nusr-et steakhouse

point by point review of our unfortunate dinner experience at nusret from entering to leaving:

1- reservations were not acknowledged and we had to wait like all the walk-ins. theplacewas obviously and carelessly overbooked by at least ten tables, on purpose maybe even to increase the hype. host did not bother giving us a waiting time and responded with “don’t know can be 5 min can be 2 hours”. this is a recurrent issue based on reviews
2- as soon as we headed towards our table i couldn’t help but smell a bad, moist, stench. did not help with the appetite.placehas no circulation and is in deep need of renovation
3- waiter came to say hi 30 minutes after sitting. he bullied us into ordering overpriced wine/champagne and a “set” of salad and meats. all of which we said no thank you because we had wanted other things, to which he made obvious he was annoyed about. advice: don’t be pushed into ordering what they want
4- tomahawk steak made it to us rare even though we ordered it medium. waiter was no where to be found for 15 min so we ended up eating it as it is. actually had to leave half of it because we’re not used to rare. waiter forgot to cut it initially as well because it was so busy
5- the so called nusr-et special finally made its way one hour after ordering.
6- three hours after entering this dump we paid the overpriced bill and left.

if you want steak, go to a steakhouse. this is not a steakhouse. it’s a zoo and nusr-et should be ashamed of himself for maintaining this circus

i am not sure how to rank my nusret expirence in istanbul....
even with the booking we had to wait more than an hour for the table to be ready , finally found aplaceat the bar and enjoyed a drink before dinner.
our waitress was exceptional, and the food was excellent.
it was a different experience from dubai, i am glad i waited lol

if you are a meat lover, this is theplaceto be. it is more a passion. the best steakhouse i've tasted so far. tried the one in istanbul before going to the one in dubai, but surely i will become a regular dubai branch customer.

the tenderness, the taste, the presentation, the portion, the preparation, the atmosphere, the service... everything about thisplaceis just perfect.

you need to start with a salad and keep along the way as a side dish to break off the huge quantities of meat you are gonna eat.

when it comes to the meat starters, you can never go wrong. follow your preference but do not skip their sushi (must try). basically it is small pieces of steak filled with cheese and crispy chips, just throw into your mouth and let it melt. lokum is another amazing meat starter that you need to get. sasli is very tasty but if you need to chose, then lokum is a winner.

as for the main dishes to share; again reinforce that it is based on the steak cut you prefer. if you are into ribs, then you will get the best most tender 8 hours slow-cooked ribs here. if you fancy lamb chops, again you came to the right place; they present and cut in front of you.

note: leave space to their special baklava with ice-cream desert. mouth watering finish of your meal. you will definitely need a cup of tea before you manage to move off your chair.

it is an experience that you should not miss and trust me worth the wait in the queue to get a table or sharing table.

look no further - this is the best steakhouse in turkey. meal is of quality and theplacelooks nice - waiters will be constantly showcasing food(something in nitrogen foam) and offering you to try it/order it. a bit pricey but totally worth it while in turkey.

i kept hearing about nusr-et prior to travelling to istanbul so i figured if all of lebanon seemed to know about it - i needed to try it.

first thing that struck me with nusr-et was just how well designed theplaceis when compared to the theme they're going with so that earns points in and off itself. they were helpful in that they picked our luggage and stored it for us while we had our lunch before leaving turkey. their customer service was top-notch.


we shared a nusr-et burger and a lokum burger - both were really good - i personally leaned towards the nusr-et. i loved the seasoning they used witb the fries as well. if you're in istanbul it's well worth giving thisplacea visit for a parting meal before you head to the airport.

i can't remember the exact name for this dessert i was served, but it was a form of baklava with ice cream stuffed inside it. luckily i was only served one piece because there was no way i'd have been able to control my appetite.

first time that i have ever seen a restaurant doing a waiting list for people that have booked a table. worst organisation ever.

be ready to wait in a crowdedplacewhere waiters are pushing clients waiting to be seated (for litterally hours) to make their way. it's a total chaos.

the food ? not even worth being mentioned.

guys, we’ve not been to nusret in dubai yet and don't think we ever will - simply because of how expensive it is. but nusret in istanbul is so affordable and the quality is spot on! an absolute must visit when in istanbul. hands down the best burger we've ever eaten in our lives!!! ever!!! we didn’t know burgers could taste this good - it was the moment we both looked at each other, our eyes locked and we knew this was special. .....the best dish we had at nusret in istanbul and for only 35 tl. definition of foodgasm.
the beef tenderloin - little slices of heaven. we also ordered the rack of lamb and jack finished all of this - yes, all!! with a little help from me (fine, i had one lamb chop!). and only 260 tl. the lamb was so tender and light that even after eating all that, jack wasn't too stuffed for dessert! and that burger ?❤️
the dessert was deliciously warm, crisp, buttery and flaky and the combination of the vanilla ice cream is brilliant!! we polished off a slice each!
and we had the perfect end to the evening because we met saltbae himself!!! such a humble man who took the time to take selfies with literally everyone in the restaurant.
i cannot recommend thisplaceenough! 

