great service, fast food, amazing atmosphere!. me and my husband come here all the time with our kids, we absolutely love this place and we have to get the fish tacos anytime we're down at the beach. our recent trip here was an absolute blast, from the sweet little asian hostess, who made sure we got a great table protected from the crazy winds and explained all the specials to us in detail. to the fantastic girl at the gift shop brittany who helped my daughter pick out a present for her father. our server was a tad bit rude, a boy named cory, but he may have been new as he didn't seem to be very confident in his serving. overall, this restaurant is always a delicious treat with an amazing view. if you want great food and even better service, our family wholeheartedly recommends this place.

plus the kids will actually eat something other than chicken fingers for once!

great atmosphere, below average food. as locals who get a little tired of the redneck riviera atmosphere, we were so excited to see red fish blue fish try something different on pensacola beach. and they have hit it out of the park for a funky decor and excellent location. but all in all we were really disappointed at our first trip there. the bottom line is the food was pretty lousy, but read on for more details.

for a place that is built from recycled shipping containers and recycled indonesian tsunami wood furniture, and then serves everything in plastic cups, silverware, and canned beers, you'd think they would offer recycling for their own trash. but you'd be wrong. maybe pcb or gulf breeze doesn't offer it in that area, but it sure seems at odds with the restaurant theme.

now for the food. my nola fries were edible, but seemed like a concoction born from a hungover college student who raided the kitchen for leftovers. good fries but very greasy, with sausage and shrimp, but then imagine dumping some old, burnt spaghetti sauce all over it. i'm all about experiments with french fries, but this one wasn't a winner for me.

next "tropical" fish tacos. the fish was local and tasted fresh. but cheap shredded cheddar cheese on a fish taco? much less a tropical fish taco? no crunchy fresh shredded cabbage, just a chunck of fish with cheese and a dollop of a possibly interesting sauce. i say possibly because there wasn't enough to taste it over the cheese.

to be fair, my wife had a much better experience with her cold noodle salad. very yummy!

yes we were disappointed, but we will definitely go back and try again. the place has so much charm and atmosphere and pensacola needs far more places like this. just please please hire a chef!

great family restaurant!!. great atmosphere for families! awesome service! menu not overwhelming and very budget friendly. will go back again for sure!!

beware! bad work environment!

hostess makes announcement: “we will not seat you in the rain. we will take your order and give you take-out boxes”. however they will seat you in the rain! and when you ask for an umbrella (which all the current tables have except for your new table in the rain), they say they have no umbrellas available and their take-out policy is waived. they do seat you in the rain! and they do not offer take-out boxes!

hostess had zero support from server (brennan) when she asked him for help and the manager did not even listen to her issue or care about it. the server nor manager had any care of this problem or this situation…. literally, the manager did not care about the rain, the umbrella or the supposed “take-out food”
policy that they announced. i feel bad for the 16/17-ish year old hostess trying to resolve a customer issue and having zero help from servers and upper level management.

i used to be a hostess & server in college and this truly upset me at #redfishbluefish. lack of team player atmosphere. awful. do not support this awful work environment

they got the atmosphere right. they got the server right. they got the fish so wrong! three of us ordered gator bites, and fish & chips. horribly over-fried mahi mahi, thick strips so that we decided to peel off the dark brown coating and left it behind to get a few bites of the bad textured fish. the gator bites just about dry-crumbled from being so overcooked. it was our 6th time there since they first opened a few yrs ago. the first fish n chips we had grouper and it was wonderful. don't know if mahi mahi is good for fish & chips but don't over-fry! don't serve it if it looks overcooked! start again. if you are going to serve fish n chips then learn how to cook fish first! timing is key. oil condition is key. you did not make our tourist friends smile this time. and your prices are not cheap so they didn't want a second meal there and we went to mcguires on fri for their perfectly done fish n chips. we want to love redfishbluefish but won't pay for meals like we got.

red fish blue fish was not a good restuarant to eat. they served red fish which was dry, tough and had an old flavor. they used it in all their fish dishes, my husbands fish tacos as well as my fish sandwich!! my sisters french fries were burned as the above picture shows, and if it weren’t for my coleslaw, which was okay, and the extra pickles i ordered, i wouldnt have been able to choke it down—old tough fish for 17.00 for the sandwich and 20.00 for not so good fish tacos!!
and we waited almost an hour to get our food!!!
i would have been much happier at crabs!!! excellent sandwich for only 11.99; which i ate 3 days earlier!!
arby’s and burger king are looking a lot more attractive after that bad experience!! 2 fish taco meals and2 fish burger meals—better part of 100.00–for lunch?!?! what a ripoff!!!

