plan b burger bar

one of the bestburgerplaces i've eaten at. fries and onion rings are excellent. service is good and wait staff knowledgeable. nice clean restaurant. i have only been to the restaurant in glastonbury because i get a consistently good meal.

greatburgerand salad!. stopped in on my way to the airport and grabbed a couple beers, had a greatburgerand salad. staff was friendly and prompt, good looking waitress (not that it matters, but it doesn't hurt either ;-)

shroomburgerwas just right, juicy without being too greasy and needed no catsup. mixed greens side salad was great too, made the meal just right, not too heavy etc.

i'll make a point to come back if i'm ever in hartford again.

good burgers and beer. the burgers here are very good. the grass fed organic meat taste so much better than anyburgeri have had not made at my house. the prices are around 10-12 dollars for aburgerwhich considering you spend about that much at a chain like chili's, red robin etc is fine. the beer selection is very good and the prices are not too bad. the fries are decent but i prefer the mesculin lettuce that they offer as a substitute (free of charge) for fries. the wings were also very good as an appetizer. overall a good place.

loved the blue cheeseburgerand cheesecake in dessert. i liked their overall concept of healthy fast food. a must try for tasty and healthy food.

i tried to hit up this place every time i was in the area. it's a gormetburgerplace so you pay for what you get.
i had the bajaburgeronce and wow. their jalapenos seems like they were picked fresh from satan's garden. i've never had them with a kick like that.
everything is flavorful without being drenched in sauce. their beers on tap are varied which makes pairing beer with burgers great.
parking kinda sucks because of the area but they do have a parking garage across the street, underground.

what a huge cheesyburgerloaded with fries.ordered a vegburgerwhich had bean patty with lettuce and tomatoes and dollops of cheese. but the best part were the fries. so crisp salty and thin.

ate here on a busy sunday afternoon and ate at the bar. the bartender was super helpful in helping me find something that i couldn't get elsewhere. ended up ordering something no longer on the menu but they were able to hook me up. :)

got three sliders of different types. a cubanburgerwith ground pork, some kind of italianburger(cheese, grilled peppers) with ground chicken, and a regular burger. excellent burgers although the fries were truly standard fare. homemade fries or some house seasoning would ground out the experience and make this a 5.0.

all in all i loved the burgers and highly recommend the place.

greatburgerand great beers. simple but unbelievably flavorfulburger(3 mushrooms). great beer selection and variety. i had the maine mean old tom & new england coup beans. i definitely recommend to anyone traveling in the area looking for aburgerand beer.

when am i going to learn how bad this is. every once in a while i get a while i get a craving for a hamburger and i assumed that this place must have improved so i had down to fulfill my craving. unfortunately it's the same bad food and bad service as always.
1) i didn't get my drink
2) i got the wrongburger
3) and it wasn't cooked all the way through

crappy burgers. i will never understand the fan club for these burgers.....i've tried them several times because of friends that insist i'm wrong. maxburgeris still a lot tastier. plan b does have a nice selection of bourban...awful hamburgers!!!

good burgers and wings. we had bbq and hot wings for the appetizer - well executed, good flavor, good serving. i had a "3shrooms" burger, which was not bad, but somewhat boring at the same time - i prefer to see more mushrooms and onions, and while theburgerwas good, it taste was not really distinguishable from any otherburgerout there. overall good food, but somewhat lacking the "umpf".
excellent selection of beers, both tap and in the bottles.

visitor. the beef wellington starter was excellent as was the strip steak. theburgerwas also good but the amount of salt used was overwhelming - every bite was a chore even tho theburgerwas basically good. maybe some fresh garlic instead of salt hey!
a good wine list.

ive been there 6 times this past year, it's been bad 5 out of 6.. i can't figure out why people keep saying how great this place is...having a "different gastro-pub" style menu does not equate to being great. i have been there with friends, on a date, and with a work meeting: terrible service in the bar area, terrible attitude by the bar staff, brought up an issue to the managers attention about my food sitting on the side getting cold for a full 5 minutes before being served and was promptly dismissed with a "we'll take care of it", barely an apology and honestly seemed like i was bothering her with the issue. ridiculous. my friends and i have now been back a handful of times, we keep trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but i give up.
max'sburgerin west hartford center is 10 times better for the price and atmosphere, the counter'sburgermuch better quality, i'd even go so far as saying mcladden's menu is better than this place. you want to be treated with respect and have a quality meal at a bar try the half door, you'll thank me...don't believe the hype, this place and it's burgers are average at best, i work for a big company in the area and tell everyone i know the same thing, and most have agreed with me...

awesome concept...but inconsistent. have yet to order something i didn't enjoy at this restaurant, and i've been here at least a dozen times. the kitchen struggles with the pink/no-pink concept. more often than not, regardless of what you ordered, yourburgerwill be well done. the service is touch-and-go; there's some servers there who are very good and can get you in and out in under an hour. there are others that go missing for chunks of time, including when you need the check. the bar service is typically great though.

bestburgerby far .... the only place to go for a great burger, lively pub scene as well.
