pane e vino pizzeria

very disappointed. the service was very long but this could be acceptable (well, we had our drinks at least 25 min after ordering them. and not the ones we ordered because they were out). what is not acceptable is thefoodthey served us. we ordered a veggie pizza without cheese and any kind of meat. we made sure to ask them to add more veggies. the pizza was "naked". it looked like a giant cracker with nothing on it. i told the waitress that some veggies were completely missing but she did not care at all, she never came back to apologize. i will not go back!

we had a great two nights of dinners at pane e vino! thefoodwas great - sat outside the first night, in the next. if you like salads and pasta and pizza and wine...and have kids to bring along and feed the ducks after dinner, try it out! the service was not perfect, but we were not in a rush, so it mattered not. i think they were busier than expected...

service was very slow and the atmosphere was somewhat chaotic. it was not a pleasant experience at all. thefoodwas average at best. it was crowded but it was clear the staff could not handle even a small crowd.

had probably the worst restaurant experience i've ever had here. i was looking forward to eating here because i'd heard so many good things. the service was horrible. waited a really long time for our food, and then when it finally came out, they had forgotten to bring my husband's food. my husband finally had to leave after an hour to go back to work without eating anything. we asked for a highchair but they didn't have one available.. our server said that as soon as another table left they would bring the highchair to us. instead they gave it to someone else that came in. thefoodwas not great. i could go on and on.. every single thing about the whole experience was awful.

we got there about 5:30 to beat the friday night rush but the service was still very slow, however thefoodwas delicious!

pane e vino. beautiful resturant location looking over big spring park in huntsville. staff is poorly trained and unprofessional and can be slow when busy.foodquality is average and quality has dropped as pizzas where incredible when they first opened. appears that james boyce the owner is not focused on the management of this resturant as staff does not have a clue on how to greet and accommodate quests. we had to ask for place settings and hostess was unaccomodating when we requested outdoors seating when tables were available and went unused during our dinner. they did not adequate staff to serve customers on a weekend night.

best patio view in the area!. goodfood+ good service + a nice patio = a great evening!

great food, clueless service. seriously, we come back often for the awesomefood- especially the pizza - and have resigned ourselves to the flustered wait staff and disorganized bussing. highly recommend, but don't go if you're in a hurry.

came there to eat on dec 1st to grab a pizza before going skating, our server was kyle and he was very polite. however ourfoodtook over 45 minutes to get out and it took 20 minutes just to get our drinks. when we asked wny everything was taking so long, kyle our server explained to us that the kitchen didn't care and he was going to be manger soon and fire everyone there. it put us off a little bit from our dinning experience, although i will say the pizza was very good, i recomend the jackson pollock. i might go back but it sounds like they just don't have it together.

for the love of god, get a hostess. the anger has been building over the past year with the service at this place. pane e vino has greatfoodand atmosphere, but the service is terrible. getting seated here is a nightmare. yes, it's cozy and intimate; one of the things that make it great, but getting seated is the hard part. there is no hostess, no order in getting seated, so you are basically battling it out with the other patrons who are also vying for seats. last night, we stood at the counter starring an employee in the face for at least 7 minutes and she refused to look up from her diligent cash register work to acknowledge us. finally, the manager asked if we had been helped, i told him no and asked him when we might get seated and he said that it is a, "free for all." no truer words. it is total chaos and makes for a frustrating dining experience.

yummyfoodneed new help!. as a rule i don't comment on a forum like this until i've been at least twice. i've been to pane twice and at the risk of sounding like repeat of the other comments thefoodis great but wow the employees just don't care. coming from a family who owned a restaurant for 35+ years and relied on the younger crowd and smaller per ticket than chef boyce's other 3 restaurants, i know good help can be hard to find, but these guys are running your customers off.

the first time i was in was for lunch and my husband and i each ordered a pizza because i have an issue with gluten (or it has an issue with me). simple enough, but it took us 15 minutes to place the order and another 30 minutes to get it. the restaurant was not busy, only one other table of 2 in there and they already had their food. the servers and kitchen staff were all hanging out in the open kitchen joking around and being generally unproductive. when thefooddid arrive it was good, the gluten free crust was much better than the other 2 available in town and it was crisp! yay!! my husband said his pizza was good as well, he prefers a thicker crust, but said it had a good flavor and the toppings were generous and tasty. the unique combination of toppings is one of the allures of the restaurant, i loved my mona lisa! when i complimented the server on the gluten free crust i was told that they would also do a calzone with the crust, i may have squeeed.

the temptation of the gluten free calzone brought me back a for a second visit 2 weeks later, this time with a pasta loving friend of mine. this time on our arrival we were seated and our drink order was taken immediately but we then relocated to the counter in front of the open kitchen for the entertainment factor and the warmth, the air conditioning works well in there on a hot day! (not a bad thing) i ordered my much anticipated calzone and my friend ordered her baked ravioli and we proceeded to chat and watch the goings on of the kitchen (aka the entertainment). i recognized several of the front of house staff from my previous visit and now watched them joke and flirt with the kitchen staff and hang out in the office while one lone member of the kitchen staff prepared lunch for my friend and i, a party of 8, a party of 4 and a party of 2. he finally said something to one of his co-workers who joined him his endeavor to get people fed. when ourfoodarrived it was as expected, very good. my calzone had a nice crisp shell with a yummy gooey creamy cheesy middle and was twice what i could possibly eat. my friend thoroughly enjoyed her ravioli although i suspect that they were not house made? not sure on this one as i couldn't taste due to that damn gluten thing but i should note that the menu advises they have gluten free pasta. once we had finished our meal it took us another 10 minutes to politely catch the attention of someone....anyone...to get our check and a drink refill. i could have done it faster but she wouldn't let me holler across the pass thru ;)

if you have time for a leisurely lunch i would highly recommend pane but if you're in a hurry, maybe not, at least until they fix the service problem.

great food/ terrible service. when we walked in, we asked if we could just sit down and a waitress told us to go ahead and have a seat. after 15 minutes, we flagged down a waitress who then went to get another waitress. the girl who finally came to our table proceeded to lecture us on how we can't just sit down without telling someone, we have to flag down a waiter to take care of us. ridiculous.foodtook forever to get there, and while we were waiting, 2 older ladies sat down at the table next to us. after they waited forever for service (because none of the wait staff pays attention to anyone), they too got a lecture about sitting down without letting the entire restaurant know. again, ridiculous. this place has good food, but horrible, horrible service. sad to see such a cute little place have such a crappy waitstaff.
