goodfoodwithout going pittsburgh. highly recommend the spicy shrimp appetizer and the beet salad is to die for. service was on point and the rices were reasonable. i will be returning!

this place is far too inconsistent. we go here at least once a week bc it is the local neighborhood restaurant that isn't the place with the smiley cookie or fries on the sandwich. we are pretty consistent in what we order and it's never the same twice. and more often than not, it's bad. the final straw for this place was when we went for sunday brunch. their dessert display was set up on tiers of unsupported panes of glass. a patron leaned herself on one of the panes thinking it was a real shelf and the whole thing came crashing down. glass flew everywhere including the garnish tray behind the bar. we sat in horror as we watched the staff clean up the mess, and anything that looked like it didn't land "top down" was placed back on a plate and served. we were done. i refuse to go back to a place that finds it acceptable to servefoodthat potentially has shattered glass through it. this happened in the front of the house. so what are they doing to yourfoodbehind closed doors? beware of this place.

wonderfulfoodand service!. my children took me here for mother's day. my son had been telling how great theirfoodwas and what a great selection they offered. well i was not disappointed, thefoodwas delicious and the coconut cream pie was fabulous. i was surprised at quickly we were served, unheard of on mother's day. loved the music as well, the staff was so polite. all and all a great experience and i will be back. i also referred many friends today, its a hidden gem.

goodfoodevery time. we enjoy the consistent quality of the food, reasonable prices, their willingness to make a change to the meal when requested and we enjoy the choice of beers. not many places have more than one stout!

great service and food. thefoodselections are fantastic and their specials are great. had the red snapper and it was done perfect.

friday evening dinner. we were completely satisfied with our dining experience. our waitress was gracious, helpful and efficient. thefoodwas of excellent quality for the price (which was reasonable). there were many fresh fish options available (chef specials). it was hard to choose. i had the sweet and spicy snapper. it was cooked perfectly. my husband had the mahi mahi which he described as superb. we also enjoyed a garlic shrimp appetizer which was suggested to us by our waitress. we will be back.

we've eaten there 3 times over the past year.  thefoodis pretty good but the service is usually slow and it's not cheap.  at our previous visit we waited quite a while for a server, and then two servers alternately waited on us for the evening, and it took forever.  we went back tonight but left without eating.  we arrived for our 6:30 reservation on time.  the hostess sat us immediately, then went to get us silverware.  for the next 15 minutes, five different servers walked back and forth past our table without anyone taking our orders, while other customers who arrived after us had water brought and their orders taken.  not one of the five servers stopped to ask if anyone had taken our order.  the hostess also walked past without asking if someone had helped us.  we asked to see the manager on the way out.  she apologized but rather than offering a free drink or appetizer, she simply offered to have our orders taken immediately.  we politely declined and left, and probably won't be back.

this place puts the monterey bay fish grotto atop mt. washington to shame.  i've been a few times and cannot believe the quality offoodand service in forest hills.  my last visit i had the caprese salad, cheese ravioli with a garlic cream sauce and grilled salmon.  it was to die for.  the salad has fresh tomatoes and basil with a delicious balsamic drizzle for a delightfully refreshing salad.  the fresh bread and dipping oil are a great accompaniment.   i love the flavors of the grilled salmon - herbs and seasonings instead of the typical and flavorless fruit glazed salmon everywhere else.  the fresh lemon juice gave a wonderfully tart contrast to the sauce and ravioli.  it is my new favorite dish of any restaurant.

we were at roman bistro on sunday, oct. 4th. we had a wonderful meal. outstanding meal, but the service was very poor. our server was missing when we asked him for cheese and a spoon to eat the very good sauce in the bottom of the dish. we asked another server he never came back either. we had birthday party's and mother's day dinners there so we are good patrons.

our server finally appeared when we were half way finished with out meal only to see him visiting and sitting talking to his  friends at a table by the window. asked again for cheese and a spoon, he returned more than 5 mins. later, much to late. ourfoodwas a 5.0, service was1.0.

overtly discriminated against here. no service for a full 20 minutes while a man and woman came in, sat next to us, and were serviced immediately. rude staff when i brought it to their attention.foodhas always been just so-so, and service has always been iffy, but this is the final straw. now they are discriminating against customers. done with this place. oh, and a grouper filet (one of the most common fish in the world)....$31. #overpriced #overrated #overit

one of our local favorites. we have never had poor service or a bad experience. thefoodis good and has a traditional menu. i like that they run some great specials including 1/2 off wine night.

roman bistro has had mixed reviews from the public since it's opening a few years ago. when i was in roman bistro last week it was pretty good! thefoodwas excellent.  the service was wonderful.  we had a very nice waitress and she was very professional and polite. she kept checking in on us.  the only drawback i find about roman bistro is that it's a noisy place.  we were seated at a table near the bar which had tvs (i lost count on how many) and people talking quite loudly.  but.. i'm willing to bet that the other area of roman bistro is a little quieter.   in any case, i'd go back again-- hopefully i'll get the same service i had last week. :)

food. it was my husband and i first time at roman bistro, thefoodwas awesome! the manicotti was delicious! my husband had the special, ,which was the halibut over couscous. it was to die for! loved it and will definitely by back! we also loved their homemade lemon basil dressing!

really great italianfoodand atomosphere. some of my favorite menu items are osso bucco, salmon au poirre (sp) with pasta pockets with figs and gorgonsola, chicken romona like you've never had it over linguini with a white wine suace, great fish dishs like mahi mahi and halibut, specials every day, half off wine on tuesdays, i'm getting hungry.

roman bistro has best italianfoodaround. roman bistro has really good and different italian food. pasta pockets stuffed with figs, chick roman with lemon wine sauce, beet salad, oso bucco and specials every day and half off wine on tuesdays. nice place and very good staff including dante, drew and michelle.

roman bistro is great italian food. where do i start, everything is so good. nice place and nice servers. very good wedding soup and soup of the day. some different italian dishs i like are osso bucco and au provoire salmon with fig pasta pockets, you have to try this. house wine is very good and priced nicely. tuesday night is half off wine night by the glass or bottle and a good night to go as it's not as crowed as the weekend.

salmon with pasta pockets filled with figs you don't see anywhere else.
also osso bucco is something different and very good.

excellent food!!. always delicious. we go monthly. highly recommend

must go to restaurant. one of the best restaurants i have been to in a while in the pittsburgh area. the atmosphere, service andfoodis great. and the manicotti is by far the best i have ever experienced!!! a must go to restaurant!!!!
