plan b burger bar

i tried to hit up this place everytimei was in the area. it's a gormet burger place so you pay for what you get.
i had the baja burger once and wow. their jalapenos seems like they were picked fresh from satan's garden. i've never had them with a kick like that.
everything is flavorful without being drenched in sauce. their beers on tap are varied which makes pairing beer with burgers great.
parking kinda sucks because of the area but they do have a parking garage across the street, underground.

gd food. love this place been there several times the only thing i dislike is the waittimewhat is worth the wait

good burgers and wings. we had bbq and hot wings for the appetizer - well executed, good flavor, good serving. i had a "3shrooms" burger, which was not bad, but somewhat boring at the sametime- i prefer to see more mushrooms and onions, and while the burger was good, it taste was not really distinguishable from any other burger out there. overall good food, but somewhat lacking the "umpf".
excellent selection of beers, both tap and in the bottles.

this is a great place to go to for burgers and they have lots of options as far as food goes. the food is great i have no issue but dam considering the fact they have people walking around i'd expect to get my check ontimeand for the guy to arrive on time. i waited 20 minute to pay my bill that's bad customer service when you have kids. this is a family resturant place many people come with kids but if they have slow service like this then they will loose people. nowadays crowd is always parents with kids

figured i would give it a try with gf and friend. waitress was nice, food was good (messy though), but service from waitress was horrid. i waited almost 2 hours for the check, had people to talk to sotimeflew by unknowingly. i asked for her three times, saw her, friend got up and asked for check and she said sure brt. yeah....2 hours. when i asked for the check from another waitress they said only that my waitress could cash me out, then they tried getting her again...nothing. i tried one lasttimeto get my check from another waitress at which point i kindly said, "if i don't get my check i'm going to have to just leave,i have somewhere to be now". they finally got my check, still not original waitress (she was busy flirting for a bigger tip i guess my friend told me when he went to ask her). i got our check, paid, even left 20%, who knows how tips work out there, also wanted herto feel bad. right before we stood up she finally came over to snatch up the dishes and block us in the benches as she did so, unlike waiting until we leave like she is supposed to. wish i remembered her name, but i'm sure it was obvious after having to almost bail on the check that it was horrid service)

when they're busy it's not as good. went back for a second visit today and they were very busy. there was a 20 minute wait so we went into the bar and found a booth there. our wait person "emily" was very nice. i ordered a small caesar side salad as an appetizer.for the entree i had the meatloaf again which was very good and my partner had the buffalo chicken burger spicy hot. the caesar salad never came, my partner 's fries came limp and luke warm and he said his burger was not spicy at all. he sent the fries back and i had to ask to have the salad removed form the bill. otherwise my meal was fine. the first we went it was dead and the food was great, thistimeapparently they cannot handle a crowd and need more help in the kitchen.

good burgers, fries & lots of options. tried this place for take out & will definitely go back again. the food was very fresh, tasty & not too greasy. prices are fair & the menu has so many choices i had a toughtimenarrowing it down to a few items. for starters i tried their verified natural chili with horseradish cream. very good & just the right level of spices & heat. then i shared an order of the baked penne with sausage & meatballs. everything was good. not the best sauce, but not bad for a burger place. then i had a bacon cheeseburger with fancy fries, which are really just regular french fries. the burger was cooked just right, not dry but not runny either. the fries were virtually greaseless & lightly salted. for dessert they have the plan b funni bone. for those who like peanut butter & chocolate together, you will find yourself in heaven. overall the prices are reasonable, quantity of food is very plentiful & fresh. i recommend this place. i hope they maintain the quality.

really noisy!!. the food was great, as always, but lasttimei was there the music was blaring. this meant each diner was yelling to be heard over the music. we just gave up any attempt at talking. i just read an article about how restaurants are doing this on purpose to get people to leave quickly. maybe so, but it makes for a pretty lousy dining experience.

if they can give me some pink, i might give them some love. either way, they have a unique and interesting beef treatment that'll get me back fromtimeto time.

good burgers... i'm a burger freak - so once i heard plan b was the spot to go for good burgers i had to try it out. overall, the taste was terriffic. i ordered the burger with bleu cheese, carmelized onions, and barbeque sauce, with a side of sweet potato fries. i also had a great oatmeal stout to go along with it. overall, i'd give the burger (taste wise) a 8/10. although it did taste good, i still have had better. my only complaint would be the prices for the burgers. $12-$13 for a burger and fries is a little on the steep side. i would go back though, i'd like to try it one moretimeto see it's consistency and try out a few other things (they look to have some great appetizers.)

saftey concerns. great food, good service, bad neighborhood. went to plan b on a few occasions and both times had to park on street around the corner. each and evertimewas harassed by a gang of young goons hanging out at the the house near the corner both coming and going. if you can't park in front it's not worth the risk. never saw a police car cruise by. for your own safety try one of the other plan-b's or eat somewhere else where you won't be harassed going to and from you vehicle.

not so great lunch at plan b. we had an 8 member family gathering on 6/18/11 at the west hartford restaurant. most of us were plan b fans of both west hartford and glastonbury. thistimethe burgers tasted "funny". the texture of the meat was strange and they all had an off taste. i hope that plan b is not trying to cut costs by economizing on the beef it uses.

awesome, just don't get the veggie burger. i came here and i loved the food. great appetizers and burgers. just don't get the veggie burger. it's basically made out of just beans, not vegebables (aka nothing is holding it together) and when you take a bite, beans ooze out from the bread. it was the most difficult thing to eat and didn't taste good at all. i know beans are usually put in veggie burgers but i feel like i ordered a bean burger. the french fries were awesome, comparable to a healthier version of mcdonald's fries. the desserts are great, no complaints there. i will be going again and ordering a real burger, as i should have the firsttimearound lol.
