ragazzi italian kitchen & bar

cozy and delicious. i've eaten at ragazzi five times now and enjoyed it every time. theserviceis wonderful and very friendly, the place is beautiful, and most importantly the food is perfect. i read a bad review of this place and it makes me question the person writing it. i love it there.

always the best!. food andserviceare always top notch, whether it be for lunch, dinner, party or other celebrations. atmosphere is beautiful, staff always friendly. my favorite restaurant!!

birthday dinner... my sister and brother in law took me here for my birthday.. excellent food,serviceand the owner introduced himself and bought us an after dinner drink..clean really nice classy place..

one of the best italian restaurants around. my wife and i frequently dine at ragazzi. their food is always goos andserviceis excellent.

pleasant surprise. what a great lunch today at ragazzi italian kitchen. chose this restaurant only to it's proximity to smithtown mall, where i was meeting out of town cousins, and what a pleasant surprise. the food andservicewere outstanding. will definitely come back.

loved ragazzi. i had my daughters bridal shower at ragazzi italian kitchen and bar, on sunday august 12th 2012 and it was wonderful. theservicewas unbelievable; rodger (the owner), brian (manager), and staff went out of their way to accommodate my family, making sure our party which included, 65 people was served with drinks and food all night. we selected from the catering menu, party package #2, which is 29.95 per person and included
antipasti - choice of:
any three appetizers from their menu
(served family style)
insalata - choice of:
mixed green salad or
traditional caesar salad
entrée
choose one chicken entree
choose one veal or fish entrée
choice of two pasta selections
all entrees served with vegetables
we had so much food, the appetizers we chose, which were delicious were rice balls, mozzarella fresca and calamari “ragazzi” followed by the salad, then the main entrée, i had was salmon livornese, which was outrageous. we had a beautiful day, at a gorgeous restaurant, with great food and service, and we ended the day by opening presents, with coffee, cake and fruit. half of my guests were italians from brooklyn, so ragazzi had a tough crowd to please, and i have to say everyone left feeling very satisfied, with no complaints. the following day, my phone was ringing off the hook from my friends and relatives telling me what a great time they had. thanks again, rodger and brian at ragazzi for making my daughter’s day as special as i wanted it to be. she was so happy and i am glad i choose ragazzi.

not a restaurant i will visit again. we went to check out this restaurant on a thursday night during restaurant week. after being ignored at the table for 40 minutes we asked if we do have a waiter assigned to our table and after a couple of minutes we were told that it was some confusion among the staff as to who shouldserviceus. not really a good start to our evening.
the food was mediocre at best. it's been advertised and promoted as real italian cuisine but beside the name of the dishes being printed in italian on the menu, there was no authentic italian dish in sight. the meatball appetizer was tasteless, the mini rice balls were blend.and the main courses came with a garnish of haricot verts and potato croquette. desert was as uninteresting as the rest of the meal.
thursday nights are being promoted as ladies night with unlimited champagne for ladies. the unknown caveat to that offer is that you have to sit at the bar not at a table. we were told that after dinner we could just move to the bar and have the champagne on the house, but as we have our dinner we could not be offered the same. what a ridiculous marketing idea! if we pay for dinner we could not have a drink on the house, but we could sit at the bar all night long and drink on the house without spending a dime.
the place was very noisy(nothing to muffle the sound), tables and chairs somewhat uncomfortable, staff and management not too helpful or customerserviceoriented.
it is a shame that such great expectations turn into such a disappointment. needless to say we will not return to this establishment.

delicious food and presentation!. i have been to ragazzi's at least 6 times and it never disappoints. theirserviceis most professional and friendly. the cold antipasto is one of my favorites.
the ravioli in cream sauce, ravioli spinaci and the pollo scarpiello, boneless pieces of chicken with italian sausage, potatoes, roasted red peppers and onions is another mouth watering entree!

disappointed. this is our 2nd visit to ragazzi. our first experience was better than the second. maybe it was our meal selection. my husband's veal milenese was bland and my pasta was very ovet cooked. the atmosphere is nice and theserviceis good. we may give ragazzi another chance but not any time soon. for good italian go to la capannina in holtsville or savianos in sayville.

charming. the decor is awesome - very nice atmosphere. theservicewas phenominal. you could tell the food was all homemade. everything was fresh and delcious. from the free bread to the app to the entree (no room left for dessert), i enjoyed it all. i hope they do well and stick around

we tried ragazzi for the first time tonight as we visited the kids at stonybrook university. we all enjoyed the atmosphere, large dishes, and delicious desserts. we had to wait 10 minutes- not complaining. theservicewas great as well. highly recommend this restaurant.

won't go here again. go to carrabas. bring back pizzeria uno... i tried this place just to see if it was better than carraba's and it is not...servicewas fair, garlic knots are good... wife had a chicken dish, i had veal with proscuiutto w/c was way too salty as well as calamari was salty... linguini with clams pretty standard fare... portions were fair at best and reasonably priced however you get way more for your money at carrabas and spectacular service... i predict that this place will fold in less than a year it was that bad.. salty salty salty!
