red hot & blue

not reccomended. born in memphis, tn, raised in nc... i like to think i know something about bbq. i wish i could critique the chopped carolina pork but there wasn't enough on the sandwich to judge. the chili was made of tomatoes and onions... so little meat i don't think it was worth $4. the cole slaw has zero flavor... absolutely zero. thepotatosalad wasn't too bad though. won't be coming back, which stinks because there aren't too many bbq places around.

good food change of pace. this past sunday the family visited red hot & blue after a multi-year hiatus. there was no real reason we stopped going. it just happened. today we stopped back. the inside layout still has the rock band pig decor. it's pleasant and enjoyable but tired.

we were seated quickly and served by a great guy that knew his job. he took the time to re-orient us to their menu. specifically, it was nice to know they consider themselves a memphis style of bbq.

we ordered a brisket potato, brunswick stew, pulled pork sandwich and chicken fried steak. the stew was tops! it had pulled beef, chicken and pork in a tomato base. it was great. my sandwich was filled with tender pulled pork. i liked the coleslaw (memphis style). thepotatowas well done and balanced to have extra toppings with each bite. the chicken fried steak was chewy. we did not finish it. thepotatosalad was not hot or cold and didn't have much flavor.

it was a really nice visit with tasty food. they could cut back on the portions and lower the price. it was a lot of food, too much. i'll give a pass on the bad fried steak. that happens more often than not. i know not to order that unless i have heard first hand it is good.

awful!!!!! pulled pork is incredibly dry.potatosalad is bland, served warm and has huge chunks of egg. baked beans taste like pork 'n beans. overall service was fair but food was less than desirable!!! don't waste your time or money!

love thepotatosalad! service is always amazing and i recommend the half chicken and fried fish. it's a southern feel in laurel.

memphis 'cue in texas. i've enjoyed red, hot, & blue since going to the grand opening of their first store on wilson bv. in arlington, va. back then they advertised that they used the recipes and methods of corky's of memphis.

i love their pulled pork; their sides are uniformly tasty - even memorable especially the baked beans andpotatosalad. and, it's nice to have table service.

good stuff!. finally someone who knows how to serve ice tea! you get your own pitcher, so they aren't constantly ruining your mixture, adding too much ice or leave you sitting forever waiting for someone to refill your tiny glass.

ok, sorry for the sidebar... the food is really good. i expected a chain type bar-b-que, but the ribs are the best i've had at a restaurant (get the dry rub) and the sausage is great! thepotatosalad is also a must. i've been to all the holes in the wall joints and i know you're supposed to say they all have the best ribs... but these fell off the bone, had tons of meat and dry rub is great.
