a bit of a letdown. iconic/historic abq diner, with great decor/fantastic service, and purported the best green chile cheeseburger in the metro. well i will say this....it was a gooddinerburger. the gcc is one of a few burgers that i do not put ketchup on, because i want certain burgers to stand on their own merits. i did not get a lot of green chile flavor, and that may be design. they've created a burger your young daughter--or your grandma--can eat. so my non-local opinion is this may be the most popular gcc in the abq, not necessarily the best...

heard this place had the best green chili cheeseburger in town, so decided to check it out. atmosphere and building are really cool. i love the owl on the roof. staff was very friendly. the burger was good, not great, but their green chili was awesome. my girlfriend had the huevos and they looked awesome, and were quite a generous portion. she was very satisfied. overall, i'd say it's a very soliddinerwith good prices, atmosphere, and staff. still looking for a gccb that rivals sparky's in hatch, though.

eat here. just eat here. the food is fresh, made from scratch, and tastes likedinerfood is supposed to, but never does anymore. even the mashed potatoes are delicious and have chunks of actual potato in them. the cooked vegetables are tasty, crunchy, definitely not limp and definitely not raw. the cream gravy is made with real cream. they have a soda fountain and know how to use it properly. i can't say enough that's good about this place. just eat here.

classic old schooldinerfrom the staff to the food to the decor. how many owls can you find? for breakfast i had a burrito which was huge for $9.00. retried beans in a breakfast burrito were odd but worked and just average green chile (red chile was really good) but otherwise great!

this is a great example of south westdinercuisine. the service here was excellent, and the food was outstanding. all the attention that's been paid to the green chili cheeseburger is well worth it, and you have to try the o-loaf, which is something similar to onion rings shaped into a loaf and it's kind of hot and peppery and delicious.

this aint no health food!. the owl cafe is a 1950's typediner(not a cafe) that has been transplanted to our present time. the menu is loaded with juicy burgers, delicious fries and homemade milk shakes (made with real ice cream!). no...this isn't health food. nor does it pretend to be. but it is good.
