ramen nagi is one of the first restaurant concepts that offered ramen bowls, which piqued the interest of filipinos who were used to the typical mami. albeit a bit pricier than what we're used to, ramen nagi found its way into the hearts of pinoys, young and old alike.
a couple of years after it first launched, i revisited this "classic" ramen restaurant with my close friend, e, to have a quick catch up over dinner. since it's his birth month last august, we decided to avail the buy one, get one on butao king ramen (php 390), but we split the bill (tipid hack alert!!!). 😁
when the ramen was served, i was a bit disappointed that the presentation wasn't as nice as it used to be. ☹️ i took a sip of of the soup, aaaand it was quite bland. and too oily. 🙁 in fact, i didn't finish the soup because of the oiliness!!! the noodles were firm, and the serving size of the noodles was just right. the chashu slices were a bit dry. i felt like ramen nagi's ramen is now too commercialized, so much so that it lost its authenticity already. ☹️
service was just okay. though, i was also bothered at how cramped the spaces between the tables were... i felt like my personal space was being invaded. 😅 anyway, i'd probably still visit them in the future, only if they have interesting limited king flavors. as for their butao king ramen, i'd most probably skip that next time.
giving 2.5⭐ for this visit, but rounding up since we got it for an affordable price. 😅
