met with a long time friend and decided to have desserts. since we were in the mall thought of checking out this restaurant. as soon as we entered we were warmly welcomed at the doorstep by their smiling staff making us feel at home. the restaurant has a great ambiance, well decorated with a calm and relaxing atmospher. the private cabins are perfect for a family visit.

we chose to have gulab jamun and ras malai which average in taste but the service was quick.

overall, it's a place worth visiting. i will visit again to try the main course.

friends, please bear with me this time as it’s gonna be a long and sweet review, because this place is worth eating and writing at length about it so other foodie mates know what they have.
to start with: let’s talk about their location and ambience first. the restaurant, which is part of a group of restaurants spread across uae, is located on level 1 inside al ain mall, kuwaitat. the moment you see this restaurant from a distance, you could make out it’s true to its name. royal moghul, looks amazingly royal at entrance itself. beautifully decorated and crafted interiors and exteriors. when you get inside there are elegant private rooms/cabins and also open food areas, depending on your choice. the ambience is so perfect that i wanna give 7 stars out of five!
now, the real part, the food: i was surprised to see their menu as the prices are really affordable and i can bet you in this, the place offers the best dining experience in town coupled with value for your hard earned money. we ordered corn soup, chicken 65 and mix platter as a starter. the chef appears from the royal moghul lineage it seems, as the dishes were all delicious and tasty, that finger licking experience that i rarely talk in my reviews. the main course we ordered roghan gosht, dal tadka and mix vegetable curry along with butter naan and biryani. believe me folks, not only it’s perfect taste wise but also their portion size is really good. so if you’re those “little eater” group then be cautious about your orders and if you’re that my type, “heavy foodies” you’ll love their huge portion sizes at the best prices they offer. my daughter and niece ordered couple of customized juices, which were fantabulous too. we were so full and satisfied that we couldn’t order any deserts, due to lack of gastric space you know.
about their staff: they are extremely professional and highly well trained and ethical as well. they ask you about your feedback of the food served and also to suggest if there’s any possible improvements. this part i liked the most.
so, honestly, i would strongly recommend anyone visiting al ain, not to miss this golden opportunity to have a royal dining experience without really burning your pockets 😊.
satisfaction guaranteed!

a wonderful experience at the royal mughal restuarant in al ain mall.

the manager mr raj is outstanding , very warm and friendly. staff are excellent and attentive , they remain close by , not too close to stifle you and your conversation but close enough if you need them.

the green sauce that accompanies the papads are excellent.

we ordered steamed rice, butter naan, garlic naan. butter chicken , mutton korma and rogan josh. we also had a lentil soup.

the naans were freshly baked , crispy and delicious. the lentil soup was one of the best i have ever had in al ain. our favourite curry was the korma. the butter chicken was fully enjoyed by the kids , i found it a tad bit sweet. the least favourite was the rogan josh.

this restuarant had such a lovely feel to it , my only wish is that it was not in a mall. given that once you are in and seated in doesn't feel that way.

well worth a visit ... will visit again.

they also do home deliveries for convenience.

nice place with friendly staff. i had gone based on some other reviews itself. tried out chinese food in a north indian restaurant and taste was surprisingly really good. meal quantity was also more than what one can ask for. all in all a nice visit.

i ordered the nawabi biryani and it was an terrible experience the rice was still raw and saltless it was felt like a pile of crap put on my plate and the mixed kabab was not cooked properly i am pretty sure they forget to add salt in to each and every thing u order and the service was not good .the food we get there is either over cooked or raw . it was totally a crappy experience this place made me hate biryani 😶

it was a bit hard to locate inside the mall itself.

we ordered a kadhai sabzi and a royal mughal special vegetable. as for the breads,we had a garlic naan, a keema naan, and a pudina paratha. they were okay. i wouldn't say bad, but not something that i particularly liked. they have complimentary roasted papad.

we also ordered a jal-jeera which took took quite long. it was a little mintier than what i've usually had, but good.

they had messed up the order a bit and instead of the kadai sabzi got the tawa sabzi.

full review on the blog.

had a takeaway delivered over the weekend and was a little skeptical about ordering an indian from a restaurant i knew nothing about. good service from the manager who assisted me on a couple of items not on the menu, food arrived hot, tasty and on time. slightly expensive but did order tandoori prawns as a main course, excellent kema naan and a friendly delivery guy. would definitely give it another go...

the perfect spot for an authentic indian meal in al ain. its conveniently located in the centre of al ain mall and has a terrace as well as cabins for those who like to eat in private. the best part is the food, they had a huge selection of indian food and as i was in the mood for some soup to start with i ordered their lentil soup, which was on point. for the starters we got the mixed grill, which has a selection of mutton seekh kebabs, fish tikka, prawns and assorted chicken kebabs - malai, haryali and tikka. the kebabs were succulent and full of flavor. then to the mains, we had the kadai subzi, dal makhni and chicken tikka masala as well as a biryani, which we could barely touch as we were so stuffed. must say all the dishes were very good, and our server took excellent care of us. the place also has a nice ambience and prices are pretty reasonable. definitely the place to go if your looking for an indian meal in al ain.

i have visited this restaurant several times since in the last few years, it was then known as dubai mughal restaurant. unfortunately, their service & food quality has been on a consistent decline with every subsequent visit.

my last visit of yesterday was a disappointment for a few things listed below:

the paneer in the paneer tikka masala felt like it was uncooked & stale.
we requested for the malai kofta to be spicy but it was as sweet as a dessert.
our request for a lime soda (fastest drink to make after water & soft drinks) arrived after dinner was done.
only saving grace was the cheese roll (starter) which was a good change to the traditional spring roll. description mentioned that this would be toasted but it was clearly fried.

i really hope they take this seriously & improve.

one of the good eateries in al ain. it was a different kind of experience. i first choose to sit in the balcony and dine but it was neither upper than the first floor nor closer to the ground floor, it was kind of confusing so i chose to move inside the restaurant. food was served properly and the staff were professional (but my friend didn't like a waiter who was standing at a distance-away from our table and constantly looking at us). assorted vegetable kebab was under seasoned and the sheek kebabs had no salt so it was not enjoyable. more than the food the decorations carried me in the memory lane of history books. i was eating but was recollecting history classes.....1530- babar, akbar, aurangazib, mughal empire from 1530s to 1850s, turkish origin, persian and spoke urdu during that period... food could have tasted better if seasoned properly otherwise the cooking and quality was good. they have a variety of drinks, i tasted lassi with saffron and jaal jeera, both were good. make sure you eat here if you are in alain..
