s & b's burger joint

not sure why people make such a big deal about the bloody mary's here. you can get one much better from rachael at cookies dive bar. we sat at the bar unacknowledged by the bar tender while he continued to make his overly garnishedtimeconsuming bloody mary's for near 10 minutes. there were plenty of people just walking around that could have offered us a drink while he was busy. or he could have stopped what he was doing for a few secs to at least let us know he would be right with us. kind of socially awkward. being a server for over a decade doesn't support the bad service cause either. i have no idea how this establishment is expanding. they should focus on the joints they have and make those better first.

got our burgers to-go and took back to work. our burgers were raw on the inside! not rare, but raw!!! stone cold!!! had to zap it in the microwave! the seasonings were ok. the burgers were pretty greasy too. the fries were, of course, flimsy and greasy and serving size was less than you get if you eat inside the restaurant! all in all, we were very disappointed. this is our secondtimeto try this place and we won't be back. the garage is not far away, so we will be going there in the future. their burgers are awesome!! louie's also has great burgers!

s&b's burger joint. trendy, good food and loud.. my wife and i decided to eat at s&b's for the firsttimeon wednesday evening about 5:45. first, parking is a problem as the main lot is gravel and the next lot is one way in and then you probably need to back out. they need to rethink all of this. the burgers are good, maybe very good. they are juicy and you need lots of napkins. all have catchy names and were interesting to try to figure out what you wanted. it's more of a bar that serves burgers rather than a restaurant that has a bar. lots of beer selection and that seems to be the attraction. the service is pretty good but the food will take about 15 - 20 minutes to arrive. i had one of the burgers and my wife had another variety. we also had the combo fries and sweet potato fries. these were very good. it's a little over priced but i guess you are going for the trendy atmosphere in almost downtown okc. it should do quite well for the younger set but for me it was a little too expensive and too loud. maybe it was just the two obnoxious men sitting at the bar who were very overweight and shouted almost every word.....

this was so fantastic. starting with a perfect bloody mary then digging into some amazing burgers. my dinning partner and i both opted for the sliders, as suggested by our waitress, so we could try more than one. we both loved each of the sliders (trying each others as well) and agreed that the hotlips was our favorite. the sweet potato fries we cooked and seasoned perfectly, a great pairing with the sliders. nexttimewe are in okc will be back.

i was served the wrong order. ord ered a chicken & mushroom & was served the okie chicken. the server offered to remake the order but i declined because i thought i would just go ahead & eat the okie chicken. it was too spicy to my liking & it wasn't very good so i only ate about half. i should have ha d them remake the order in retrospect. it was the firsttimethey have ever gotten an order wrong for me. i won't ever order the okie chicken tho! not up to s & b's usual standards.

this place made our "we'll stop here nexttimewe're in town" list. really good bloody mary's, a helpful waiter, and great tasting burgers in a funky fun atmosphere.

just as good as the original location. i've been a longtimefan of s&b's, and only tried this new location out recently. this location has the nicest date-night atmosphere out of the three. the burger was just as delicious as the ones i've gotten at other locations, and i was glad for that. as i've posted for the original s&b, the same applies here. delicious burgers, but the price of fries & drinks feels a bit too steep to me, so i generally don't get them. i was genuinely surprised when the manager came around and checked that everything was ok with our dishes and service. i've been to the original location around 14 times, and have never had anyone but the server check on us. our server was obviously very new, but she was very polite and courteous about any delays we had in our meal. try the hotlips houlihan, it's really good. would recommend, would eat at this location again.

the service from the waiter we ha was very good and the burgers were delicious. theistic is way too loud and the manager came to our table and asked specifically about our shakes. i told him my shake did not taste very good so he explainedtimewhat was in a shake. like i don't know. then he offered to take it off the ticket which he knew i had already paid for. he then tried to hurry us out the door. will never be back and if i ever meet that manager again, we can talk like men outside of his environment. maybe he can afford for some common sense customer service classes or even just some common sense.

favorite burger place. while s & b's has expanded in all directions from it's original nw 59th and may location, this second location is my favorite. brett has been a regular for several years now, eating there about once per week, with toni joining him fromtimeto time. it's small, with experienced long-time servers and kitchen crew who all do a very good job. the cooks at this location seem to take more care and produce good food every time. this is not a four-star experience, folks. it's a well-run bar with a much higher standard for creative and good food than most any bar that you will frequent in okc. try it!

expected the worst( a million people in line on a monday), got the best. server was fast, food was a little slow(about 15 min after i ordered), and yet somehow i had a great experience. i could see the cook working a multitude of orders and i even heard him talk about my food as it was being plated..knowing my food is "about 60 seconds away" gave me enoughtimeto take a bathroom break! also, the bloody radish was great! might try dessert next time, but it seems i need a nap. zzzzzz-

becoming disappointing.. like many folks around town, i've been a fan of s & b's since they had just the one location on may ave.

