ramen nagi

i brought my balikbayan sister here totasteone of the finest ramen restaurants in town. she was craving for ramen on her flight going to manila so i thought of bringing her here. she ordered the original butao king and loved its rich taste. she said thatbit was even better than the ramen she ate during one of her stopover.

i always bring my boyfriend to different food places and we stumbled upon this ramen shop. we were confused at first because they don't have the ordinary menu, and the place doesn't look like the ordinary ramen shops.
we both had butao king and it was tasty! perfectly cooked noodles plus the righttasteof soup. you can also personalize your ramen, but didn't try it hahaha. the most authentic ramen shop i've been to, so far.

my ramen nagi experience was very good in terms of food service and thetasteof the ramen. i can say that it is one of the few good ramen restaurants that serves not so oily soup and firm noodles. maybe they might want to add more choices from their menu so there would be variance everytime people will visit their place. but over all, everything works out fine :)

ramen nagi has been our go-to ramen place ever since especially during the quarantine because they offered ramen kits that can be delivered and cooked at home. we love thetasteof their soup base and also the firmness of their noodles. also, love how they treat their customers well with their service when dining-in the restaurant.

this is a famous place that my parents love to visit on breaks, and they are not kidding. though the line queue is long, the food is served hot and is fresh. i loved their star salad the most, since for those who are on diet, this is for you, and with the chicken karaage, no words could describe its crispiness. overall, satisfied withtasteof their food and their ambiance. i recommend this place if you have a budget to at least try ramen once a week, since the only downside, it is pricey, yet understandable due to the ingredients.

another awesome place for jet-lag or party all night people. we were there at 9am so no line at all. it’s a really tiny shop so i could image the line getting longer during its peak time since they only have 10 seats at 2f. unlike pork or chicken broth, nagi used dried fish for their broth. very rich and special. no additional fee to add more noodles (small, normal, medium, large) but i would recommend regular unless you are super hungry. their portion is no joke. (photo is regular portion btw.) their noodles are the chewy and slightly wider type, and you cantasteregular thin one and flat one in one bowl, super interesting. highly recommended 👍  👍

tried their red king, butao, and pork cheese rolls.
the whole ordering experience is deliberate as they give us a list where we choose however our ramen is to be prepared, a must have for ramen shops. i love that they do this 💕
for red king, i've chosen 7+3 spice. but it was not that spicy for me since i prefer a really spicy one. i've had pork shoulder which was soft and melted in my mouth.
my bf ordered butao..didnttasteit but he said it was good. glad he liked it 💕
for pork rolls, they have cheese in it. badically a pork belly roll on a bed of shredded cabbage. it was good and does not feel too heavy 💕💞💞💞,💞

we ate here last night because we were craving for ramen. it was around 9pm and it was full of people. they have small tables and all of them are for sharing so it was a bit uncomfortable for us to talk because the place is not really quiet and the other people who share your table are so close that we cannot talk privately.

it was also our first time so we did not know how to customize the order because thetastemight come out a disaster so we just selected the chef's recommendation for the original butao and the black king. bothtastegood! i am not a fan of spicy food but i was actually able to finish the whole thing even if it's spicy (it's spicy for me but i think for others who are used to spicy food will say that it's just right). the meat is tender. i also like the way they cook the egg. it goes perfectly with the noodles. i also did not expect the black king totasteso good as i have not tried that flavor before.

i love the food we ordered and the way we were served. just maybe the sharing of the table is the downside to the experience but we will definitely go back here.

don't order the gyoza ❌

had an early dinner with the partner.    the tables are for shared seating.  we availed of their original king butao promo.   the customized ordering is very good. tastewas average.  we noticed a slight deterioration in the quality.  we ordered gyoza, but it didn't arrive.  price is average.

first time namin na ma-try ang ramen nagi cos we always dine sa other ramen store.

-safe naman piliin yung original king ramen nila for rookie eaters.
and the curry tama lang yung crisp niyatastegood talaga.
-medyo natagalan lang ang servings nila, gutom nadin kasi kami kaya medyo nainip.

over all experience is a yes! for me, will definitely coming back.

tried it for the first time. we ordered and the waitress asked if it's our first time. she didn't explain how to order or how to use the fill-up form on the table. next, we were having ramen and we decided to add gyoza to our order. the cook was upset because he already put away the gyoza in the freezer. which, i would like to add, did nottastegood. it was around 9pm and they close at 10pm if i remember correctly. the cook was shaking his head and asks which table ordered. while frying the gyoza, he was visibly upset, shaking his head and doing "woo" sounds.

long story short:
good ramen
bad gyoza
bad service

this isn't my first time to dine in ramen nagi. well i would say it is un robinsons place ermita branch.

i used to eat at ramen nagi sm north and i must say i really do love thetasteof their ramen. but i don't know, i am somehow not too contented with the ramen of this particular branch.

maybe because it is not served as hot as it should be, when the richness of the flavor of the soup comes out even more when it served hot. the meat was totally okay, it was delicious. the tamago, didn't make me so happy when it was the one that i always look after for. while the nori serves its purpose.

best ramen place ever! crowd favorite butao king is definitely a go-to. already tried the midori ramen as well—a rather differenttasteof ramen with a dash of pesto and parmesan cheese. will definitely try the other flavors too.
