the location is friggin awesome and you can actually order thewinefrom the vineyard, they do have excellent choice of bubbles (tassie and french) and some passable beers. also a solid "not ours"winelist (for what reason?). we had arras bubbles, tier 2 chardonnay and pinot and a sensational single vineyard pinot noir.
service is crap - super friendly bogans and backpackers - but not much organisation. food service is poorly spaced, drinks are worse (i thought if i got a bottle he would leave it... no such luck).
to the main game. food was very good. of the snacks, the corn fritters were super yum, kingfish tortillas were "cheffy" - crunch and bite and sweet and sour and ... "why am i eating this crap".
the roast lamb shoulder was magnificent, i even survived the crispy kale. i have not had better meat anywhere. smoked goat curd a winner, pesto not with us. rosemary potatoes were good, but 10 mins after the lamb, which created some stress with the mrs (where are my chips, where are my chips...) lettuce salad was a total flog: 50c of lettuce for $10...go die in shame.
desserts great. she loved hers, nice glass of kracher to accompany. they found me a great hard cheese, matched with rutherglen muscat. coffee not bad.
overall a great lunch. service on the peninsula will always be hit and miss. they nailed most of the food and the seriouswineis stellar.
