good, not great and in a city with plenty of good bbq, that's a problem.ribsand pulled pork were slightly dry. the chicken was moist and tender. the fries and beans were above average.

every barbecue lover’s delight: small, off the beaten track place withribsthat almost fall off the bone; tender, moist chicken with great smoke flavor, and a choice of sauces. their weekend brunch gets rave reviews from my neighbors, though i’ve not (yet) tried it.

great ribs! the burnt ends are terrific as well. i've tried a lot of bbq in kansas city and this is far and away the best. good smoke flavor without being over powering. perfectly tender,ribspull off the bone easily/cleanly. strong game with the sides also.

cozy and fun atmosphere, good for kids as well. very nice staff. the food was fresh, served in a timely manner and absolutely delicious. definitely recommend theribsand their soups are surprisingly hearty and filling. can't go wrong with basically anything on their menu. terrific barbecue restaurant, one that stands out in a city full of great ones. very impressed.

disrespected. i felt disrespected when i asked for a booth instead of a table for four. i was told "we can't sit a party of one at a booth during lunch time, we just can't". however, a table for four is okay? if theirribsweren't so dry and burnt to the point of being crunchy the last time i ate there i may have stayed.

worst we've ever had. made the mistake of trusting guy fieri and talking my wife into trying rj's
first, the ribs, st. louis style, dry and burnt to the point of being crunchy. absolutely the worstribsi have ever had, anywhere, including backyard bbqs with relatives!
crab gumbo, ok but very bland.
signature jalapeno sausage $5.95, very small, unremarkable, bland.
i wanted the waitress to explain to my wife the difference between baby back, spareribsand st. louis, (all were on the menu) she had no clue!
she wanted to know what side we wanted with the rib slab, i told her the menu said whole slabs were ala carte, she insisted i was wrong so we ordered the cajun rice pilaf. nearly inedible, not because of the hot spice, i like it hot, it just tasted bitter, powdery and terrible.
you can guess what comes next, we were carged extra for the rice!
yeah, i didn't request that was coming off our bill, i told her it was coming off.
my wife hates the food channel, i will be hearing about this for a long time.

dont waste ur money. our waitress lynzee was rude and unattendive. the restuarant was out of lemonade, steak soup, and porkribsthat promped our visit to the restuarant after watching guy fieri's show on tv. the barbeque chicken wings that my husband had were so bad he ouldnt eat them... nothin like cold sauce on warm wings! my daughter had the kids meal mac and cheese... it was hot but looked like it had been sitting around for weeks. my son had the chicken fingers and fries, it was ok but he could have had the same thing at a ball game. i had babyback ribs, they were very tender but dry. we'll have smokin guns next time we go out... but theres always the old stand by gates bbq! disappointed.... management fyi after being on a national tv show, i would not run out of the items that were highlighted on that show. by friday at 5 pm and the restuarant wasnt full at all.

great barbeque. i'll admit it - i really dislike kc barbeque. it's over-smoked and over tomatoed. i'm from california, and barbeque is simply grilling meat on a grill, free from any distractions. but i had family arriving from out of town last night, and they wanted kc barbeque, so we decided to try rj's. what a surprise! the food was wonderful. i had the three rib platter with a baked potato and the sauteed spinach. best spinach ever. and theribswere not so smoked that you couldn't taste the meat. ambiance was pretty typical for a barbeque joint, but the staff was prompt and friendly. and they do catering - something i'll think of in the future. i'll definitely share this with friends.
