had to ask for plates. the table next to ours had to ask for silverware...after being served their entres eight minutes prior.however, one should end on a high note. the beer was cold! i give you five months before you are gone unless you wise up and improve.

best restuarant ever!!! bloody mary's are to die for!!!! everyone needs to go!!!. my husband and i love this place!!! been going since january and its our 1x a week dine out date!!! they make the best bloody marys out there!!! they have great servers, amazing bartenders and lots of listening ears to those that have concern. of course, we love it and there are no concerns here!!! as business owners ourselves here in tucson, we hope that this small business thrives successfully and can continue the amazing service onfoodand drinks as they are doing all these months!!! the variety infoodis also very good!!! no complaints here!! plus they have live music on the weekends that is soo awesome!!! love it love it

great place, really relaxing and friendly atmosphere. thefoodreally has flavour, and the kids love it.

music but much more. went for the music saturday night but enjoyed thefoodeven more. everything from the jamie platter to the scallop tower to the jamie margaritas were special. enjoyed the atmosphere as well. the new saguaro corners is a welcome addition to the eastside.

we stopped in here for our lunch during our visit to tucson very casual and comfortable setting. the service was good though we did have to look for the server to get refills, we then ordered a variety of burgers, sandwiches, appetizers. all thefoodwas very good, everyone was very happy and we will definitely come here again.

the wildlife viewing was delightful, thefoodwas delicious, and the staff was kind and attentive. i will definitely be back!

great destination!. i've been here a half dozen times in the past year and each time the service andfoodwere both excellent! i am a fan of the calabasitas tacos - i have not found vegetables cooked so well anywhere else in tucson. once we had the special of the day, scallop towers, yum. family members are a fan of the jamie taco. the mini sonoran dogs are very good. also, waitress recommended a refreshing and delicious pear cider one hot day which hit the spot. it's a comfortable environment with nice view of nature and wildlife through large windows in the dining area. i haven't eaten a burger yet, but i've seen them being delivered and they look good! good food, good service, fun environment.

wonderful outdoor dining!. went there just this last saturday night, after hearing good things about it. we sat outside, our waitress was friendly and knowledgable. there was outdoor entertainment, which was complimentary, but not too overpowering. thefoodwas so delicious, and the portions were plentiful. i am so glad that there is an option so close to my house that is so good!

this is a neighborhood place with lots of beer choices andfoodfor everyone. healthy, hearty and huge salads, tacos, burgers, fried stuff and more. not fancy. laid back and a place you will want to come back to and get to know.

location is great- nice summer air, good band playing, but very disorganized. i called to request a table for saturday night, in the middle, right in front of our friends who were playing in the band on the patio. i was told we had to have 6 people to reserve a table. i told them we had 6 people in our party. when we arrived-the only "table" was right in the middle in front of the band with a reserved sign on it. i ask the server if this was indeed our table. he went to check. he came back and told us to sit down and handed us menu's. we no sooner sat down and another female server told us that we had to move -that the table was reserved for someone else and that we had to have 6 people for a reservation. i advise her that we did(3 others were on their way) and that i had made a reservation for the same place. she said someone "reserved" the table earlier in the week but it didn't get written down??????

when the other party arrived for the "reserved table"-there were only 2 of them. eventually another couple came. they got a reserved table for 4 but repeatedly told us it had to be 6??????

we were then ushered to the far back to a picnic table. the 6 of us , all large adults, sat down with no backs for support, the bench seat was split in 1/2 and one side 2" higher than the other. the server then said she would move us when another table cleared.

when a table did clear- we had to wait and ask several times to get it wiped off. had to ask for silverware etc.

service was poor. very disorganized.foodtook about 50 minutes to get, a couple of us went to the bar to get ice tea, and drinks because we couldn't get a server-3 of them were standing atend of the bar inside the door talking?

everything was slow and people didn't seem to know what they were doing. the tea was that awful stuff that comes in a container that everyone else got rid of in the many years ago. it was one thing after another with service. we had a couple different servers trying to deliver a salad to our table at different times of the night that we repeatedly said wasn't ours.

the servers all seemed inexperienced and not sure what to do or where they should be. most of thefoodwas ok, although my tacos were cold as they brought them to the table while i waited patiently for drinks at the bar that took too long.

after all thefoodwas served, there seemed to be a bit more attention to service-as far as drinks were concerned.
i was charged different prices for the same drink.

this place needs a good business manager and trained staff. communication seems to be a problem also.

and for the record we did not seat ourselves, i called in a reservation, the server went to check and told us to be seated, we had 6 people- unlike the party of 4 who were given the reserved table.

i don't think they understand the importance of their customers to their business.

greatfood& great entertainment!!. stopped by saguaro corners after driving by and seeing the happy hour sign. quickly checked the web site on my phone and found a great menu, great prices and tons of live entertainment. this place did not disappoint!! thefoodwas amazing, service was excellent and entertainment was awesome. i originally did not want to write a review only because i did not want the secret to get out but this place deserves the accolades. 5 out of 5 stars. check it out asap.

unexpected delight. i have driven by dozens of times but we finally decided to head over for dinner last week. the atmosphere is casual and comfortable, not pretentious at all. thefoodhowever is much more than expected, something you would expect is a swanky cafe. the menu items are traditional but with a fun modern twist and the flavor was robust and delicious. i strongly recommend a side of candied cayenne bacon. it won't disappoint

great relaxing evening on the patio. this is a great spot on the eastside to sit and relax and listen to some great music while eating good food. we've been a few times by ourselves and once with our kids and each time everyone was very happy with their food. the service has been spot on every time except one night that a few large groups bombarded the patio, but that's not the restaurant's fault. even then the service was very friendly and apologetic for being so busy. thefoodis a bit unique as it takes normal recipes and twists them just ever so slightly like their mac and cheese with chorizo which is delicious. we're very glad we found this spot!
