plan b burger bar

one of the best burger places i've eaten at. fries and onion rings are excellent. service isgoodand wait staff knowledgeable. nice clean restaurant. i have only been to the restaurant in glastonbury because i get a consistentlygoodmeal.

great burger and salad!. stopped in on my way to the airport and grabbed a couple beers, had a great burger and salad. staff was friendly and prompt,goodlooking waitress (not that it matters, but it doesn't hurt either ;-)

shroom burger was just right, juicy without being too greasy and needed no catsup. mixed greens side salad was great too, made the meal just right, not too heavy etc.

i'll make a point to come back if i'm ever in hartford again.

good burgers and beer. the burgers here are very good. the grass fed organic meat taste so much better than any burger i have had not made at my house. the prices are around 10-12 dollars for a burger which considering you spend about that much at a chain like chili's, red robin etc is fine. the beer selection is verygoodand the prices are not too bad. the fries are decent but i prefer the mesculin lettuce that they offer as a substitute (free of charge) for fries. the wings were also verygoodas an appetizer. overall agoodplace.

yummy burgers. got the baja burger. love spicy food, this was definitely spicy. got it with some delicious parmesan fries. two other people in our party got disco fries, they liked those too. cobb salad was great. lobster roll was very small (probably why it's on the appetizer menu). all in all verygoodfood

good burgers and wings. we had bbq and hot wings for the appetizer - well executed,goodflavor,goodserving. i had a "3shrooms" burger, which was not bad, but somewhat boring at the same time - i prefer to see more mushrooms and onions, and while the burger was good, it taste was not really distinguishable from any other burger out there. overallgoodfood, but somewhat lacking the "umpf".
excellent selection of beers, both tap and in the bottles.

visitor. the beef wellington starter was excellent as was the strip steak. the burger was alsogoodbut the amount of salt used was overwhelming - every bite was a chore even tho the burger was basically good. maybe some fresh garlic instead of salt hey!

awesome concept...but inconsistent. have yet to order something i didn't enjoy at this restaurant, and i've been here at least a dozen times. the kitchen struggles with the pink/no-pink concept. more often than not, regardless of what you ordered, your burger will be well done. the service is touch-and-go; there's some servers there who are verygoodand can get you in and out in under an hour. there are others that go missing for chunks of time, including when you need the check. the bar service is typically great though.

figured i would give it a try with gf and friend. waitress was nice, food wasgood(messy though), but service from waitress was horrid. i waited almost 2 hours for the check, had people to talk to so time flew by unknowingly. i asked for her three times, saw her, friend got up and asked for check and she said sure brt. yeah....2 hours. when i asked for the check from another waitress they said only that my waitress could cash me out, then they tried getting her again...nothing. i tried one last time to get my check from another waitress at which point i kindly said, "if i don't get my check i'm going to have to just leave,i have somewhere to be now". they finally got my check, still not original waitress (she was busy flirting for a bigger tip i guess my friend told me when he went to ask her). i got our check, paid, even left 20%, who knows how tips work out there, also wanted herto feel bad. right before we stood up she finally came over to snatch up the dishes and block us in the benches as she did so, unlike waiting until we leave like she is supposed to. wish i remembered her name, but i'm sure it was obvious after having to almost bail on the check that it was horrid service)

when they're busy it's not as good. went back for a second visit today and they were very busy. there was a 20 minute wait so we went into the bar and found a booth there. our wait person "emily" was very nice. i ordered a small caesar side salad as an appetizer.for the entree i had the meatloaf again which was verygoodand my partner had the buffalo chicken burger spicy hot. the caesar salad never came, my partner 's fries came limp and luke warm and he said his burger was not spicy at all. he sent the fries back and i had to ask to have the salad removed form the bill. otherwise my meal was fine. the first we went it was dead and the food was great, this time apparently they cannot handle a crowd and need more help in the kitchen.

good burgers, fries & lots of options. tried this place for take out & will definitely go back again. the food was very fresh, tasty & not too greasy. prices are fair & the menu has so many choices i had a tough time narrowing it down to a few items. for starters i tried their verified natural chili with horseradish cream. verygood& just the right level of spices & heat. then i shared an order of the baked penne with sausage & meatballs. everything was good. not the best sauce, but not bad for a burger place. then i had a bacon cheeseburger with fancy fries, which are really just regular french fries. the burger was cooked just right, not dry but not runny either. the fries were virtually greaseless & lightly salted. for dessert they have the plan b funni bone. for those who like peanut butter & chocolate together, you will find yourself in heaven. overall the prices are reasonable, quantity of food is very plentiful & fresh. i recommend this place. i hope they maintain the quality.

i had the beef wellington for staters and it was really good. for mains i had the new england burger, i have to say the burger wasgoodand i know that serving a big burger is impressive but when it's too big to take agoodbite without dislocating your jaw i think it's a bit of over kill! don't get me wrong it tasted great but became messy to eat almost immediately. also the side of tater tots was very oily and were served in a paper cone that held the oil instead of absorbing it, to the point ghat there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the cone covering the last tater tot! maybe just an early teething problem but something that needs to addressed. staff were friendly and prompt. despit the small issues the food wasgoodand i'll begonia back!

nice burger joint. looking for agoodburger and some interesting beers, this is the place. service is friendly, nice decor. it may seem a bit pricey, but considering what you pay at mcdonalds or chiles it is worth well the few extra dollars

good burgers... i'm a burger freak - so once i heard plan b was the spot to go forgoodburgers i had to try it out. overall, the taste was terriffic. i ordered the burger with bleu cheese, carmelized onions, and barbeque sauce, with a side of sweet potato fries. i also had a great oatmeal stout to go along with it. overall, i'd give the burger (taste wise) a 8/10. although it did taste good, i still have had better. my only complaint would be the prices for the burgers. $12-$13 for a burger and fries is a little on the steep side. i would go back though, i'd like to try it one more time to see it's consistency and try out a few other things (they look to have some great appetizers.)

saftey concerns. great food,goodservice, bad neighborhood. went to plan b on a few occasions and both times had to park on street around the corner. each and ever time was harassed by a gang of young goons hanging out at the the house near the corner both coming and going. if you can't park in front it's not worth the risk. never saw a police car cruise by. for your own safety try one of the other plan-b's or eat somewhere else where you won't be harassed going to and from you vehicle.
