one of our favorites!. we have never had a bad meal here. from the appetizers to the entrees, everything is fabulous! we are a big fan of the appetizers! i think we have tried almost all of them and love them all! our favorites are the poutine, the stuffed peppers and the zucchini. also love the bada bing shrimp and beans and greens. the seafood entrees have all been amazing too. we love the dinner specials and happy hour specials. rb now has my favorite burger - the gouda burger is as gouda as it gets!

we go as a couple, brought our family and friends. i bring my clients and co-workers here and they all rave about it. everyone we have turned on to this place are fans after their experience here. it's obvious the word is out, as it has become quite busy especially during the weekends. make ressies if you are going during peak times. i hear they have an amazing brunch. that is next on our list.

our service has always been top notch. our favorite server is drew. he is attentive and always pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu options.

the restaurant is designed and decorated perfectly. the front of the house is great for lunches and happy hour get togethers, while the rear of the restaurant is tastefully decorated for a quieter dining experience. super clean inside and convenient parking make this one of the best options in the area.

another great meal!. this was our second visit to romanbistroand it certainly won't be our last! we enjoyed the gouda burger and the blackened prime rib sandwich along with the poutine. our son had the wings and pasta. we are already planning on a return visit soon with friends. happy hour specials are great!

forest hills favorite. we were pleasantly surprised by our recent experience at roman bistro. we were looking for an italian restaurant with some seafood options for an anniversary celebration. there were 4 in our dining party on a friday night.

as you enter, there is a spacious hostess area directly across from the bar. the bar area was busy and there was also a front dining area that appeared to be filled. we arrived around 6:30 and the place was very active, but we were seated immediately. there were several dining areas in the back which provided for a more quiet dining experience for families or couples wanting to actually converse. the decor was tastefully done throughout the entire restaurant. i was impressed.

they offered some daily blackboard specials that sounded interesting. the menu had a wide variety of italian dishes, seafood, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, salads, etc. there is something for everyone.

they offer a vast selection of craft beers and even have a cigar shop. the guys sampled some of the beer, we ladies opted for a pitcher of the house made sangria which was tasty.

we choose to try the roman style poutine for an appetizer. it was different than other poutines you may have tried, but this was amazing. we could not stop eating it!

for our entrees, 2 of us went with one of specials, halibut with sweet chili sauce. it came with white rice and snow peas. it was cooked perfectly. i only wish there would have been more of the chili sauce.

our other entrees were the sausage and gnocchi in vodka sauce - very tasty and the chicken romano which was plated perfectly and was reported as delicious.

we all ended our meal by sharing a dessert of tiramisu. it was delish.

our service was efficient, friendly and attentive.

finally, a place to go for dinner in the area that you can be sure to find a meal that will satisfy anyone in your group. prices are what you would expect for what you would select from burgers to "foodie fabulous" dining. i would recommend to others and would not hesitate to go again.

we were at romanbistroon sunday, oct. 4th. we had a wonderful meal. outstanding meal, but the service was very poor. our server was missing when we asked him for cheese and a spoon to eat the very good sauce in the bottom of the dish. we asked another server he never came back either. we had birthday party's and mother's day dinners there so we are good patrons.

our server finally appeared when we were half way finished with out meal only to see him visiting and sitting talking to his  friends at a table by the window. asked again for cheese and a spoon, he returned more than 5 mins. later, much to late. our food was a 5.0, service was1.0.

romanbistrohas had mixed reviews from the public since it's opening a few years ago. when i was in romanbistrolast week it was pretty good! the food was excellent.  the service was wonderful.  we had a very nice waitress and she was very professional and polite. she kept checking in on us.  the only drawback i find about romanbistrois that it's a noisy place.  we were seated at a table near the bar which had tvs (i lost count on how many) and people talking quite loudly.  but.. i'm willing to bet that the other area of romanbistrois a little quieter.   in any case, i'd go back again-- hopefully i'll get the same service i had last week. :)

excellent meal. very enjoyable dining experience, arrived early for our reservation and had a short wait for our table. greeters were friendly, drew our waiter was also friendly and attentive throughout the evening. fried zucchini had the right amount of batter coating and therefore not too heavy. my beet salad with spinach, arugula and goat cheese was divine (well presented too) my wife had the house salad and is good too... love the lemon basil dressing that accompanies each salad. my entrée a special was lemon and rosemary encrusted halibut was complimented by a wonderful tomato risotto with a pesto sauce on the side. wonderful combination of flavors and each did not overpower the taste of the others on the plate. my wife had the pappardelle pasta with a short rib bolognese sauce, the pasta was a little on the chewy side but the wonderful rich sauce more than made up for that. over the last few years we have been to brunch here, to functions and group events as well normal restaurant dining and every time and everything has been good. buon appetito!

