thesushiis delicious and the miso soup is really good. we tried the beef ribs and they were over cooked almost burnt and had way to much sauce all over them. won't get that again but would go back for sushi.

since they changed the menu and howsushiis ordered it is total chaos. cant get everyones food at your table at the same time ....
you no longer order off asushisheet - kinda takes away from the whole experience

also sat at thesushibar - no real interaction with thesushimakers anymore... husband ordered lunch combo - which is soup, salad, rice and sashimi.... i ordered one dragon roll. all of his courses came and went and my dragon roll was no where in sight... ended up telling them to forget it, paid for what we got and left!

not horrible, but unremarkable at best. thesushiis too americanized with a sauce for every roll. the salad was so full of wilted lettuce, i had to send it back. the rolls we did have fell apart because the "sushi chefs" don't know how to roll correctly. we won't be returning.

while i love the food at this restaurant, i hate it that thesushibar is always dirty. wait staff and management should realize that a customer isn't interested in sitting down to someone else's crumbs.

good food, but..... we are new to the area and were very much looking forward to our first rasushiexperience. thesushiwas great, very fresh.. the "special rolls" looked fairly generic and most contained cream cheese so they didn't appeal to us. over all we were very satisfied with our meal, but.... our service was terrible!! it took our waitress all of 5 seconds to run to the table and expect us to have a drink order ready, never asked if we had eaten there before, and then disappeared. we saw her quite a few times flirting with the table of men behind us, but never giving us more than five seconds of her time every 20 minutes or so. long story short, if you would like to have a nice leisurely meal where the server rarely checks in on you or gives you helpful hints about menu favorite... rasushiis the place for you.

go for the atmosphere, not the food. anyway who says they like ra for the sushi, haven't tried enough other places in tucson. ra has a great atmosphere and a cool setting, but thesushiis average at best. and yes, i've been several times because friends always want to hang out in the foothill. it's always the same. overpriced, average-tasting sushi.

rasushiwas pretty good. i think the prices were very reasonable and i really liked the outdoor seating. as far as the actualsushigoes though, i think wasabi is still my favorite. :)

goodsushi-- great scenery. rasushiserves up delicious and fresh sushi. i guess my problem withsushiis that i never remember goodsushimeals -- only the bad ones. so i can't really specify whatsushito get. i do recall the tuna roll (tekka) was a good portion and they had some of the tenderest octopus i've had of late.

i think the true attraction of ra is not the food but the scenery. the place is swarming with great looking women of the "hipster chick" variety. ra attracts them like flies on.........bad sushi, i guess.

great happy hour special menu monday-saturday, 3-11. they offer an assortment of the regular menu items at about 40% off. we loved the sqid salad and enjoyed salmon, tuna and yellow tail nigrisushifor $3 for two pieces. we has several different maki rolls: crispy calamari, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and california rolls. they were fresh and yummy. the happy hour menu also has items like lobster spring rolls, spicy sesame chicken wings and more. the regular menu looked interesting and we will have to try it sometime. but we ate a huge amount ofsushifor a great price and it was very tasty and fresh!

maybe it's just me. maybe i'm just comparing ra against other places i've been, but it just doesn't seem to come up to snuff. the rolls seem pretty small, and the quality of them is par, but that adds up to something i don't expect to pay very much for.

it feels more like i'm paying for the atmosphere than for the food, and i'll take a hole-in-the-wall place where the waiter can't understand english over ra, if it means getting great food at a great price.

that said, ra is chic, and conveniently placed if you're looking forsushiin the scottsdale shopping district.
