sushi rolls were very good. my wife and son both ordered snapper, which they enjoyed. i ordered the prime rib. i figured being under the same roof with the steakhouse it would be good. i was very wrong. first, prime rib should be sliced and put on a plate. someone’s doneness preference should dictate what part of the roast it comes from. i ordered medium rare. should be a center cut. i’m not sure what i was served was even prime rib. i wish i had taken a picture to show. but prime rib should be pink/red with crusty goodness on the edges from where the entire rib roast was roasted whole. what i got was a brown, medium well, maybe 10 oz “steak”. if it was sliced from a whole prime rib roast, it was cooked again. and only being like a 1/2” thick, how could it end up medium rare? it resembled prime rib in no way, shape or form. it had been a long day and i was sure i wouldn’t like whatever they brought out to replace it, so i just ate it and moved on. i should’ve said something, but i just wasn’t in the mood. also ordered a bowl of gumbo as an appetizer. it was basically a tomato broth with some okra, tomatoes and bell pepper over rice. there was absolutely no rue for this gumbo. and other than a little shredded crab meat, i saw noseafoodin the “seafood gumbo”. i was severely disappointed in a place we had high hopes for. especially after spending $180~. we were visiting the area in anticipation of moving there. once we get down there, i am not sure i’d go back. i’ll give the steakhouse a try.