worthy successor to bacchus. i missed having bacchus in forest hills, so was excited when a new similarbistrostyled restaurant finally emerged from the brick and mortar of the same building. dined there without reservation on an early friday evening. parking lot was quite full and restaurant was quite busy too though there were a few empty tables and we were able to be seated right away. there are 2 dining areas (not sure why the hostess station has to be situated on the far side of the room when you walk in the door!.) anyway the restaurant and bar set is very akin to bacchus. (i love both for atmosphere.) greet staff and waitress are welcoming friendly and attentive. ordered 2 small plates for starters.... the assorted hummus plate and the p.e.i. mussels... both hardly small plates as each could be a meal in themselves.... the 3 different hummus were plentiful to share and good though the flatbread/pita points appeared to be flash deep fried and would have been happy to have plain or lightly toasted pita bread instead. the ipa beer broth the mussels came in gave them too much of a bitter taste for my liking so not convinced that combination works. i had the mufaletta, though rather pricey as sandwich, it was very good especially with the olive tappenade and the fries were good also. my wife had the tagliarini pasta entree which is home made as is the sauce, though strong with garlic, was excellent. the beer selections were quite extensive and a lot of bottled craft beers that were reasonably priced, most between $4 and $6 a bottle.... plenty of draft selection too...the positives of our dining experience far outweigh the negatives, so will be back soon.

we have been here twice. this is an update to my previous review. we didn't have a great experience the last time. we often think of giving this restaurant another try because it is so close and it is alway busy. the parking lot is always full. tonight was no exception. this place was buzzing with activity.

romanbistrohas a great selections of beer, wine, and everything else you could want to compliment your meal.

we each had an appetizer. we both had beer. my husband had the bada- bing shrimp appetizer. he thought they were excellent and a perfect portion size. i had fried zucchini. lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and delicious marinara and horseradish sauces on the side.

entrees were mixed. i had the butternut squash ravioli. they were flavorful and surrounded by a nice light sauce and vegetables. i am not sure if they were homemade. they were a little "perfect". it came with a disappointing and overcooked side of veggies. a salad would have been much better. i noticed many little veggie sides going out, but none we really being consumed. my husband's dinner was a total disappointment. he had the chicken romano. it was very thickly breaded and the sauce was incredibly thick making the pasta stick together. he said it also tasted like flour. the flour taste was to pervasive that he only ate about half. he said it wasn't worth taking home leftovers.

our waiter, brandon, was great. he is friendly and knows the menu.

the noise level in the bar area is crazy. when we arrived, the music was so loud we could barely have a conversation. televisions are on nearly every single wall. i think there were five above the bar. it is very distracting.

we have decided that we probably wouldn't visit for dinner again. however, we would gladly return for a couple of drinks and appetizers.

note: i had written a review before, but don't seem to see it. in that review i had also mentioned noise and inconsistent food. we also had an issue with service. while food still seems inconsistent, things definitely seem better. our first visit was in the early weeks of opening and we should have given it a try again sooner, but sour experience really had an impact. it took some effort to try again.

diner from pittsburgh. we took some friends to romanbistrofor sunday brunch and were very pleased with both the variety of food and the price of the brunch. our party of 6 was seated quickly, considering that the restaurant was busy, and our server was very attentive and friendly. we have eaten at the romanbistromany times and, with only a few exceptions, have been extremely satisfied with both the service and the food. even when the meal was not quite up to par, we have always received satisfactory attention to our concerns from the shift manager, which is one of the reasons we continue to eat at the roman bistro.

romanbistrohas a gluten free menu; just inquire. they have a few appetizers, salads, and entrees that are gluten free. i wasn't expecting to see crab cakes on the gluten free menu and that peaked my interest.  it's not every day you can order gluten free crab cakes at a restaurant. the menu said to pre order the crab cakes, so i asked the waitress how far in advance i needed to order them.  did i have to order them before i arrived? could i order them now? she checked with the kitchen and told me i cold order them now and they would be ready with the rest of the table's entrees.  great! i knew what i wanted. the lemon risotto was amazing.  it was just the right consistency, have the perfect amount of tangy lemon, and the cheese complimented the rice so well.  the broccoli was steamed and still crisp. the crab cakes, however, were hard and had the texture of a kaiser roll.  it's not what i prefer in a crab cake.  it was more like a crabby cheddar puff.  sure there was
