i don't consider myself a foodie, but since this is austin (and 6th street) i had to try something a little eclectic, and i was more than satisfied--in fact i loved it. at parkside you can get an ornately decorated plate without having to ask your waitress what half of the words on the menu mean, something you can't find in a lot of places. the angus steak with corn risotto was excellent and really what you expect to get when you order angus steak with corn risotto, but of course you have the option of eating it with a well-fitting lime pesto if you want to feel like a real gastronome. the doughnuts with berry sorbet was to die for, it will definitely go down as one of my favorite desserts. if you want an honest austin dining experience, go to parkside.

good spot. sometimes a little hiccup, but mostly fires on all cylinders. good service, good space, good food.

eat elsewhere.. two words: pretentious bullies. not to mention their food is way overpriced. dan mcclusky's was far superior and they didn't force their street food neighbors into moving down the street.

cool place! great drinks, food was just ok. my salmon was fishy and the portions were small. it seems like the type of place where you have to know what to order.

mmmm grand platter. loved it, loved our server. we got the grand platter which was awesome because i love oysters and the selection they gave us from the raw bar only got better.

next was the salmon which was also great but in all honesty, after the grand platter my tastebuds were so happy nothing could compare.

also, the squash just tastes like bacon...eh.

but, still loved it. would definitely recommend going there.

favorite happy hour / dinner spot down town. i have never had a bad experience here. other than running out or not having gulf coast oysters before i could get my hands on some, they are generally well stocked, and i've never had bad service. their 3 shot glasses of fresh fish included with the large oyster platter are excellent. oysters are phenominal. the burger is a very unique take on a typically mundane classic, although the fries might be a touch salty. their garlic shrimp appetizer is excellent. i will continue to return here after several years of dining experience, because it remains one of the coolest spots down town for happy hour and dining.

read the reviews on yelp as i wondered 6th st. and tried parkside. great place. not cheesy or fake, just honest food and drinks. baby back ribs are different, but very good. the primo dish is the doughnut holes for desert. absolutely mind-bending! definitely worth trying.

by far the best food per price in the downtown core. the tablecloth gave a very home like feel to a somewhat upscale menu. the server was spot on, timing in amazing sync with the process of eating at a restaraunt and 'upselled' with a prose which made the notion she was doing business almost invisible. all in all, top notch.

ate there last night on the recommendation of a friend. everything was excellent and the server knowledgable and attentive. i had braised pork cheeks and my wife had seared salmon. we also had a dozen shiny seas oysters. it was easily one of the best meals we've had in austin.

a shamefully long time ago now, we were invited to a food blogger happy hour at parkside. it's shameful in one respect because i had every intention of reviewing it and it's now more than two months later. it's downright unforgivable in another respect -