the big problem i have developed with s & b's is that consistency is pretty much non-existent. there was atimewhen i considered s & b's to deliver one of the tastier burgers in town. anymore, however, it seems like i'm constantly getting the same overcooked burger and underwhelming side of fries to go along with marginal service.

it's a shame too, as i don't imagine a side-product of their rapid expansion is going to be increased consistency in execution.

s&b no shows catered event.... it is unfortunate that i am having to post this, because i am a frequent s&b customer and have always loved s&b burger...

the s&b mobile truck was supposed to cater our event yesterday evening. the event was from 5:30 to 7:30, and we met with them last week to confirm all details. we had multiple email conversations between that meeting last week and yesterday regarding the event (since feb 17th we have had this date andtimereserved). at 5:00pm when the truck had not arrived we began trying to get a hold of s&b - took 3 calls to finally get to someone. once we got a hold of them, they stated that their phone did not remind them of the event - they completely forgot us! the host at the may location stated the truck was in norman and we are located in north okc! we had over 100 people coming to our client/prospect networking event. we included free advertising for s&b by mentioning their presence on all 500 invitations that went out last month, and many people were excited to try their food for the first time. even more disappointing is that they made no effort to try to help us rectify our situation at that current moment. they could have called their may location to try to have food delivered, or they could have offered to call any other restaurant to help make sure we had food. instead, we were left to try to find food for our guests that were arriving in 20 minutes. thank goodness for rudy's bbq down the street - they came through for us and our guests in 35 minutes! the operations manager from s&b did call us but the call came at 5:30 and left a message for us to call back because they would like to make the situation right. but how do you make up for not showing up to a catered event at thetimethe event was supposed to start?
we did call and speak with the operations manager this morning. she stated they messed up on the date and that they needed to comp us in some way but we would need to really speak with the owner. we contacted the owner immediately...we have left 3 messages...so far no return call.

s&b - you disappointed a lot of people last night. i, along with many other frequenters, will never return.

special beers didnt last long;;. the $2.00 mustang session 33 only lasted a couple of weeks....give me a break...its a great beer for 2.00 but apparently they decided it was too good...they are droppng it,,they had it the firsttimei was there but they where "out" of it the next 3timewe tried them.....meet me at blu or blackbird'
they have great beers for 2.50 ,,,,the food was ok but our waiter bugged the crap out of us...every 2 min....can i get you anything else..????????

so i thought the presentation and enviorment was cute. but when i eat or order a burger i expect it to not be on a dinner roll. clearly the meat on the sliders and or burgers are not the full meat patties. i was a little disappointed and had to go somewhere else to eat because i was still hungry after spending 15.00.

so this is my 1sttimeeating @ this burger joint. it was not busy & took forever like 20minute for 2 slider burgers. 20 minutes for two small sliders. the thunder burger had a lot of flavor in that burger. the so called fatty was a disappointment. it was a cheeseburger with grilled onions & pickles nothing else. $3.25. then i tried the,thunder burger that had a hamburger patty hormel ham , swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, fresh avocados & thunder sauce (a,spicy thousand island). this sauce had my bun super soggy wet. i do not like wet bread. the overall taste was amazing. the burgers are not really that much bigger. of course the sides are separate. b4 i ordered i ask the waiter what was good as in the best burger, he says nothing just say's ”ill give you moretimeto look @ the menu.” seriously sir! i sat and watch this waiter cater to an outside party that seemed to be his friends. when i was ready to pay i,had to look for my waiter. he appears after 11 minutes of,waiting for my check. total bill $8.13. and im still hungry. the decor was very burger,garage nice. will i be back. yes maybe in the daytime which i hope service is better. i will order a full burger & see if i actually get full the next go round.

friday lunch, bad experience. s&b, i am one of your big fans. your entire 9th st staff needs to go observe the 59th st staff to re-learn how things (everything) should be done. i have always had super food/service at 59th, conversely, seems like something's always a bit off at 9th. friday, my bread was soggy, onions not quite cooked enough, and an unexpected surprise in my burger..i'll leave it at that. my lunch buddy's burger wasn't cooked properly and he received the wrong burger...apparently the recipe for the asian has changed, now they say it's similar to the hot lips houlihan. it used to not be sweet & have wasabi on it. ok, fine. his replacement burger came out fairly quickly but still wasnt correct. i had told the waitress we were on business lunch & needed to hurry. it seemed difficult to get help from anyone. a different waitress finally picked up our trash & assured me our checks were on the way. as our waitress seemed to be giving plenty of attention to the table next to us, i tried to get her attention with no success. we laid our credit cards on the table, yet nobody seemed to notice. finally i caught her eye & she was like " oh, are you ready for your check?" seriously? totaltimewasted for lunch: 1.5hrs. the food & service were totally not worth it. i will still be a loyal fan of 59th st but i think we're done with 9th st. sorry. oh, several other people seemed upset too, including the two ladies & a boy next to us who must have waited at least 45 min before getting their to-go order.
