pusser's bar and grille

first of all, i avoided this place for years since the name just sounds like pus... not very appetizing. the location is very pleasant, thestaffis welcoming, and it feels relaxed. the food was alright, nothing to freak out over. i had the special of the day--a wrap with mushrooms, onions and steak. it was very bland, meat was tough. my guest had pineapple rice in a caribbean sauce topped with salmon... absolutely delicious. gave it a 3.5 because my meal wasn't exactly "special". nice place, just nothing unique.

its like a high school sweetheart. pusser's is an annapolis staple and as such it is a great place to grab a drink and sit on the dock watching the boats come in. the food is decent, the drink do the trick...all of that being said this review is not about the location or the food. it is instead about the waitstaffand the customer service. before i go on i should tell you i had a bad experience there and thus this review. but you should also know that i have been going to pusser's for years on my annual vacation to annapolis.

this years visit was a train wreck. the service was pour to say the least, the worst i've seen it.

it was the first day of my vacation and i left my card in the folder when i paid, definitely my fault. however i was not able to get it back when i realized an hour later. the card was "lost". i will spare you the details but i talked with managers and waitstaffand no luck. i canceled my card and the next day i went back to see about the card with my server from the day before. strangley she didn't recognize me but when i asked about the card she seemed shock and went looking for my card. she returned it without asking my name or knowing what kind of card i was looking for. the kicker is that the manager on duty said that she never asked them for the card, which they keep locked in a safe if someone finds one. so i have made a long story long and i apologize, to sum up, watch your money and don't trust the staff. however, enjoy the view, its killer.

cold reception everytime. my wife and i have "attempted" to patronize this restaurant/bar twice in the last two weeks. both time, young, seemingly uninterested greeters informed us that either the downstairs bar was closed or the upstairs bar was closed. both time around 9pm. just seems the place is not that welcoming and need some adults to run the place. we frequent restaurants often and losing business is never a good thing. we move from st. augustine, and i can tell you the atmosphere a most of the bar and grills are leaps and bounds over pvb...just plain boring andstaffseemingly bored as well.

rudestaffand bored greeters. come on folks, can't you muster a little faux enthusiasm when a patron walks into the door? been there twice recently and both times; cold reception and just plain disinterested in welcoming anyone. no wonder the ratings are so poor.

do us a favor and close to make room for a restaurant that caters to their patrons.

nice dinner all around. we have been to pusser's a few times over the years and have always found it to be an enjoyable dining experience. we dined there this evening and the barbecued salmon tower was a large piece of fish that was nicely grilled along with a delightful rice cake that was sweet and crunchy with a hint of jerk seasoning. the shepherd's pie was very tasty with a thick, rich sauce and loaded with meat and vegetables. the onion rings we had for our appetizer were also flavorful and the iced tea tasted fresh brewed. the entirestaffwas friendly and the restrooms were very clean.

atmosphere and dessert was nice but that was it! took about 10 minutes for our waiter to show up. service was really poor. inexperienced waitstaffon ever level. food was ok, i had fish and chips my wife the shepards pie, nachos for an appetizer consisted of a an un layered brick of sysco brand chips being held together by a solid block of cheese! was not impressed, will not be back.

heavenly. wow!!! one word... marvelous! i am very picky when it comes to dinning out for seafood cuisine especially since i am a seafood chef from the lowcountry and i can tell you that i will not soon forget pusser's. everything from the service to the bill was excellent! thestaffwere very friendly and the food was exquisitely delicious! (yea, that good) then i got the bill and it was a sigh of relief, everything is very well priced. so, i have to say that my experience at pusser's was outstanding!!! p.s. the crab dip is a must!

good times. i really enjoy this place...thestaffand definitely the bar.
