really good hotel restaurant. normally i don't eat at hotel restaurants. about the only time i do is if i am just too tired to go out. to me eating at the hotel is sort of like going to chili's or applebees when you are out of town when there are so many other places to go. i've stayed here a few time and have always been amazed as to how many people are always in the safari room. the happy hour menu and bargain prices have always intrigued me but had never tried it.

the place is good, theserviceis excellent, and their 3-course meal for $17.95 is probably subsidized just to get you in there and to buy some drinks, but for whatever reason this is a place you should try even when you aren't staying at the hotel. they also advertise they will validate your valet parking if you eat here, so you can avoid the parking hassle downtown. menu isn't huge but all the choices look to be well thought out and good choices.

not a huge menu, and portions aren't huge but they are good and definitely a full meal for $17.95. deserts are in tiny cups but are a nice completion to the dinner. upscale crowd, good service. i haven't been to the $6 lunch but after having the $17.95 dinner i'm guessing it is also a fantastic deal.

this isn't meant to be a back handed compliment, i just really really don't like hotel restaurants so am biased against them, but this one is the exception, it actually is a good restaurant that happens to be in a hotel.

tarzan like sliders. six bucks for lunch! excellentservicein the bar - server even asked before putting lemon in our water, which i really appreciated. 80's décor, 90's music, 70's price.

don't bother with this place. new york attitudes exist in spokane - here at the safari lounge. my wife and i brought my my niece, 23 years old, to the safari and she was refusedservicedespite showing two photo id's from her home country. the waitress required a passport!!! with all of the foreign visitors at the davenport, is it possible that this is the policy of the hotel? in the past i have bragged about the davenport to our frequent visitors from outside the us. trust me, that will no longer be the case. in addition, my wife and i will be patronizing other great restaurants in spokane.

i have eaten at the safari room many times at the davenport tower. today i am a guest at the hotel and just had breakfast. the food andserviceare ok but you never know what you are going to get sometimes it is fabulous and sometimes it's mediocre. they do have a great drink menu but the evenings can be very busy and loud with not enough wait staff. all in all it's an ok place.

big surprise. after a nightmare of many restaurants on first friday in spokane and the fireside a couple of times recently we wanted to see if the safari could live up to reputation of the davenport and spokane. it did. it was crazy busy and we still had greatserviceand the price ... i told the server that they had made a mistake it should have been $40 not $17. happy hour really is happy at the safari with great food and martini's.
