pusser's bar and grille

first of all, i avoided thisplacefor years since the name just sounds like pus... not very appetizing. the location is very pleasant, the staff is welcoming, and it feels relaxed. the food was alright, nothing to freak out over. i had the special of the day--a wrap with mushrooms, onions and steak. it was very bland, meat was tough. my guest had pineapple rice in a caribbean sauce topped with salmon... absolutely delicious. gave it a 3.5 because my meal wasn't exactly "special". nice place, just nothing unique.

its like a high school sweetheart. pusser's is an annapolis staple and as such it is a greatplaceto grab a drink and sit on the dock watching the boats come in. the food is decent, the drink do the trick...all of that being said this review is not about the location or the food. it is instead about the wait staff and the customer service. before i go on i should tell you i had a bad experience there and thus this review. but you should also know that i have been going to pusser's for years on my annual vacation to annapolis.

this years visit was a train wreck. the service was pour to say the least, the worst i've seen it.

it was the first day of my vacation and i left my card in the folder when i paid, definitely my fault. however i was not able to get it back when i realized an hour later. the card was "lost". i will spare you the details but i talked with managers and wait staff and no luck. i canceled my card and the next day i went back to see about the card with my server from the day before. strangley she didn't recognize me but when i asked about the card she seemed shock and went looking for my card. she returned it without asking my name or knowing what kind of card i was looking for. the kicker is that the manager on duty said that she never asked them for the card, which they keep locked in a safe if someone finds one. so i have made a long story long and i apologize, to sum up, watch your money and don't trust the staff. however, enjoy the view, its killer.

cold reception everytime. my wife and i have "attempted" to patronize this restaurant/bar twice in the last two weeks. both time, young, seemingly uninterested greeters informed us that either the downstairs bar was closed or the upstairs bar was closed. both time around 9pm. just seems theplaceis not that welcoming and need some adults to run the place. we frequent restaurants often and losing business is never a good thing. we move from st. augustine, and i can tell you the atmosphere a most of the bar and grills are leaps and bounds over pvb...just plain boring and staff seemingly bored as well.

rude staff and bored greeters. come on folks, can't you muster a little faux enthusiasm when a patron walks into the door? been there twice recently and both times; cold reception and just plain disinterested in welcoming anyone. no wonder the ratings are so poor.

do us a favor and close to make room for a restaurant that caters to their patrons.

get a new chef. second time back had the crab cakes salty beyond belief. also have the tacos driend out mahi mahi. i have no idea how thisplacestays in business.if i was in with a large group i would have just left.

the best thing i can say is the outdoor dining on a pretty day is nice. the food is overpriced for the quality, small portions. i have tried thisplacemany times and leave quite dissapointed. please get the food up to par!

aplacefor crying babies. food was alright. i do not if i would make a special trip to eat here. salad was flat ie little taste and soup was overwhelmed with corn starch thickener. the mussels were big and tasty.

terrible service!. my husband and i went for dinner on 4/6/2012. we were immediately seated which was great! then we waited and waited and waited and 15 mins later we had a waiter come by and get our drink order...already red flags went up. then we waited almost 10 mins before we actually got the 2 ice waters we wanted to start off with. when delivered the waiter says ....ok i will be back in a few minutes to take your orders ...so now we are 25 minutes at the table and he hasn't even taken the appetizer orders. we waited another 10 minutes and decided to leave. the waiter watched us walk out, he didn't stop to ask us what was wrong. theplacewas not busy. not even filled. we will not go back. terrible terrible service.

i really enjoyed pussers! i sat on the balcony before prom and it was absolutely stunning! the service was nice and polite even though it was pretty busy. they had the best nachos and blackened shrimp ive ever had! perfectplaceto go for a celebration

food overrated although fun atmospher. don't get me wrong...it's a funplace(when the right people are there) and i sometimes enjoy grabbing a drink there, but the drinks are expensive and so is the food especially considering the food is mediocre.
