was a little leery about service after reading the reviews but it was truly awesome. had the calamari and wow was it great. had the half greek and half cesar salad - both supreme with exceptional taste and correct quantity of dressing chicken souvlaki was mouth watering. now - my husband thought the calamari was salty and too thick but still good. his gyro he said wasgoodbut he has had better in the city. price was good

so i have tried many of the greek restaurants in winnipeg, but somehow had never been to olympia. we were in the area and decided to pop in for dinner. i opted to go with my usual choice of a chicken souvlaki pita with greek salad and poutine. my boyfriend opted for the traditional gyro. the food was delicious. one of the best souvlaki pitas that i have tried! the tzatziki was sogoodand the chicken was extremely tender. love that the greek salad had tons of feta and tomatoes and the homemade fries were very good! and they use cheese curds in their poutine instead of shredded cheese which is actually hard to find. i will definitely be recommending olympia diner and can't wait to return!

i am very disappointed..
decided to try this place after reading somegoodreviews. the gyro was bland, the cheese on the greek salad taste funny, and the burger was thrown together on a stale bun. the serve was ok at best, we waited a while for simple water.. not to mention our drinks. the food also took forever even though it wasn't that busy. the food is soooo over priced, save your money and go to better and cheaper greek restaurants/ burger joints in the area. i have a feeling thegoodreviews were bias, because there is no way this is a 5 star place.

went here saturday after having manygoodmeals here! i decided to bring the parents this time to enjoy some tasty greek food!
dad ordered the olympia burger with french onion soup to start with 1/2 greek and 1/2 caesar for his two sides. mom went with the chicken souvlaki pita with fries and salad. potato bacon soup of the day which is a tasty one! ☝️
my husband went with the veal cutlet and fries with salad as his choice with the potato bacon soup. and for moi, i decided to go way outside my regular.. i went with pizza... i've never tried theirs and my curiosity had got the best of me.. so i went with the hawaiian one with pineapple ham cheddar mozzarella pizza. had to grab a bowl of the lemon rice soup (mm yum!). forgot this place serves up garlic bread with the soup and they had fresh bread that day too with olive oil balsamic... didn't need pizza 🍕🙂
although the pizza was prettygoodthat night and the next day too, i'll stick with the greek specialties for future visits. calamari to start which was tasty!

service has always been great whenever we go here. friendly staff and big big food portions, goodquality for the money you spend.

feb 2017:
came here with my friend a few days ago for lunch. whenever i visit a greek restaurant i tend to lean towards chicken souvlaki pita just to see how their version is.
wow is all i can say. i was very happy with my order.
i took a page out of the heavy hitters book and decided to double up on salad - went with 1/2 caesar and 1/2 greek. the caesar was delicious and the greek salad could've used a tad more dressing, but it's probably best that it didn't (less is better for the waistline) :). kalamata olives is what i like to see on a greek salad as well.
to start, i added lemon rice soup and again wow, one of the better if not the best i've tried so far from any of the greek restaurants i've visited in the city. it was nice and lemony. a thicker broth and verygoodoverall. yum.
our server was very nice and attentive. the souvlaki pita was tasty. chicken nice and tender with flavour.

i had ordered take out a few years back and i wasn't overly impressed at that time, but glad we gave this another chance because it was pretty fantastic 👍
i will most definitely be coming back here again and again ... ! check this place out!
ooh and big portions! great value for the money spent.

we found the restaurant park very limited before we even got in the door, the window we were sat beside was in dire need of restoration as with the whole restaurant. we were served promptly however the food took 1 hr 13 minutes for 2 people and the place barely over half full. we ordered the ultimate burger and a ceaser salad between both of us. the burger was a favourless ball of grease and the salad was soggy and subpar for a restaurant. and to make it worse the food was expensive. never going again. some people may enjoy this level of service and givegoodreviews but i think it's terrible, save your money and go somewhere else

great food! i've been here a couple of times and it's pretty consistent. got the lamb souvlaki, which was great.goodseasoning, flavourful and cooked right, but i do feel like it's missing a little something... can't put my finger on it, but i know it can be better. the tzatziki sauce here is pretty good, flavour and adds to whatever you're dipping in it. the village salad was good, the dressing and seasoning was enjoyable, but my only complaint is the size of some of the veggies in there. tomatoes were about the size of a sushi roll piece, and feta was just big chunks... too big. i like an equally consistent balance for my dishes, so having to cut the tomatoes and feta pieces smaller felt kinda silly as you usually shouldn't have to do that for a salad. i ended up wasting a lot of feta and olives unfortunately. i'm not a big fan of olives, so to put in the effort of eating around the seed was just not going to happen, haha. feta is very rich and flavourful, so smaller chunks spread out would work great for that salad. less would be wasted for sure. wasn't sure if the big chunks was just their style of doing the dish, or if they do it that way because they might be taking shortcuts? i will say the poutine here is good! the fries themselves taste home cut and made, so i enjoyed that. portions were perfect for me, by the end of my meal i was a comfortable full. overall agoodexperience, service is great and friendly! worth a try!

