plough hotel

service was very pleasant and agreeable. we were very well looked after, especially as theplacewasn’t busy. there were maybe 2 other tables and perhaps one or two further back not in my line of vision.

thursday diner. we were at the plough on thursday night. greatplacein terms of deco but very very noisy. we found some of the staff especially the tall "welcoming" male staff rude and patronising. he came to our table towards the end of the night and taunted us. we did not deserve it! we had to wait over 1 hour for our food. the food was average and certainly not worth the money we paid. we won't return.

excellent family friendly gastropub!. the plough hotel is a great balance of good food, friendly service in a semi-casual venue that is still very family family. not quite theplacefor an intimate dinner for two but perfect for almost any other occasion! we'll be back!

on wednesday, 23 may, went in for lunch with a friend and ordered my usual tamarind chicken. my friend - who also is a regular at theplaceand had ordered wagyu burger before chose to order the same. this was at least our fifth time. every other time we were both impressed with the food but sadly this time, neither he was nor was i. his burger was ok but my tamarind chicken was anything but. putting slices of roasted pumpkin (lots) and covering it with parsley leaves - with sparing chunk or two of bbqed chicken. absolutely no tamarind flavour or taste. was totally disappointed this time. hope they make it up for us next time, because we like theplaceand we will give them another chance.

i come here nearly week and it is always good , there are a few things that aren’t consistent every time i go so that’s why they don’t get the full 5 stars . one of the new staff member waiters he is fantastic at his job , very funny and very knowledgeable .

great new pub! just needs some fine tuning.. the buzz for redevelopment of this pub has been going for awhile, to the point where a group conversation started up on my bus home as we all looked in the window on monday night!!! we were located in the booth area and our whole group of mates were thrilled with the selection of beers and wines available. we ordered chips and chunky veggies to start with, which were perfect and i loved my steak as a main and had food envy with the pizzas and the burger. everyone was really happy with the food and wine throughout the night. the waitress was friendly and spunky, but we all thought that she was under pressure to clean up a little too regularly from the manager and she gave us the bill pretty much directly after we had finished eating which made it feel like they wanted us out quickly....

overall it is a great pub and we are thrilled that it has opened in the area. the only other major thing that needs improvement is the layout. the acoustics are not quite right so it feels noisy even with not a lot of people in theplaceand the layout of the furniture doesn’t make it feel cosy. it needs plants or artwork or something to break up the white of the walls and the noise.

we will definitely be going back regularly and encourage others too, it just need to fine tune a few things for it to be the perfect local pub!!!

good food, friendly staff. we've been to the plough hotel 3 times in the past few months and have been happy with it every time. the staff are very friendly and smiley, as well as accommodating of dietary requirements. the decor is very smart and neat, theplaceis child friendly with highchairs and baby change facilities, and it has always been absolutely packed in both the dining and bistro parts - definitely worth booking ahead of time. my only complaint about the plough is that can be very, very loud when all the tables are full.
the food is mostly pretty good. i love the zucchini pizza, was a little disappointed with my veggie burger (i found the burger part to be a bit bland) and thought the chicken parma was ok. the wine list looks fantastic, although i'm pregnant at the moment so haven't been able to give the wine list a good test yet! my partner was impressed with the good choice of beers, particularly the representation of local victorian beers on the drinks list.
despite having been a little disappointed by a couple of menu items, the zucchini pizza really won me over, and we like theplaceenough to come back and keep trying the other delicious sounding items on the menu.

consistently fantastic. i live round the corner and everytime i go to the plough the food is excellent. tonight i made a mess, accidentally spilling my wine and the staff were so helpful and friendly. thisplaceis one of the best pubs in the west for sure

love this place. we took the kids for mother's day dinner. we had the charcuterie plate and some other share plates and all were at a higher standard than you might expect at even an upmarket pub. staff are local and genuine and looked after everything despite being fully booked. add in the great beer and wine list and i wish i could clone thisplaceand replace most of the pubs in melbourne.

renovations are great, we went there on a saturday night and theplacewas packed. we've got a young baby and there were plenty of other kids there - be warned if you are looking for a 'drinking hole' it's not that kind of place.
the food was good but i must admit a bit overpriced - $26 for a parma is pretty pricey. still, we live 5 mins away and will go back although probably not for casual dining due to the prices (there are so many cheaper options nearby).

i finally tried thisplaceout last night after meaning to for about a year. we booked for 8 and got a booth, which was really comfortable. for starters we ordered a couple of the garlic pizzas, which were amazing. they are also have a good sized drink selection with many local craft beers available. for the main i ordered a medium scotch dillet that was cooked perfectly. the other people i were with ordered either steak, fish or pizza and they were all very happy with their meals.

the staff are amazing in thisplaceabsolutely amazing. we went for my sister's 50th birthday the food was great the service was great but my god thisplaceis just way way too loud. there is no carpet just wooden floors and there is nothing on the walls to absorb the sound and our table of 7 we could only speak to the person in front of us and beside us it was just too noisy. it didn't help that there a table of 8 men behind us who were quite clearly drunk yelling and swearing. i was disgusted at the fact that the table beside us let their kids climb all over the booth seats near the windows, put their dirty hands all over the windows and then the mother decided to take her 4 month old babies nappy off and change it on the seat next to us while we were having dinner and that spoiled and our night. the way the kids did whatever they want it i felt like i was eating in mcdonald's, not in a restaurant. it was a shame such a special occasion like my sister's 50th birthday was spoilt by such behaviour. once again full credit to the staff who do an amazing job

there has been a change in management during the last days. i was a little disappointed in the wine list. a lot of my favorite wines were missing. there has been a complete change in staff. a lot of my favourite people have moved on to greener pastures. hmmmm. it was very quiet for a thursday night. i have put thisplaceon the watch list and will provide sitreps. hopefully they will restore to their former glory.

greatplaceto get a really good steak! pretty decent ambiance, not pricy and amazing staff and some delicious food you can try.  the eye is always on point and also tried the pork belly scallop entree. everything was good. definitely will be coming back.

had the hanger steak with added truffle for my main along with croquettes as an entree, from textures to taste everything works together so well. the homemade sauces are very light and do not take away from the taste of the steak but instead compliment it. croquettes were cooked perfectly and did bot lack in flavour at all.

atmosphere is very home-like and cozy, warm lighting creates a very niceplaceto just be around friends and/or family.
