rancho alegre cuban restaurant

we ordered from here from one of the food delivery services because we were wiped out from a day walking around town. the food was hot, fresh and fantastic. my wife had a salad that was really good and i had a sampler plate because i couldn't decide. the portions were very generous and made great leftovers too. we'll definitely order from there again the next time we're in town.

the worst experience i've ever had. got there about 7 o'clock on a weeknight place was half full still at the host station for 15 minutes waiting to be seated three waitresses and one waiter were working the floor and with that acknowledge my presence finally i noticed a possible way that didn't speak english and told him that i was looking for table and he went and got a waiter it still took the waiter another 10 minutes to come over and talk to me because he was busy talking on his cell phone on the side of the bar after the waiter spoke to me he said i'll be right back to get your table and then disappear for another 5 minutes at this point i tried to get anybody's attention and the wait staff they're all too busy involved in their own duties to bother helping a new customer i would like to eat there it was the last place on earth worst customer experience i've ever had it will tell all not to visit do not waste your time unless you have about 45 minutes just to be seated at a table on a slow weeknight

the worst experience i've ever had. on a wednesday night at 7 o'clock the restaurant was half full i patiently waited for about 15 minutes to get seated since we were the only two people standing there and plenty of waiters and waitresses were running around we figured it would be no problem

had promise.it was crowded always a good sign, but the cuban sandwich was not hot, cheese not melted, pork was cold cuts...wtf!?!? just did not deliver on the promise. sad really because i was looking forward to crispy bread, shreaded pork, and spicy mustard. i got a warm pressed cold cut sandwich on soggy bread. i wanted to like it. sorry i stopped and wasted $10 on lunch :-(

fantastic. had lunch there today after a neighbor in bluffton, sc raved about it. having lived in the tampa bay area for 10 years i visited many cuban restaurants. rancho alegre has them all beat hands down. the chicken was excellent and the grilled grouper was incredible. this is definitely on my list of favorites and i can't wait to go back for dinner when there is entertainment.

lunch was wonderful. my wife and i went for a light lunch. no such thing as light but the service and food were both excellent. we both had a tamale by i added the shredded pork and an order of yellow rice. we split the pork as well as the rice and had food left over. we will be back.

ok i guess. the ambiance was nice. they have seating around the perimeter with colored pillows along with tables, and a live band was playing. it was nice but you can't really have a conversation (a bit loud). now the food was ok. it didn't have a lot of flavor as i'm use to in nyc. the beans were good but just a small portion (maybe half a measuring cups worth or a little more). the yellow rice had mixed vegetables in it- i don't know why? (kind of like chinese rice). the ropa vieja (pulled beef in creole sauce) was ok(not a lot of spectacular flavor). i also had a mojito, which i regrettably didn't enjoy- it was way too minty and strong. it came out really fast too like pre-made or something. the tres leche cake was good.

great food good atmosphere. i've dined here once and i can not wait to return. the food was unbelievably tasty. however, it was extremely heavy and some of the dishes are greasy. but if in moderation, you have to try at least once!

it is a matter if taste. the sangria was good and the plantains were good. my husband's pork dish was tasty. i ordered the fish combo in a pineapple and thought the sauce was just so so. i understand the disappointment in the black beans-- i prefer to have the chopped onions and vinegar to go with it for a little more pizazz. the music was good, but as with most restaurants now there are no soft surfaces to mute the sound--the music was was too loud for the venue--we tried to be seated as far away as possible but it would have been better with the volume turned down about a quarter. service was good. it is a matter if taste.

hilariously terrible. the epitome of a parody: the half an hour we spent there was far too much, the meat at outback is of higher quality. a local school band would put these supposed musicians to shame. who hires a smooth jazz ensemble for a cuban restaurant?

good price.. good food. rancho alegre provided a very fun evening for me and my family. the atmosphere/ decor of the restaurant is terrific. i ordered a cuban sandwich, and it was probably the best one i have had in a long time. it was only 6.75 and came with black beans. i feel that it was worth the price. the tres leche was a delicious dessert too. i will definitely be a return customer here!

excellent home cooked, hearty cuban food. extensive wine list with generous pours by the glass. conveniently located. personable staff.

wow wow wow!!!!! this place is amazing! small and local restaurant! the food is to die for! our server was awesome! oliver was his name! my husband wanted to watch the super bowl and i wanted a good dinner! we got both! we ended our meal with the best cafe con leche i've ever had! i can't wait to come back and visit this place again!
