original george's burgers & subs

large portions...great value!. i have frequented george's for years now. the food is continually hot and fresh. theportionsare large enough that even my hubby is full after a meal. it is great value if you have many mouths to feed. the service is always fast and efficient. i do wish the dine in area was bigger but then it would probably still be full any way.

my husband and i have been coming to original george's for years now. food is always great &portionsare huge. our favorites are the gyro and baked lasagna. service is always fast and friendly but we've noticed that servers seem stressed out.. the boss woman seems rude and strict to the waitresses sometimes. also the waitresses do not get to keep their tips... so i believe the managers are keeping all the profit there. as a teenager i waited at perkins so i know how much tips help. that's not very fair, george's.

overrated. out of all the great burger places in winnipeg, george's is the worst on the list. their chilli has zero flavour, their fries are very good, but fries do not carry their menu. the fat boy is the staple, and it's just not what it used to be. now it's a flavourless bland hunk of meat with flavourless chili and some condiments. theportionsare still large, the price is typical for this type of burger joint, but the quality just isn't there.

hugeportionsand delicious food! my go to item is the chicken pita and it is fantastic. this is one of the best i've had in the city.  the platters are big enough to split between two people.

we go here all the time. fast service, good food, largeportionsand reasonably priced. not easy to pick a healthy option with their delicious burgers and fries though! breakfasts are a steal at the price as well. would definitely recommend.

food andportionshave gone downhill. ate there once a month or so for the last couple of years. nice reno of the decor, chairs and tables, but the
fatboy platter special has really gone downhill. we always shared a platter ,which was more than enough
burger and fries for each of us. not anymore! the price has gone up and the portion has gone down.
the bun on the burger falls into pieces with every bite until there is no bun and just a small patty with
no chili on it. fries are so skinny, dry and hard. we also order a starter greek salad and it is always
different ingredients, sometimes green pepper, sometimes not, sometimes tomatoe, sometimes not, so little
feta you can't find it, and a two lousy kalamata olives. the food is inconsistent. got to get some experienced food employees, not just high school kids who don't really care.

best greek burgers in the city!. largeportionsand delicious food at a great price! nothing fancy... definitely a diamond in the rough! a must try....

good. first time i went was with my friends, the food was so good,portionswere good and service was good. only thing was there cups weren't as clean, left over food residue was on ours.

a good greasy spoon. if your looking for a burger and fries this place will fit the bill though it is not the best out there. booths and chair dining, seats about 40. at regular dining times expect a line up. parking is good. a big downer is the smell of the grease. i have not smelt a greasyer place. love the fries and chillie. milkshakes came in an old milk bottle at one point but they changed that. did have an issue with a burger not cooked enough. instead of acknowledging that fact, the waitress stated it was red spices though she did not charge me for it. expect largeportionsbut also abit higher prices. expect also added on fees to use their debet machine.. if you count your pennies, bring cash. 3.5 out of 5 stars

excellent burgers, excellent portions. i always come to george's when i feel like having a good burger or if i feel like a gyro.

service can be pretty hit or miss, it depends on how busy the restaurant is - which is usually very busy. the lobby area isn't big enough to accomodate many of the people waiting for a table or those waiting in line to pay for their meal. i usually call to place my order in advance and order for take-out, despite this i'll still sometimes wait 10-15 minutes due to the lineup.

when eating inside, the waitresses are usually pretty good about keeping your glass topped up and checking to see if anything is needed. it seems a lot of the time there aren't enough waitresses to handle the amount of customers in the restaurant - even considering how fast they move. as mentioned before the lobby is very small and crammed with people so i can imagine this would cause slowdown for waitresses trying to get by. i don't feel the waitressing staff is to blame - i always see them working hard.

in terms of food, in over 50 visits i've had mediocre food maybe twice, every other visit has been phenominal. prices are great for the food andportionsyou get. i'll usually get a double fatboy and fries w/gravy or a gyro dinner and end up paying about $12. (for takeout) i almost always end up with leftovers for another meal, theportionsare that big! a double fatboy and an order of fries is usually enough to feed two people. of all the places i've eaten, george's definitely has my favourite burgers in winnipeg and i highly recommend them.

best restaurant of it's type in the city!. love george's, the food is great, theportionshuge and the prices and service good as well! for me this is the best burger and fries in the city and i always have a good experience when i go to george's. i haven't tried much else but i did try chicken fingers a friend had one time and the were great too! if you're looking for a big juicy burger with lots of toppings and huge plate of fries then you won't regret hitting up george's! this review is only for the george's on st mary's though near bishop, never been to the other ones.

great service. great food.. they have ginormous buns for their burgers and some days it seems like your burger is more bun than meat, but it's still a damn good burger. their chili is excellent, whether it's on your burger, your fries or your spaghetti. they always give you giantportionsof food, even the onion rings. i always come here expecting to bring home a doggy bag of leftovers for the next day at home.

they tend to get busy at lunch and supper time (both with sit in and take out) so service can be slow, but it's still pretty fast. food is always hot, and the price is definitely right. the servers are great, and if your table is still a little messy they always apologize and quickly clean it up.

still the best. great place to get a fat boy burger, and theportionsare huge. so huge that if you order their biggest burger and manage to finish it, you'll be crawling to the car.

awesome!!. not only do you get the best burger and fries in town, hugeportionsand great value. the staff is extremely friendly and prettier than any earls girl any day of the week!!
