go for the atmosphere, not the food. anyway who says they like ra for the sushi, haven't tried enough other places in tucson. ra has a greatatmosphereand a cool setting, but the sushi is average at best. and yes, i've been several times because friends always want to hang out in the foothill. it's always the same. overpriced, average-tasting sushi.

food was interesting, especially their specialty rolls.atmospherewas a bit too noisy. sounds more like a bar. service was good.

maybe it's just me. maybe i'm just comparing ra against other places i've been, but it just doesn't seem to come up to snuff. the rolls seem pretty small, and the quality of them is par, but that adds up to something i don't expect to pay very much for.

it feels more like i'm paying for theatmospherethan for the food, and i'll take a hole-in-the-wall place where the waiter can't understand english over ra, if it means getting great food at a great price.

that said, ra is chic, and conveniently placed if you're looking for sushi in the scottsdale shopping district.

viva vegas rolls!!. do i love sushi? yes! and i love ra's happy hour!! for $6 you can get a viva las vegas roll that will have you full with just 2 rolls! theatmosphereis really "hip" and modern. everytime i go there it's packed and i wind up waiting around for a table.

their japanese entrees are not that great and definitley not worth the price. sushi dishes are a little unique but not worth the price for most of them.

overall review- a great place for social gatherings. happy hour is the best time for drink snad sushi specials. the vegas roll is the best yet!!!

pay for the view, but a decent happy hour. nothing to write home about, because, really, you're paying for theatmosphereand the location. it's usually very loud inside so i chose to sit on the patio if i can. i've been twice during "regular" hours and paid quite the price for drinks, ok sushi, and bland seafood dishes. during happy hour the drink, sushi, and appetizer specials make this place at least somewhat worthwhile. service has always been great; attentive, fast, and during a monsoon rain burst they helped my group move to a covered table when they couldn't find an open one inside.

show up early to happy hour and avoid the wait to be seated. i don't think their "specialty" drinks like the blushing geisha are worth the price, ever, but they are fun to try at least once. stick with the beer, sake, or well drink specials instead and have yourself some edamame.

the wasabi mashed potatoes are so good, but i'm sure you could make them at home for pennies compared to ra.
