rude server didn't end up dining...my husband was taking a client out & we had planned to dine at parc. when we pulled up, two outsideparcservers were standing at entrance & my husband asked a question about valet, the male waiter responded so rude & condescending (as i also watched him make a face at my husband as well) while my husband went to move the car i proceeded to see what other establishments were in the area since i had no intention of patronizing a place who was rude regardless of food reputation, proceeded to choose devon. asked an outside waiter there a question & he couldn't of been more pleasant, hostesses were lovely and our waiter dave was outstanding!!!! we had a fabulous meal & delightful experience. will definitely return - guess things happen for a reason.

this is for a series of posts for stephen starr restaurants including:alma de cuba, barclay prime, butcher and singer, continental midtown & martini bar, the dandelion, el rey, el vez, jones, parc, pizzeria stella, route 6 [1], route 6 [2], & square burger. the first time i triedparcwas after a nye tasting at twenty manning grill. the gf and i came for a few cocktails before heading to a nye party with some friends. the atmosphere at this french brasserie was comfortable and cozy, decked out in a celebratory mode.

this was my first time dining atparc& though i had high expectations, i was not disappointed! it was a bit crowded but we were able to sit almost outside looking out onto rittenhouse so it didn't feel so tight. the wine was good, the ambiance a cross between parisian romance & cool old world, & the food was phenomenal (& i don't use that word lightly!)! i had the skate grenobloise with brown butter & artichokes which was one of the most delicious meals i've ever eaten & my husband & i shared the profiteroles with a bittersweet chocolate sauce for dessert- definitely left planning my next visit!

having walked past theparcmultiple times, i always wanted to go there for a meal. their outdoor seating has a very european feel and is right across from the rittenhouse sq park. being a large group, we sat inside and it was one of the best meals i’ve had in philly. i ordered the fume which was a great bourbon cocktail with vermouth to have but wasn’t the best choice to pair with the beef bourguignon that i got for the main course. the beef was super tender and was served with some veggies and pommes puree. i recommend making a reservation as this place tends to get crowded.

i had 2 gorgeous dining experiences inparcwhen i was living in philadelphia. first was a valentine's day brunch with some girlfriends and it was definitely worth the long wait. i had the special strawberry v-day bellini and poached eggs with bacon and other trimmings, the best part is the basket of french bread and butter and the side of french fries! the second time i went we tried an assortment of dishes including the fish cakes which were superb and the tortellini pasta, i also had the club sandwich which was massive. the titos cocktails were superb but too easy to drink i ended up leaving brunch a little worse for wear! this place is a must! such a good atmosphere and friendly staff too!

french feel. i’ve visitedparca few times now, and i love it. it really does have a french bistro atmosphere, to the point that the first time i walked in i nearly switched to french to communicate. (for the record i’ll not claim to be a french restaurant expert, but i’ve visited a few times and i’m basing my comparison on my experiences). the meals don’t disappoint and neither do the drinks. though i’ll add that the desserts could use an upgrade. still, if visiting downtown philly i recommend a trip to parc.

go for the food stay for the scenery..parcis situated on rittenhouse square and a perfectly appointed french brasserie. its menu is a mix of complex and simple. honestly spoken, i could take or leave french people but their art, culture, and food are an object of obsession.parcexhibits an outstanding aesthetic while delivering food an atmosphere that rivals anything from la belle. i'm a huge fan of their locally sourced charcuterie as well as their absolutely perfect braised beef short rib. the frites are a thing of beauty and perfectly matched with a medium cooked bacon cheese burger if you're looking to eat big. i cannot say enough wonderful things about this establishment.

once in a while i become nostalgic for my life in paris. i miss every single detail that  put together make paris so magical. i miss the beauty that covers every inch of the streets, the cobblestone streets, the sound of the french ambulance, the beautiful well groomed people, the language and the food. when nostalgia hits the only way to satisfy it is to find a french bistro where you can pretend that for an hour, just for one hour, you are back in paris. in philadelphia this can be found at rittenhouse square at theparcbrasserie. every single detail from the yellow fiber braided bistro chair on the outside to the layout of the restaurant on the inside and most importantly the menu seems to fit the profile of being a french brasserie. from the outside, the restaurant looks quite small but stepping to the inside you'll be surprised to see just how large it really is. we managed to find a seat outside overlooking the park where people watching is at its premium. after ordering two gla

paris meets philadelphia. i hate those quaint little bistros around the u.s. that are so faux paris you feel like you are at epcot. every city has one or two. butparcon rittenhouse square really does feel like a bistro in paris. i had to stop several times and remind myself that i was in philly!
it's large and has some architectural feel to it. the menu is authentic.
i had the osso busco and it was very good. our entire table was very happy with our entrees.
we had a wonderful server who was in good spirits and knew the menu and offered real suggestions to our table.
the outdoor tables (we did eat inside) are great for lunch or brunch as they are right on rittenhouse square and on a nice day look awesome for some great people watching.

great date night. i have eaten atparcon three different occassions. this restaurant is consistent, delicious, and a little pricey but not unaffordable.the dishes i would like to highlight are the 1/2 roast chicken, which is perfectly cooked everytime, and the appetizers: steak tartare and chicken liver mousse. the appetizers are a little small, but the dishes are so rich that the size almost seems appropriate. this is definitely one of our favorite spots and worth the money.

french comfort. in philly for the weekend to see a show and triedparcbased on other reviews and proximity to theater. very european ambiance but without any pretension. service was great and they were conscious of our curtain time and quick with the check. we had the mushroom tart, escargot, veal, and beef bourguignon. all very satisfying, all with lots of butter so be prepared to go away feeling full the rest of the evening. wine list not extensive, but enough for everyone and some interesting cocktails too. very pleased with parc.

location and ambience.parcis in a superb location with open walls to the sidewalk and views of rittenhouse square. soaring high ceilings, period decor and classic dishes makes this a diners location of choice. price point is typical for this quality of food and a good value for your dollar. service was excellent and menu variety makes it that every member of your party can find something to fit their tastes.
highly recommend this as a foodie destination.

wanting more. we ordered 4 separate desserts only. each one was delicious but what stands out is the vanilla ice cream that comes with the profiteroles. the serving size is small (ugh) but this is the best vanilla ice cream i've had since the summer of 1975 at an obscure restaurant in oud beijerland, holland - and believe my i've had plenty of "gourmet:" ice cream in the past 35 years. we didn't order a full meal, but the dishes floating by in the hands of the chic wait staff looked delicious and generously portioned. with original turn-of-the-century decor and the jewel of rittenhouse out the window you can't lose here.parcmeets the european standard in many ways. i look forward to returning.
