duck po-boy. what a fantastic place! the staff is exceptional, friendly, and knowledgeable! the french bread is the best i've ever tasted...crispy (and perhaps glazed with butter) on the outside, soft and tender on the inside...perfect!!!! the duck was tender and juicy and fabulous! can't wait to try their roast beef and oyster po-boys

given the other reviews, i wish i could have had someone else's experience here. waited at the order counter for several minutes to place an order. one order went out of the kitchen while i waited, but there were people standing around doing nothing but looking at me in the kitchen. after i finally placed my order (bbq beef po boy, roast beef po boy, cheese fries, and onion rings, with two dr. peppers to drink) i got the drinks. they were cans of dr. pepper, one of which was crusted in nastiness on the top and the other had massive dents in it. whatever, i thought, i'll give them the benefit of the doubt and wait for the food. so after about a half hour, the food finally came out. one would think that the fries and onion rings would have come out when they were ready but apparently that was not the case. so of course the fries were cold and hard, and the cheese on them was also cold and crusty. gross. onion rings were passable but their sauce had this really funky lemon taste to it that was so unfortunate that i started just using ketchup to save my taste buds the embarrassment of it. the po boys were pretty decent. some of my meat was still cold, but after the rest of the meal, it was still a bright spot. i can't in good consciousness recommend this place for the food. maybe the bar is better.

a parasol’s roast beef po boy. it was absolutely gorgeous to eat. yes, the adjective doesn’t match up.

however, my favorite was actually the fried shrimp. it was the best po' boy i had in new orleans. the shrimp were perfectly cooked: tender but not rubbery with a huge amount of flavor. unlike many fried shrimp dishes from the northeast, the breading here was light and added a nice crunch. the french bread was also excellent, with a flaky outside and soft inside.

parasol’s executes this classic new orleans sandwich beautifully. first, let’s discuss what happens in the kitchen. the female (rock on!) head cooks start by stuffing a top round with whole cloves of garlic and then searing it in order to caramelize the garlic and brown the meat. salivating yet?

yum!. i have been nothing but impressed with the staff, service, and quality of food.

i was a holdout on the new parasol owners and out of fairness tried them. been back several times and order something new each visit and have been nothing but satisfied. they beat the pants off tracey's.

it's no parkway..... let's start with the positive, the onion rings and side sauce were great. then the poboys came. i ordered a shrimp popboy, the bread was hard, and there were maybe 3 or 4 shrimp on the sandwich. very disappointed. i will go back to parkway.

after seeing parasol's on food net tv and having some out of towners visiting us, it was the perfect day to head to parasol's for some po boys. we tried the shrimp, hot sausage patty and roast beef with an order of onion rings for the table. the po boys were all good and enjoyed, but in the quest for the all time new orleans po boy, we still have to give our nod to parkway tavern especially for the sheer quantity of shrimp on their po boy if nothing else. so if you have the time and energy head to parkway, if not, sit down and enjoy parasol's. it's win win.

the new owner took over in 2010, and this was our first visit back since 2007. the exterior is now welcoming, clean and attractive (and so is the ladies room). if anything the food is even better, especially the roast beef po boy. probably the best roast beef po boy in new orleans. we also tried the pulled pork po boys based on recommendations here on urban spoon, thanks for the tip it was great. wanted to get the bbq shrimp but it was on available today. ordered the tomato soup on special, that was fabulous, made from scratch. didn't feel like ordering the irish sunday but we work it in a sample and it was fantastic... next time. and there will be a next time.

gem!. we had dinner here last night and it was everything i wanted it to be. it is a nice little local bar. the bar is listed as a steelers bar, but it unfortunately was just a regular bar, but they at least had the game on.

the roast beef po boy was really good! nice crust bread and warm delicious beef made me very happy, but you need to try the home made onion rings. they were ridiculously good! pumped to find this little place!

dont judge a book by the cover.... saw this place on tripe d - food network had to check it out. definitely a dive but the food rocked! roastbeef po-boy was awesome, irish pub sundae was like nothing i ever had - potato salad drenched in gravy and roast beef debris. owner was super friendly and they gave huge portions and offered us a little lagniappe to make us all happy. great prices - will definitely be back!

one of the best poboys in nola. it's much better now with the new owners. poboys taste better and the service is friendly. imagine that. that place down the street traceys that opened a year ago doesn't come close. why would anyone eat there instead? parasol's is a nola institution and always will be.

open! can't wait to try it again. and i will give my reviews. this is a true new orleans institution.

i went with the roast beef po-boy and it was a fabulous decision. from the crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside bread to the shredded roast beef covered soaked in gravy.
