not impressed. i was very let down by the food. i had heard how good it was but no one in our party enjoyed it at all. i do need to say that the service was very good though.

go right now! but only if it is an "off-hour." we've heard rumors that this place can get insanely busy, and since they don't do reservations, you can end up waiting up to 45 minutes. however, this didn't happen to us any of the 3 times we went, so maybe we just lucked out! but to ensure a perfect mexican dining experience, try going for a late lunch or an early dinner. there is enough food to fill you up for two meals worth, so it works out great! this is a restaurant that totally lives up to the hype, if you ask me!

family, food, friends and fun - these are the things i associate with the red iguana. pick a location. bring your friends and family and expect to have fun. make some memories of your own. you’ll not be disappointed!

too big for their burritos.. the last time i ate the red iguana was in 1994, it was wonderful! a nice out of the mainstream mexican restaurant with authentic moles and mexican food that was to die for.

as always word gets out and places become victims of their own successes. that is what's happening with red iguana, it has become almost unmanageable.

the lines are long to get in, and they now have three different places to eat at. the kitchen is overwhelmed trying to serve too many people. i found the moles to be as wonderful as they were in 1995, but the pork in the mole was dried out an tough!! the mole coloradita would have been much better with succulent juicy pork.

i can only hope this is not a sign of the iguana going down hill from four stars to three.

heaven on earth?. red iguana is one of my favorite places to eat in the world. i am a big fan of mole and they are mole artists!

the most amazing mexican food. i've gone to this restaurant a number of times over the past twenty or so years and have never been disappointed. the moles are amazing, the chilis and tacos are incredible, and even the chimichangas are done exactly like they should be. get the salmon chimi if it's available on special. but the enchiladas poblanas have got to be my personal fave.

best, auth mexican in utah. best mexican in the state of utah. yeah we all know the resturants are on the west side of town. but well worth it!!!!

so tired of the fake mexican food that is crappy quality and has no flavor at all.

mole mole mole. i loves me some mole. therefore, i love the red iguana. not only do they have mole. its fresh and their are like 7 kinds. i know, because if you don't try the sampler platter, you are nuts. in the end, i had the steak over almond mole, and am still in heaven. i went to slc on an expense account, and could have had anything in town. i had this, and am not dissapointed whatsoever.

...the resulting mole was sublime, with a complexity in each mole (spice, heat, sweetness, and savory notes) that you can taste in every single bite.

everything is good here except for their "signature dish" - pollo a la moreliana. very big, very bland, and very boring. wasted my appetite and my money on this one entree when there were eight dozen other items i would have enjoyed much more. if there were a petition to have it removed from the menu, i'd sign it.

fun restaurant with lots of yummy choices. red iguana is an institution here in salt lake, having just opened another location downtown in the new mall's food court. all the locations are fun, family-friendly, and unpretentious and the food is delicious! huge menu with just about every mexican dish you can imagine. don't forget to try one of their many yummy moles!!

when you're craving the red iguana's mole, nothing can satisfy except the thing itself. you can never go wrong with the amarillo. the seasonal strawberry is also sinfully delectable. i was with a friend when he bought some to take to his fishing captain in alaska. it was no short of gold up there. once with a buddy we were given this little area that seated only a table for two. if i had been wanting a romantic moment it would have been perfect. either way, it rocked.

i got the chimichangas and the chimichangas were great. the sauce on top was a red sauce and it was sweet... too sweet. i've eaten a lot of mexican food and never anything like it. wasn't a fan of a sweet sauce smothering my food. didn't come with rice or beans. i probably won't go back.

best food ever!. this place is amazing! i have been eating here a lot more frequently lately and every dish i try is amazing. i have been to a few other mexican restaurants since and i honestly almost can't eat other mexican food now just because i'm used to the top notch mexican food at red igauna. i would recommend this place to anyone! tourist attraction!
