okay, but not authentic. pronto isgoodfor 'canadian approximation of japanese food', but if you've eaten curry or ramen in japan, you'll be disappointed. the tonkatsu curry don (in my photo) had almost no curry sauce (you can see a little bit of liquid on one side of the container), and none of the veggies that are usually in curry rice. the pork cutlet was great though!

i've also had the tonkatsu ramen. it's more of a fancier instant ramen than the ramen you'd get in a similar restaurant in japan - different noodles and different broth (both of which i suspected were a prepackaged type).

the food is good, and if you wanted to introduce someone to japanese food pronto is a fine choice, but it won't fill the need for anyone nostalgic for food they ate in japan.

i've always been a fan and loyal customer to this restaurant, i've recommended to friends and always go with friends but after today, no more. when i first heard about the change, i was disappointed that they removed student special but when i found out they added ramen, i wanted to go there immediately. so despite i had a sore throat i really wanted to try their tori ramen (deep fried chicken ramen), when i saw it i was excited cause it looked delicious! but when i took my first bite, the taste isgoodbut extremely spicy. i've looked at the menu over and over again, i did not find anywhere it said "spicy". it was not mild spicy but spicy spicy. i'm super disappointed and unfortunately, i'll just be once in a rare occasion customer.
in addition, my friend ordered the ramen combo which consists of korean beef ramen, four dynamite rolls and a pop. there were one medium sized and a small piece of "korean beef". again, disappointed. yes, it came with dynamite rolls and a drink but two pieces of beef? unacceptable.

i really hope they will fix this problem cause i really did like this restaurant.

strengths and weaknesses. a fast-food sushi place is a welcome addition to regina. the first time that i went, i had the salmon sashimi which was perfect and served nicely chilled. the second time that i went, however, i ordered the same but this time the fish was served way too cold which detracted from the experience. i also ordered a tempura udon which was served extremely hot to the point that it was not possible to eat it without waiting for it to cool down (or getting burned). the problem is that as i waited, the tempura inside the broth got soggy. so i had the sashimi too cold, and the soup too hot (with soggy tempura)... i also tried two of their jumbo rolls (and they have several smothered in japanese mayo--which, i must admit, i like a lot). i tried their pronto roll and their mango roll. both were pretty good. so on the whole, this place is neither absolutely great (like some reviews suggest) nor terrible (like other reviews suggest). the place certainly serves sushi that isgoodenough but they need to pay much closer attention to the food they serve. sashimi should be nicely chilled (not icy cold), udon should be hot but not burning the tongue and the lettuce in the california salad needs to be a lot less and fresher (or even non existent; while i do not know this for sure, i highly doubt that in japan they serve salads that are primarily lettuce). despite the limitations that i mentioned, i think that i can have an enjoyable quick meal there and i would go back.

worst sushi ever!. i never write reviews on things like this and only believe half of what i read but after my experience with this place i had to come on and say something. i heard agoodreview so i went. when i got there the place was empty and it was lunch hour which should have been a clue for me. ordered got take away, and the left. opened the food up and there were no chopsticks. the mango roll didn't have crab, the avocado in the one roll was brown going black and the smoked salmon tasted like it was 2 weeks old. took it back and they wouldn't do anything for me and wanted me to wait for them to call the manager to come down to sort it out after i had already waited 10 minutes. will not be going back.

delicious. i admit to being a little ambivalent because i've had some pretty unsatisfactory sushi here in regina. but i'm happy to say that pronto definitely has some great sushi, especially for the price. i also had their agedashi tofu, and i'll definitely get it again. they forgot my miso soup, but gave us an extra soup for their mistake when i mentioned it.
it's about a million times better than the sushi on campus, and their veggie roles at pronto are actually cheaper than the sushi on campus.goodmeal andgoodservice. thumbs up!

best sushi in regina. i moved to regina two years ago from the west coast and i have been looking for a place where i could get reasonably pricedgoodsushi. i have found it in pronto. it is the best i have had since moving here and the prices, although not cheap, were decent for the great quality japanese food. i will be going back in the near future, possibly even this evening,