first time here, recommended by a friend.   all i have to say is holy crap.

it's looks a little sketchy at first but it's pretty cozy once you get settled.

i had the french onion soup and a chicken pita with a village salad (greek salad with no lettuce) and rice.

my party ordered the pita and cheese platter and calamari to share and they were great and there was a ton of it.  there were huge pieces of feta and tomato with the pita's.

the soup wasgoodbut nothing to write home about.  the cheese on top was pretty bland.

the wrap had amazing tzatziki sauce and was super delicious and the portions were massive.

the village salad  (a slight up charge) which had huge pieces of tomato and feta and onion in it but no lettuce was really great.

i was so stuffed but my party wanted desert so i ordered the baklava.  it was so huge i shared with everyone and still couldn't finish it.

the prices were extremely cheap for the huge portions would defiantly go back!

not asgoodas it once was. this place used to be amazing. we'd gone many times and always enjoyed it. our last experience there was a disaster for me. first of all, the entrees used to come with a salad and garlic toast - now they don't. you have to buy that seperately. fair enough, i used to leave the restaurant stuffed, but still, i liked the variety.

the worst part of the evening was ordering the lamb. i ordered it rare. when it came out, it was well done. i sent it back (i hate doing that, but i wasn't going to pay that much for something that i wasn't enjoying). i then waited for another lamb plate. and waited. and waited. how long does it take to cook lamb rare?

finally, i asked for it to come in a to go box and the rest of my party had finished eating already. it came about 5 minutes later and -surprise - it was well done again. they did take the lamb off the bill and didn't give me any attitude about it, but if you can't cook lamb properly, take it off your menu. i was very disapointed and not sure if i will try it again or find a new favourite restaurant.

fantastic, every time!. been here several times in the past 6 months and the food is always fantastic. the calamari is amazing and tender. big portions and the servers are very pleasant, very attentive and always so smiley. the lamb is divine! it is not cheap, but it is worth every penny!

great food and great customer service. we went to the olympia for dinner, we hand a craving forgoodgreek food, and were seated right away even though we didn't have a reservation. we ordered our dinner and an appetizer and waited for our food to be served. the appetizer, saganaki, was fantastic it was the perfect size for a couple to share. when our mains were served one was fine but the other was not up to spec. we pointed this out to the waitress and she apologized and took then took it back to the kitchen. unfortunately the re-fire of the one main took too long and we ended up getting it to go. however, the restaurant took verygoodcare of us and made it up to us.

based on this experience alone i would recommend the olympia to anyone looking forgoodfood andgoodservice. congratulations olympia you and your staff have done yourself proud.

deliicous food but less  offerings, price increases. real food, tasty, worth the wait. look @ the over 91 % ,one of the highest ratings of all eateries.
this is not fast food! most everything is delicious and house made!
the main complaint lately from so many people i know is the huge price increases and in many cases no more garlic toast, and soup or salad with most meals as before, now eliminated from the meal. ... so take out is also becoming costly here. still, pleasant service and great food, worth the wait and drive.
the food still tasted great but the trek is less so worth it unless you reside in proximity!

awesome lucious lasagna ,savory soups, fabulous fries! great garlic toast! + + +. olympia is a gem. a hidden treasure among the hundreds of predictable line cooking chains around town and north america in general!.
a very comprehensive menu.
steaks are very popular and the fish and many greek dishes all good.
the lasagna is absolutely amazing! among the very best in town!
it has a slight kick to it and a very healthy sized portion. real cheese.
the garlic toast is awesome and one of the best.
even the chicken fingers are great.
the french fries are delectable.
i prefer the soups of the day, true homemade & delicious
lamb, veal and greek specialties abound in a very cozy atmosphere.
great service, friendly andgoodvalue for the almighty dollar!
the dessert are usually quitegoodas well. the service always friendly.
this place has an on hands owner and u can see that in the high customer satisfaction rating here and how busy it usually is lunch and evenings, earlier on.

it used to begooduntil they changed the menu. salad and garlic toast used to be included in most meals, they chose to nix that and up their prices. we used to love the big plates for a decent price. on top of that, the service went down the hill as well. after an hour of waiting for our food (with an infant) we were forced to leave because we, as well as our daughter, were tired if waiting.
