beautiful. had been screaming to try this place out since it opened as i had been watching the refurb with some interest. stunning, understated interior with a big open fire and warm welcoming staff. greatfoodand impressive wine & cocktail list. didn't leave room for the donuts so will have to return very soon.

the best of everything. what a standout restaurant! a cosy and sophisticated interior, attentive and friendly service and deliciousfoodthat embraces seasonal produce from the local area. it's hard to pick favourites, but reccomendations include the churros, salmon cavier blinis and wagu bresola to start and the prawns, masterstock chicken and duck cassoulet for mains. an absolute must is a tasting at the cellar door - ask for sam the winemaker.

avoid if you havefoodallergies!
i have had so many beautiful meals at this restaurant over the years, made better because they always catered to my dairy and gluten allergies so well. unfortunately i had a recent booking that had to be cancelled as i was informed that the chef no longer caters for dietary requirements! i was also informed that “many restaurants” are now doing this!! i don’t think so. i am sorry, but i have never, ever been told by any restaurant that they can’t cater to my allergies. restaurants all over the world don’t have an issue and even small local cafes are able to cater. in addition with so many people withfoodallergies i can’t see that they will be able to stay in business with this approach. unfortunately, avoid this restaurant if you have anyfoodallergies or intolerances as they don’t want your business!!

polperro, you should be ashamed of yourselves. riding on the coattails of a previous chef to charge for what at best can be described as pedestrianfoodat best and charge outrageous prices to boot shows you have no cre for either thefoodor your customers. your own sommelier summed it best when he said yoy should always start with a great starter and and wirh a great dessert. so let's start there. your starter of potato rosti with sour cream and caviar was cold and lifeless. your pickled beetroot squares was bland at best and miso tuna had no miso flavouring at all. next up, gazpacho and crayfish, well where do you want to start. vinegar soup killed the crayfish so you might have well had basa...wouldn't have made any difference. next up, pork belly....which wel so thinly cut, it might as well been (and really it was) just overcooked bacon, so horrendous. the slaw the only redeeming feature. the only course that was ok on thr menu was the duck...but tea smoked? not sure bout that. the sides of duck fat potatoes was dead and lifeless, the potatoes so obviously sitting around for a while...how can you tell...well the potatoes were all cracked and they were floury. duck was cooked ...just ok. next up, the dish that should have summed up your talents as chefs....and it did. raspberries, vanilla custard and a chocolate triffle.....no flavour in anything but the raspberries. i had run your not more than 2 hours beforehand to make sure everything was running smoothly and to advise (again) that it was my wife's birthday. the lady i spoke to said yes, something special will be done...but nothing, not even a mention. the only saving grace was the decent wines..so perhaps you should stick to that. for the owner/chef who took over from the departure of the previous chef certainly has no chef backbone in his body to be charging these extraordinary prices for substandard for at best.

this place is amazing! the building is nestled on a sloping hill so there beautiful views of the vines and trees. there’s wine tasting and you could wander down the back for a picnic. if you’re after something more formal the dining room has everything you’d expect from a winery and the out door terrace boasts all the fine dining experience inside offers but with a more chilled vibe. if you’re looking for a more relaxed time there’s a garden just as you enter from the free onsite large car park. thefoodis more towards the expensive side but definitely worth every penny. i’m looking forward to the next time i get to go to polperre

came here some time ago for the set menu. the atmosphere and setting was very nice. however, the rose that was recommended to us was a bit too weak for our taste buds. thefoodtook quite a long time to arrive as expected but they were quite nice. overall, we enjoyed the afternoon at the restaurant!

beautiful place and atmosphere sadly thefoodwas not so great. thefoodmay have been not to our liking but 4 out of 4 were disappointed. we had the tour menu and found the popcorn tasted like something you can buy off the shelf in a supermarket, the salmon tartlet was way too fishy, the arenchini was okay (i wasn’t a fan of the spices) the pork belly sandwich was probably my favorite out of the lot but was very sour at times from what i think tasted like pickle/ vinegar.
the beef cheek for all of us was our least favorite and almost went untouched, we found it way too strong in an unpleasant beefy flavor, i’m not a huge fan of beef cheek so i probably should have ordered something else. the apple salad was nice and so was the yoghurt parfait however i had higher expectations and was expecting to be wowed. service was great and the manager did come over to chat to us about the food. sorry polperro i’m sure not everyone dislikes yourfoodbut unfortunately it wasn’t for us.

from the moment we arrived we were entranced. our welcome was warm and genuine. we were offered a wine tasting with the delightful eric, and accepted, excited to take in the entire experience. the tasting was informative, but also accessible. no judgment here of those of us who didn’t know all the wine speak. we were welcomed into the dining room with no pressure to buy the wines. in fact we were pleasantly surprised to see that there were beverages on offer from other than the winery. i chose the clover club. delicious. thefoodwas simply divine. clean, fresh and visually stunning. the apple salad was a highlight because it was inventive and a lovely surprise. we didn’t sample the desserts but diners around us polished them off with lots of oohs and aahs. the wait staff seemed to intuitively know when to appear, when to disappear and when to engage in appropriate banter. there was no stuffiness in this dining room. we loved it from start to finish. best of all we liked that it was a lot smaller than the other wineries yet it held its own and matched them hands down in the quality of service and food. we finished our meal with coffee on the verandah with a visit from the beautiful rosella birds and cheeky free range chicken. seriously, it ticked all the boxes. moderately priced at $80 - 100 per head. worth every dollar. thank you to everyone involved in hosting us.

my friend and i went here before heading to the hotspring! i totally loved the atmosphere, the vine yard was just so nice. the decorations were wonderful, enhancing my dining experience. we opted for the tour menu and we had no regrets! every course was out of this world, thefoodwas made by very innovative chefs! i am still craving for the pork belly sandwich, this was my fav so highly recommended that.
the service was good. would definitely come back again!

we have been before but this time thefoodwasn't hot, at best it was warm. they didn't warm the plates of which are large heavy ones. given its the middle of winter the heat was lost. given they charged us 350 dollars for 2 people, you should expect better. service was also average and they couldn't care less about thefoodtemperature.

went here for weekday lunch for valentine’s day. they had their tour menu as only dining option for the day which we were happy to do. interior of the restaurant makes you feel like you in someone living room rather than a restaurant which is really nice. couldn’t really fault thefoodall was tasty and was definitely full by the end of the meal. and nuisance was i specified that i was pregnant however thefoodthey bought out wasn’t pregnant friendly and waiter didn’t seem to know. service could have been better. it wasn’t terribly busy and first two course came fairly quickly but the third and fourth course took forever. i swear the couple next to us came 1.5 hrs after us and we’re having their lunch third course by the time we got our fourth.

we went to polperro for lunch yesterday and enjoyed a lovely afternoon of warm ambiance, attentive staff and impressive food. there was quite a raucous group seated behind us who would have benefited from being in a function room but other then that the only other blip was that they ran out of sourdough.

we started with the most delicious of lamb cutlets which was perfectly pink and yummy king salmon with goats cheese on lavish. i was disappointed with the excessive presence of chorizo on so many dishes given i do not eat pork. we also ordered a potato mille feuille that was recommended and when i asked what a particular ingredient listed on the menu was i was told it was the ‘creamy element’.

thankfully when another server brought it out he referred to it as chorizo cream when explaining the dish. all of thefoodwas stunningly presented and the flavours of apple impressed me most of all for its uniqueness and theatrical smoke show.

we finished the day with a cellar door wine tasting as the fee was waived given we had lunch. i also recommend starting with a drink outside so you can take in the scenery and relaxing atmosphere. an enjoyable day out
