parkers' lighthouse

seafood!. parker lighthouse is a long time favorite of mine. located by the water in the city of long beach this restaurant offers the freshest seafood and friendliestserviceanyone could ask for. my dinner was taken by a waitress who had much experience in what she does.she was very knowledgeable of everything on the menu and offered a few items that i may be interested in. i started with a cup of clam chowder soup which was hot and creamy and very delicious. next, i had the calamari which was tender and very light in texture ,not chewy like some places and they offer a delicious dipping sauce with it. after that i had the fish & chips.the fish was a fresh cod,very flaky and moist with a crispy batter and a tasty tartar sauce for dipping. after eating my late night snack i realized that i can go for another round that's how good and light my snack was.i really like parker's lighthouse because they offer fresh seafood and ingredients and theserviceis always impeccable.

horrible service!!!!. the only positive aspect of this restaurant was the incredible view. the food seemed overpriced due to the small portion size and the bland flavors. myserviceexperience was highly unacceptable and also contributes to such a low rating.
it was my father-in-law's 60th birthday and we had called in a reservation with instructions that we were bringing some birthday cake that needed to be kept in a freezer, they agreed and said it could be done. upon arrival the ice cream cakes were given to the manager at the reception desk with specific instructions. when time came to bring out the cakes the manager brought out the melted cakes without explanation or apology. i had even observed some waiters laughing as they walked by commenting on how the management had screwed up. this had many of the family members extremely upset die to the lack of communication from the management. on top of it all, no concessions of any kind were offered for their mistake. our experience had made such a negative impression that i felt this review was necessary for other potential customers.

this oversight of the management with the lack of explanation or apology was unacceptable on every level and as a result make the assessment that theservicewas highly lacking with incompetent service. this incident with the bland food and high price makes this restaurant only good for the view. there are plenty of great views in long beach with better food, prices, and definitely service.

parker's lighthouse needs to work onserviceto the customers. waitress brought food to the table and placed it in front of wrong people. after about 10 minutes of wait she returned and told us to just switch plates. we told her that was not acceptable. she immediately asked if we waited to see the manager. she never attempted to fix the problem. the manager did "fix" the problem but the damage had been done. food was not that great!!
