rockpool bar & grill

definately a must do for any sydney sider. wow was my reaction walking into the rockpool bar & grill, situated in a beautifully designed art-deco building you cant help but feel your eating in the most lavish restaurant in gotham or the bank in harry potter it truly is something else.
now im not lying when i say i had the best steak of my life here, im talking eyes closed, moaning the whole "shibang" and it wasn't even the most expensive one. i started with the king prawns which were delish and ended with the mouse which once again was outrageously good.
theservicecomplemented the food and building, the waiters were colour coded so u picked up pretty fast who was good for what, and they came in at the perfect moments, never interupting and always friendly. i wasnt waiting around or trying to get anyones attention the team was on the ball.
ive fined dined in a few establishments around town "quay" being one of them but i have to say rockpool bar and grill takes the cake.

fallen in love. had an awesome dining experience at rockpool sydney. theservicewas great, our waitress "mina" was so friendly and helpful that she added to making our night pleasant. i ordered the pumpkin ravioli with sage and burnt butter followed by the steak and a couple of sides and even though i was about to explode from having eaten so much, i had to tase a dessert so finished off my meal with lemon curd doughnuts and a peppermint tea to help me digest!!!
added to my excitment was the fact kerry anne kennerly was sitting on the table next to ours.
the food, service, ambience and energy was all positive in this restaurant. cant wait to try melbourne's rockpool next!!!

from the exterior to interior it felt as if i was in a classic american movie. staff were all dressed in white suits matching the theme. the high ceiling and large floor space diffused chatter of neighbouring diners.servicequality was exceptional by any standards and i cannot be anymore satisfied.

for starters, both the fig with stracciatella and beef tartare were superb dishes, perfect balance of flavours and textures. suddenly, the main course were all served at the same time. wagyu pappardelle was one of my favourites, fresh pasta was tender yet had a springy texture, it had a wonderful mild and warm wagyu ragu to match. horseradish with the cape grim 36month grass fed rib eye steak was a match made in heaven. mixed mushrooms and brussel sprout with speck sides were far too salty. i walked in with a frown but left smiling, what more can i ask.

what a wonderful meal. our entrees, mains & dessert were all divine. theservicewas also impeccable. highly recommend the seafood stew.

nice evening in a beautiful setting. it's amazing to see how far rockpool has come since opening this bar and grill years ago.servicedoesn't seem as refined as it used to be. which is a shame as i always felt sharpservicewas the basis of their reputation. they are selective in acknowledging special occasions as they acknowledged the birthday next to us but not for our table although they even acknowledged it at reconfirmation. its hard to justify the meal as at bridgeroom the food is more exciting and theserviceis far better, for less you can have an exciting meal at lumi or a better steak at firedoor. it was a nice night with nothing to wow about the day after. nothing bad at all but if you have been here numerous times in the past, there is a little pain in your heart as you realise thatserviceexecution is no longer a focal point of one of our biggest brands in upscale dining.

are pretty much guaranteed to get amazing food when you come here. the venue is great because, even though there are heaps and  heaps  of tables (there’s even a secret upstairs balcony you can dine on!) it still retains a hushed sense of dignity and you don’t feel like you’re eating with the crowds. theserviceis impeccable – rarely have i seen such greatservicein sydney. best to book here though, even on a monday night this place was packed with (what i presume to be) the usual crowd of post-work revellers. what we ate: the mother, ds and i shared two entrees to start off with. their portions are really generous; another refre

over all i would not recommend this restaurant but maybe they would be better of making it into a take away shop so that their incompetency wouldn't shine as bright. from start to finish they have managed to convince me that nothing they have is worth serving and theirserviceis in desperate need of professional training.

great food, friendlyserviceand a nice setup where we were placed on a balcony above other guests. if i had to pick on one thing, i'd say the lighting is a bit dull.

well organised, well customerserviceand dining was fabulous. love the art deco design interior which makes it looks like the restaurant coming out of the ‘great gatsby’ movie. over ordered too much cause the menu sounds so good, hence ordering with our eyes on what is perfect for dinner. overall finished everything and loved the place. would come again and try more of the seafood selections. thanks again for the service.

my 30th birthday at one of my all time fave sydney restaurants this weekend in a private room: i can not wait!

dinner date.service- 10/10
food - 8/10, great food but nothing special
drinks - 9/10, extensive menu with non-alcoholic options
ambiance - 8/10, tables were too close and no privacy (had to hear about how the woman on the adjacent table watched shahs of sunset..)

global hq it is. superb dining room, a menu where you want everything you read. you can't beat the rib eye off the grill here (is there a better steak in sydney cbd?). just don't look at the prices.servicethis time a bit off the mark.

i hadn’t been to rockpool bar & grill for a few years. i think it was 2016. and i am glad i returned today. theserviceis impeccable and the food was as delicious as i had remembered. rather than a steak i chose the king george whiting (pictured) which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. the other highlight for me was the custard & date tart (pictured). just luscious.

it’s definitely one of my favourite buildings - an art deco lovers paradise and i will definitely not be waiting 3 years to return again. #rockpoolbarandgrill

possibly the most tasteless expensive steak i have ever been served.

i dined here on a friday night with a friend. we were warmly greeted and offered water and bread once we were seated at the table. for starters we had the clyde and shoalhaven oysters ($5.50 each) served fresh with a drizzle of a vinegar based sauce and lemon. i preferred the shoalhaven ones which had a fresher taste as opposed to a more salty ocean taste like the clyde ones. my other starter was the tuna tartare with moroccon eggplant ($39). the portion was quite generous with tuna and there was so much flavour on the plate, i couldn't fault it. we also had the lobster ($180) which was so rich with flavour, buttery and everything you would want with a lobster. for the main we shared the cape grim 36 month aged rib eye on the bone ($68) with a side of creamed corn with chilli ($16). the steak was cooked perfectly, melted in the mouth and didn't need any condiments. the corn worked as a fabulous side dish as we were already getting quite full from the entrees and so wanted a lighter accompaniment than potatoes. for the dessert we had the strawberry and rhubarb pudding with vanilla sauce ($26) which was baked to order, light, fluffy and filled with gorgeous rhubarb and strawberry in the centre to balance out the sweetness. we had a fantastic selection of wines to accompany the meal and would like to personally thank our soms justin and michele for their excellentserviceon the night. i will be returning again with my family for the next special occasion.
