nice atmosphere.............. great outdoor atmosphere overlooking the sound. great place for a cocktail while watching the sunset. limited menu, only tried thefishtaco's which were pretty good.

one of my favorite places to eat!. atmosphere is great, food is excellent & our service has always been top notch! we've eaten at redfishbluefishtwice in the last month & just took out of town guests last week. they have decided this is one of their favorite places as well! i get the yum yum grilled shrimp, my husband usually orders fried oysters. we've not been disappointed yet!!

we stopped in for dinner. cute setting that overlooked the bay. service was very nice and quick! my husband had thefishtacos and i had the yum fish. it was very delicious! the sauce on the rice and asparagus was amazing!!

greasyfishbad service. shortly after we got our table the waitress drops a glass of ice on my one year old grandson. not even an i'm sorry! then i order the tempura codfishand when it arrives it's a pile of greasy battered fish. i express my disappointment to the waitress only to get a smart answer like "well it's fried in grease". needless to say i didnt return there to eat again and wouldn't recommend it to my worse enemy.

nice environment but overpriced. first time to redfishbluefishand most likely the last. the staff was friendly and the view was great. the only complaint i have was the food volume for the price charged. i got the half and half basket ($14) and it was filled mostly with fries but very few fried oysters and shrimp.

great service, fast food, amazing atmosphere!. me and my husband come here all the time with our kids, we absolutely love this place and we have to get thefishtacos anytime we're down at the beach. our recent trip here was an absolute blast, from the sweet little asian hostess, who made sure we got a great table protected from the crazy winds and explained all the specials to us in detail. to the fantastic girl at the gift shop brittany who helped my daughter pick out a present for her father. our server was a tad bit rude, a boy named cory, but he may have been new as he didn't seem to be very confident in his serving. overall, this restaurant is always a delicious treat with an amazing view. if you want great food and even better service, our family wholeheartedly recommends this place.

plus the kids will actually eat something other than chicken fingers for once!

great atmosphere, below average food. as locals who get a little tired of the redneck riviera atmosphere, we were so excited to see redfishbluefishtry something different on pensacola beach. and they have hit it out of the park for a funky decor and excellent location. but all in all we were really disappointed at our first trip there. the bottom line is the food was pretty lousy, but read on for more details.

for a place that is built from recycled shipping containers and recycled indonesian tsunami wood furniture, and then serves everything in plastic cups, silverware, and canned beers, you'd think they would offer recycling for their own trash. but you'd be wrong. maybe pcb or gulf breeze doesn't offer it in that area, but it sure seems at odds with the restaurant theme.

now for the food. my nola fries were edible, but seemed like a concoction born from a hungover college student who raided the kitchen for leftovers. good fries but very greasy, with sausage and shrimp, but then imagine dumping some old, burnt spaghetti sauce all over it. i'm all about experiments with french fries, but this one wasn't a winner for me.

next "tropical"fishtacos. thefishwas local and tasted fresh. but cheap shredded cheddar cheese on afishtaco? much less a tropicalfishtaco? no crunchy fresh shredded cabbage, just a chunck offishwith cheese and a dollop of a possibly interesting sauce. i say possibly because there wasn't enough to taste it over the cheese.

to be fair, my wife had a much better experience with her cold noodle salad. very yummy!

yes we were disappointed, but we will definitely go back and try again. the place has so much charm and atmosphere and pensacola needs far more places like this. just please please hire a chef!

they got the atmosphere right. they got the server right. they got thefishso wrong! three of us ordered gator bites, andfish& chips. horribly over-fried mahi mahi, thick strips so that we decided to peel off the dark brown coating and left it behind to get a few bites of the bad textured fish. the gator bites just about dry-crumbled from being so overcooked. it was our 6th time there since they first opened a few yrs ago. the firstfishn chips we had grouper and it was wonderful. don't know if mahi mahi is good forfish& chips but don't over-fry! don't serve it if it looks overcooked! start again. if you are going to servefishn chips then learn how to cookfishfirst! timing is key. oil condition is key. you did not make our tourist friends smile this time. and your prices are not cheap so they didn't want a second meal there and we went to mcguires on fri for their perfectly donefishn chips. we want to love redfishbluefish but won't pay for meals like we got.