we had a reservation for 5 people and were on time. but still we had to wait for approx 30 minutes to get a table. theplacewas very busy. mostly upper-middle class to celebrities. we sat next to basketball players from the local team. the world famous "salt-bae" nusret gökçe was also present so that customers could get a selfie with him. we ordered cheese salad (tulum peynirli salata) and garden salad (bahçe salatası), lokum meat, hamburgers and new york steak. taste was okay. you can exspect more from the price you pay. but desert baklava with ice cream (havuç dilimi) was out of this world and simply amazing. we paid 600 tl for 5 people.

the atmosphere was nice and authentic.
went there midweek around noon.
theplacewas almost full yet the service was really fast and the staff was friendly.
the lamb chops were the best i ever had. just perfect.
recommended!

after hearing a lot about thisplaceand finally deciding to visit, we had the worst experience ever and left without even having dinner. we called and reserved a place, but when we arrived we found a big line all waiting to be seated. no one was answering us even though we had a reservation and they made us wait at the door, until we decided to leave. it was the most unprofessional and disrespectfulplacei've ever been to! they have no respect whatsoever for their customers, which was very humiliating.

the steak houseplaceto visit when in istambul. despite the queue, you will enjoy the ambiance with a nice wine until being seated. ordered a rib eye and a filet. equally tasty. not to miss the baklava desset with its ice cream as a finish!

a must visit for any meat/steak lover.

we arrived with no prior reservation, waited for about 20 enjoyable minutes ( the amount of lovely trays of food passing infront of us was considered as an entertainment with all these aromas blending in ? ) then we were seated on a big shared table. the rest is history. ❤❤

time passed so fast, just like all the lovely times with a twist of good food in this novel. ❤

met nusr-et and took some pictures with him.
great ambiance, unreal meat that melts like butter in your mouth. ordered the nusret special, hardal soslu dallas steak, nusret special burger, lokum burger and finished it off with their special baklava. i recommend all especially the nusret special burger and nusr-et special.

(english translation is below) mekana girip yerimize oturana kadar ilgi alaka şahaneydi ama siparişi verdikten sonra kimse ilgilenmedi, yaklaşık 4 farklı garsona siparişi hatırlatmak zorunda kaldık. i̇çecek olarak ne alırsınız sorusuna almayacağımı belirttiğimde "nasıl yani hiçbir şey mi içmeyeceksiniz" diye soran bir garson bizim masamızdan sorumluydu. fotoğrafta görmüş olduğunuz havuç dilimi baklavayı ben sipariş ettim ancak karşımda oturan uzak doğulu arkadaş saniyede 2 fotoğraf çeken bir makineyle her şeyi fotoğrafladığı için sunumu ona yaptılar, ardından baklavayı önüme atıp gittiler. yan masada bir beyefendinin şarabı bittiğinde doldurmak için bir garson herdaim hazır beklerken, ben hesap lütfen diye her gördüğüm garsona seslendim ama sizin masayla x kişisi ilgileniyor denilerek yaklaşık 20 dakika hesap bekledim. +400 lira adisyon bırakıp bahşiş vermeyecekseniz nusret'e gidip de ne kendinizi rezil edin ne de yanınızdakine rezil olun. nusret nereden geldiğini çabuk unutmuş olmalı ki bu kadar şımarık çalışanı bünyesine toplayıp onlara ekmek kapısı olmuş. lezzete değinecek olursak, iki adet lokum burger ve iki adet havuç dilim baklava aldık. lokum burgerlerden birisi güzelken öbüründe sadece karemelize soğan tadı baskındı, bu fiyata bu burger asla yakışmadı. tek memnun kaldığım şey havuç dilimi baklavaydı.

they were very friendly until we found aplaceand sit down. after we ordered lokum burger and baklava, they started to behave in a rude way. we waited our order to be served for 30 min and they made us to wait another 20 min for cheque. in addition, i was the one who ordered baklava but they served it in front of an asian customer because he was taking photographs... if you don't spend +100$ and give tip to waiters, you cannot expect good quality and friendly behavior. at this place, you get only what you pay for, money talks.

a must visitplacein istanbul. this is the main branch so you have to expect a waiting list to be served. if it’s your first visit, you won’t be annoyed with the wait as you’ll be astonished with the ambience. their steak is the best i’ve tasted across different countries.
