family owned, i've been going here since 2007/2008.
one of my "last meal" spots. they've yet to disappoint me.

reasonable prices, heaping amount of food.

it is never a let down.

very good pizza for the price. they use those cheap canned mushrooms, though, so pass on the shrooms.

meh. i read all the glowing reviews and had to give it a try. i suppose i like the neighborhood flavor and the characters that work there. but there is really nothing special about the pizza. it was fine, nothing wrong with it. it's just ordinary. one thing i found odd was that if you order vegetables on the pizza, they don't bake it with them, they put the vegetables on once the pizza is done. frankly, i don't think the pizza is much better than little caesar's, certainly not worth what they charge. the garlic knots weren't much to write home about either.

authentic ny pizzeria. papa angelo's, my favorite pizzeria in oklahoma.

while i'm always on the quest for great food, pizza always has a very special place in my heart. papa angelo's uses a very simple method for their business, cut the crap and just make great pizza!

these guys are from long island, so we share a similar views on pizza, and conversation. if you tell papa you like his pizza don't be surprised if he snaps back saying "whaddo i care!?" (although he's really a sweet old man). this is the type of place where you don't just order a pie, but you get to know the family as well.

the pizza ranks about 7-7.5 out of 10. for me this is a fairly high rating, similar to what i would give most ny pizzeria's i grew up with (this is a good thing). one of the great things about papa's is you can always expect to get the same great pizza every time you come in. i've never had a pizza at papa angelo's that didn't taste as good as the last time i visted.

this level of consistency, plus their great neighborhood location (right next to our church) allows me to have great ny pizza anytime i want. in oklahoma you can't ask for much better than that!!

ordered a pizza for pickup, service was very good but the pizza was below average at best. disappointed in the dough, texture was more like a tough bread instead of ny style. seemed like it had been made earlier and sat out for a while. maybe an off night and based on most reviews will give it one more chance, this time we’ll try ordering in.

hands down the best pizza in the oklahoma city area.  whether you go during lunch and order "by the slice" or in the evening and order a whole pizza, we've never been disappointed.  it's not a 5-star restaurant, but it's really good pizza.

pizza was okay. our group was pretty sure we were invisible because we never saw our waitress. took forever to get food. it was cold night and they had door propped open which i thought odd. i would not recommend.

had the lunch special. two slices of pizza and a drink for $5.25?! yes, please!

ordered pepperoni for one and sausage for the other. these are fairly large slices of pizza (at least for me) so i was fairly full at 1 1/2 slices. i will say that if you're looking for a pizza with a lot of sauce, this isn't it. but i like it that way. i was able to taste the cheese and pepperoni too. cheese was nice and stringy! sausage on the pizza was flavorful. i liked the crust too, it wasn't really thick but it also wasn't paper thin. i'm normally not a crust eater but i ate the crust because it had flavor. i will warn you that the pepperoni makes the pizza greasy so if you're a napkin dabber (why), you'll most likely dab this pizza. as for me, i want all the grease! haha.

anyways, great deal. delicious pizza. will be back again.

love this place. great pizza, covered in toppings. pasta is great and garlic knots! sometimes the wait is long, we always call ahead or get it to go. one our list of favorite pizza places, it's in the top 5.

was not very impressed. my bro thought it looked like a "tony's" frozen pizza with all the olives on it . we ordered the empire supreme there was way too much topping in it. made the crust soggy. where was the sauce?? i sure didn't taste any. maybe i'll try just a 1 topping next time just to give them another chance. have to give the a 2 star rating until next time

i used to eat at papa angelos, when it was in a different location, back in the late 1990's and i remember it being pretty good.  i've been planning to go back and try it again and finally made it over there today.

my first impression of the pizza was disappointment.  the toppings were on top and it didn't appear that there was even any cheese on it at all.  when i took the first bite i decided the crust was pretty good but as i got further into the slice, disappointment set it.

we ordered a supreme and the amount of meat and cheese on the pizza was absolutely pathetic.  it was literally like eating a pizza crust with onions, mushrooms, black olives and green peppers scattered around the center of it.  there were a few pepperoni slices around the outside edges and some hint that there might be some sauce there.

if you like a lot of sauce on your pizza, don't bother ordering extra because they will just ignore it and basically put no sauce on there.  that, accompanied by the lack of cheese and meat made this a bland, boring and disappointing pizza.  to make it worse, the price was comparable to hideaway!   the $8 dollar large supremes i get from all american pizza were far superior to the pizza at papa angelos.

we also ordered garlic knots, which i remembered being very good.  they were crispy on the outside and soft and doughy in the middle.  yuck!

finally, my wife got iced tea from the self-serve beverage center and she kept finding little bugs in her cup.  something like fruit flies or something.

all in all, we were very disappointed.  the pizza wasn't horrible, despite all of my complaints about it, but it was way, way, way overpriced and completely lacking in toppings.  if this is an example of "new york style" pizza, they can keep it.
