we went to the old spaghetti factory for dinner today. it's a reasonably priced restaurant with consistent food. in the past i've seen it on a long wait to get a table but tonight we got right in and the service was pretty fast, maybe because it was sunday.
the value of the meals comes with what is included with them. you get sourdoughbreadwith garlic and regular whipped butter, a choice of soup or salad and coffee or tea and ice cream to finish off your dinner included with most dishes.
we got the calamari to try it and it was a rip off! it was alright but for 10 dollars and a small portion of underseasoned calamari and thick, tasteless tzatiki we could have gone without it.
the minestrone soup was perfect. i got the spaghetti with browned butter and mizithra cheese and my boyfriend got the spaghetti and clam sauce. we enjoyed the pastas but were so full of bread, soup and calamari that we took most of it to go. the meal was finished with the included spumoni ice cream, best spumoni i have ever had!
pros: consistent food, lots of food, well priced, good minestrone and spumoni, great location (the forks)
cons: can be a long wait, old, outdated decor (i guess that's why it's called the old spaghetti factory), atmosphere is kind of grungy and weird, calamari was a rip off