catchy name, boring menu, ok service. not the worst we had on vacation but not a favorite either. would probably not pick this one again. 🏖🏖🏖

red fish blue fish has a wonderful atmosphere, and is a great place to bring the kids or come for a long relaxing meal with friends. their menu has a variety of options to suit any preference, but the quality of the food is lacking. the food isn't bad, but it definitely isn't good either. burgers are often over-cooked, and i've had some ridiculously mushy rice there.

lol at this place! this was the worst dining experience i have ever had. not only was the server rude, the restaurant outside smells like trash. when requesting to switch tables got nothing but rude service and attitude. why would i want to spend $20.00 plus on food when my appetite is lost due to smelling trash?!?
i must say, the bar staff was excellent while waiting for this horrible experience. if you decide to dine at this place, you have to try the overpriced bucket of rum with fresh fruit. you know, the one for $14.25 that the top portion spills out to inadequate cup design.
but seriously, bar staff you guys were great.
to this complete let down of an experience that some may call a nice restaurant...to the manager suzanne, i am a customer you claim there was a miscommunication about our seating, that is not my problem. its yours, you are the manager. you need to do your job. please for the love of all things holy.. please coach your staff on how to treat others because guess what, at the same time we walked out dissatisfied by your staff so did another group. sounds like something needs to change, don't you think?
too bad i did not have an appetite to try your food because of the dumpster you guys sat my party beside.

helpful tip if you try this horrid place, i suggest you take advantage of the "no wait" app pensacola offers its visitors. had i not waited an hour before walking to this restaurant a lot more would have been said. we had to wait 30 minutes even after being "next" in line on the app.

good food, nice waterfront casual dining right on the santa rosa sound on pensacola beach. nice funky decor and decent menu. food is good, but a little bit pricey.

i ate here while visiting home, and friends.  it was good, nothing special.  i ordered oysters and of all the spots i had oysters this place was just good, not fantastic.

fantastic food and atmosphere!!! the food was really good and pretty reasonably priced! it has outdoor games for you to play and the seating of neat as well! our waiter was very helpful since this was our first time coming here! i would highly recommend you checking it out!

what a treat! we turned in at the shrimp basket and saw red fish blue fish across the parking lot. it had been recommended by several friends, so we were delighted. we had our dog with us and we're all welcomed. seated on the back lawn by the dunes and sound, the surroundings were perfect. our waiter, chris, was friendly and welcoming and worth asking for, and at our request, shared all his favourites on the menu. we also learned that there isn't a freezer or microwave in the restaurant. everything is prepared to order. most of their dressings and all their salsas and sauces are made on site. two of us got the louisiana style fried shrimp and the other the carne soft tacos. the shrimp were so perfect, lightly breaded and cooked just right without a hint of grease. they were served with enough hand cut fries for the entire group in each basket. the soft tacos lived up to chris' recommendation. the carne meat was delicious on its own but with the added sauce, avocado,...it was delectable. it's now our favourite restaurant at the beach, with flounders a close second. and chris--you just have to meet him!😊

the new menu was a success. they still had some of the old dishes that were even better than before.
my personal favorite was the crab cakes.
they were light & fluffy with lots of flavor; not a lot of breading which is a plus in crafting the perfect consistently. we also enjoyed the numerous variety of fresh fish that they catch daily.
i had the grilled grouper served with sticky rice & asparagus. it came with the most delicious white sauce. 👌🏽

it's a five star in perfectly prepared & seasoned food with a highly attentive staff.
our waitress was dayna. she was excellent!

the atmosphere was really nice too with a lovely casual dock style setting overlooking the water.
we enjoyed the cool breeze at our table.
overall the food was outstanding, it had great music, & exceptional service that everyone should go experience.

good food, good atmosphere. we had nachos and calamari for appetizer and they were great. my husband had the fish tacos and they were good. the menu has changed a lot since what was posted on this app. i had a chicken sandwich that was delicious as well. menu was a little limited which is the only reason not a 5.0. we would love to go back.
