my first time. the first time i ever tried pho was here and i have to say i was impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the combination of flavors. this is a great dish for a cold winter day. atmosphere is non-existent (so what?), but thefoodis comforting and filling.

so all the love in richmond seems to go to mekong and da lat, but neither can compare to #1...the critics all have it wrong...just go there and let the atmosphere prove this itself. this place is very hard to find and doesn't advertise, yet it stays packed...often times with lines out the door. the crowd is usually 90% asian who know how to judge authenticity. now thefood- by far the best phô & bun in richmond bar none. check it out for yourself and i'm sure you'll agree.

it's pho sooo good. when you are really hungry,pho so 1 will completely satisfy all your senses.my personal favourite is the chicken noodle soup and fried rice.one has to find their favouritefoodon the menu and order the same thing every time they go..thats coz its so good,you dont need anything else.the location is charming and its as authentic as it can get.service is fast and the rates are very reasonable!

hands down..the best pho in ric!. this is my favorite pho joint in richmond! open from 9am to 9pm (closed on tuesdays). i like to meet my family here for early lunch & grocery shop at the many asian markets surrounding the neighborhood. it certainly is a little hole in the wall but i frequent this establishment for thefoodnot the ambiance.

they have 17 varieties of pho and 6 varieties of other rice/egg noodle soups in your choice of small or large portions. their bbq with broken rice dishes come with a small bowl of clear soup with green onions. they also serve bun(vermicelli) dishes and have various fried rice selections.

the owner is nice and always recognizes us. he is extremely efficient and can turn over tables like nobody's business. sometimes i have to wait to get a table during lunch but the service is so fast that i typically get seated in no time.

tip: be ready to order when the owner comes to your table. just provide him with the number from the menu. (i.e. - "we'll have the number one-small, number five-large and a number forty nine.")