redfishbluefishwas not a good restuarant to eat. they served redfishwhich was dry, tough and had an old flavor. they used it in all theirfishdishes, my husbandsfishtacos as well as myfishsandwich!! my sisters french fries were burned as the above picture shows, and if it weren’t for my coleslaw, which was okay, and the extra pickles i ordered, i wouldnt have been able to choke it down—old toughfishfor 17.00 for the sandwich and 20.00 for not so goodfishtacos!!
and we waited almost an hour to get our food!!!
i would have been much happier at crabs!!! excellent sandwich for only 11.99; which i ate 3 days earlier!!
arby’s and burger king are looking a lot more attractive after that bad experience!! 2fishtaco meals and2fishburger meals—better part of 100.00–for lunch?!?! what a ripoff!!!

redfishbluefishhas a wonderful atmosphere, and is a great place to bring the kids or come for a long relaxing meal with friends. their menu has a variety of options to suit any preference, but the quality of the food is lacking. the food isn't bad, but it definitely isn't good either. burgers are often over-cooked, and i've had some ridiculously mushy rice there.

what a treat! we turned in at the shrimp basket and saw redfishbluefishacross the parking lot. it had been recommended by several friends, so we were delighted. we had our dog with us and we're all welcomed. seated on the back lawn by the dunes and sound, the surroundings were perfect. our waiter, chris, was friendly and welcoming and worth asking for, and at our request, shared all his favourites on the menu. we also learned that there isn't a freezer or microwave in the restaurant. everything is prepared to order. most of their dressings and all their salsas and sauces are made on site. two of us got the louisiana style fried shrimp and the other the carne soft tacos. the shrimp were so perfect, lightly breaded and cooked just right without a hint of grease. they were served with enough hand cut fries for the entire group in each basket. the soft tacos lived up to chris' recommendation. the carne meat was delicious on its own but with the added sauce, avocado,...it was delectable. it's now our favourite restaurant at the beach, with flounders a close second. and chris--you just have to meet him!😊

the new menu was a success. they still had some of the old dishes that were even better than before.
my personal favorite was the crab cakes.
they were light & fluffy with lots of flavor; not a lot of breading which is a plus in crafting the perfect consistently. we also enjoyed the numerous variety of freshfishthat they catch daily.
i had the grilled grouper served with sticky rice & asparagus. it came with the most delicious white sauce. 👌🏽

the atmosphere was really nice too with a lovely casual dock style setting overlooking the water.

good food, good atmosphere. we had nachos and calamari for appetizer and they were great. my husband had thefishtacos and they were good. the menu has changed a lot since what was posted on this app. i had a chicken sandwich that was delicious as well. menu was a little limited which is the only reason not a 5.0. we would love to go back.

average food but service was good. loved the atmosphere and outdoor seating. live band was entertaining. not a fan of their yum sauce.fishtasted fresh but bland especially since i ordered it blackened. fries were edible and my husband's burger was pretty good. he opted for the bacon and egg on top of his burger and it really didn't make a noticeable difference in terms of flavor. there was a slight rancid smell from the egg yolk though. an hour later back at the hotel, my stomach felt like it was attacked. just to be safe, avoid the "over easy" egg...

much improved - lovely atmosphere, good eats, great service. an update - decided to try again since it had been several months, they had recently undergone renovations, and we had a coupon. they hit the mark this time. the menu has been revamped, with more offerings. we sat in the deck chairs facing the water on an unusually warm day for january. erin, our server, greeted us immediately and provided exceptional customer service. her recommendations were spot on. the $3 strawberry margaritas were an excellent deal. the spicyfishtacos, smoky texan tacos, and bangin' shrimp appetizer were well portioned and flavorful. hope this trend continues, we will be back!

not a fan. the view and atmosphere are really nice and tranquil. that's the best i can say about purple fish. have been here several times, and find the service lackluster, food choices limited and quality just ok. want to like it but they have been open almost a year and still haven't gotten it together.
