great bbq & good music &greatowners in fact i'm going to shower & drive 110 miles & eat some brisket! it's hard to stop eating it!

good bbq andgreatowners. i had heard about this place for quite a while before i finally got the chance to try it. the owner was working the register when we came in - very friendly guy and quick to answer questions or offer suggestions. anywhere but tx, pork butt is my bbq meat of choice so that's what i ordered here. it was very good with a nice, smokey flavor. there wasn't a whole lot of bark and the meat was a little overdone for my tastes but i would place it solidly in the category of "good bbq".

the sides were even better than the bbq. the greens were really meaty and smokey and the mac n cheese was some of the richest and creamiest i've had. almost all bbq places i visit on a regular basis have good and bad days. maybe today was just one of those days where the pork got a little overdone. and, really, it's just a nit-pick . .the pork was really delicious. i will definitely be back again to try some more.

bbq gem. coming from boston, we didn't know what to expect from bbq here, but this place was outstanding.greatfood and the hospitality was amazing. the owner was beyond friendly and even shared photos of the red sox world series ring! highly recommend this hidden gem.

great bbq. 02/26/14 i took two canadian customers for dinner. they were amazed! i am from sc, an avid bbq lover and cook. you could not have asked for better food and hospitality.greatribs,greatbarbecue andgreatpeople. papa visited with us for a bit, and my customers are still talking about him, his employees and the wonderful good. this restaurant is a prime example of the art of southern barbecue. we havegreatbarbecue in sc, of course, but i wish nashville and papa turney's were a little bit closer! kudos to all!

you are a part of the family the minute you walk in the door !!!!. we were blown away at the level of hospitality offered by the owner and the staff of this place !!!

the owners daughter took our order and his wife was there as well. the whole place was family and the owner went way out of his way to meet us and thank us for coming in !

again, the food wasgreatand the staff was perfect , but the view of the water is beautiful and makes for agreatmeal for dinner if you choose to eat on the deck at their location on the lake !

best bar b que. my husband donnie and i attended the opening of the first papa turney's restaurant in hermitage, tn. it was agreatexperience. the owners handed out goody bags of seasoning and other goodies. it was a fantastic time. the place was packed with people in line out the door! the only thing that topped that experience was the food. the best bar b que. the meat was seasoned just right. it was juicy fall off the bone...i mean melt in your mouth good! i don't know which part of my body had the best time..my tongue from tasting it or my tummy from swallowing it. i was mad when i got full!!! the music was also good. agreattime. my son jason and i visited their nashville marina location that recently opened. again, enjoyable experience. sitting out on the deck enjoyinggreatbar b que, looking out on the lake listening to their live band...man it was agreattime, peaceful evening. eating the best food, listening to good music and watching the sun set on the lake, it dosen't get any better than that! you want some good bar b que.... w/greatcustomer service...forget the rest, papa turney's is the absolute best!!!

so delicious ! a must visit if in the hermitage area. we went here for lunch before going to the hermitage (andrew jackson's home). the staff is very friendly, generous portions,greatmenu! the grilled cabbage was great- i've never had it before. i highly recommend this place !

local treasure forgreatbarbeque. tried papa turney's for the first time today. the chopped pork was "melt in your mouth" tender. i've eaten a lot of barbeque in my life, and this is the real deal. can't wait to try the pork ribs and beef brisket. what also sets this place off is the folks who run it. truly friendly and really seemed glad i was there. a family business and it shows.

awesome!. we are from memphis where memphis in may bbq fest brings in the best of the best. papa turney's beats them all! the ribs fall off of the bone and the bbq and sides aregreattoo! i am pretty sure the sides are all homemade. taste like it anyway. and there was more food than i could eat at one time. all i can say is awesome! this is not fine dining but is bbq supposed to be?greatcustomer service too!
