novilhos brazilian steakhouse

i'm a big fan of the former ipanema and the current grill from ipanema in seattle. my husband raves about work lunches at novilhos so we went for his birthday dinner - using a groupon.
the food quality started off ok - but as the night went on, we seemed to get more and more portions of charred outside/raw inside steak. yuck. the same goes for the buffet. when we first arrived i had delicious mushroom risotto off the buffet - went back to get a bit more and it was a new helping, undercooked and just gross.
the waitstaff was attentive. the meat servers (forgive me for not knowing the right terminology) were hard to understand and often seemed annoyed if i said "pardon" when i didn't hear them the first time.
overall - it was a passable meal - the pork ribs were delicious - the rest was "meh" at best. the variety of meats was lacking, they often were bland or not cooked properly (burnt and raw) and the cheesesteak, which i'm guessing they are trying to copy from ipanema - was just a bad cut of beef coated in mozzarella. flavorless and bland. thisplacecosts just as much as ipanema and can't touch them in terms of quality. plus - no grilled pineapple, what's up with that?!

oh hell no. the reason i gave such a rating as i did, had little to do with the food, and everything to do with the service, and it wasn't even our server that was the problem.

so, the gathering was a friend's 30th birthday party. we showed up at 515pm, we were seated quickly, the food was solid, our server (thais) was nice and attentive, the meat servers were prompt, and no problem until we'd finished and the bill arrived. we were a party of seven people, two of whom married, so we were looking for six cheques. no we couldn't have the bill separated, so we had to do it ourselves. are you kidding me, for an 18% automatic gratuity, where most of us are spending 70+ dollars a head, and you can't do it for us? we had a physician, physical therapist, nuclear engineer and a statistician amongst our group of seven and it still took about 40 minutes to get it all sorted out. and to top that off, whilst we're waiting for our cards to return, the hostess was walking toward our table giving us the look of "it's time to get the f*** out", before she even had a chance to get the words out, i expressly told her, we've been here for 40 minutes trying to work out the situation in regards to the bill, give us a minute to get our cards back, grab our stuff and go. sufficed to say, it's not aplacei shall ever return to.

rude staff - don't. this is a spendy restaurant, and i heard it was pretty good. my sister and i had decided to make the special plan of coming for late lunch on sunday. the snotty waiter was put out that we didn't have a reservatoin (even though theplacewas half empty). strike, then he told us he would not honor an amazon voucher for lunch, which the voucher i had does not say. then after finding us a seat, asked us some snide question about tap water? strike three. we got up and left and my sister didn't get a nice lunch. word of advice: dont' use amazonlocal to advertise if you aren't going to honor the vouchers as they are printed.

great food at a good restaurant. great food. the service could be faster (go to brazil to find how quick they serve you there). but all in all, theplaceis good. recommended for anyone who loves steaks.

i really liked it. this was my first time at a brizallian steakhouse, and i really enjoyed it. although we had to wait about 10 min pass our reservation time, it wasn't that bad. we got a table by the kitchen, and usually i would not like that table, but in this restaurant, it's the first table out of the kitchen and you get the first choice. the salad bar is actually very good, not just your typical salad bar stuff, both cold and warm, everything was pretty good. the signature drink was very good, the rum and the citrus from the lime, cleanses your pallott a little while tasting all the different flavors of the food. as you start to see all the meat going pass and deciding what you want to eat, you can pick at random as they go pass or the best way to taste what you want is to, turn your card to "no thank you" and ask your server to have certain meats come to your table... extactly to your doneness. that way you want have to say no to chicken, if you want to try lamb first. every slice is just enough to get the full taste of the meat. the cheesy bread and fried bannas are very good...be careful not to get full. i do think it is a little pricey...$145, for 2 dinners and 2 drinks each, but i will go for the sunday lunch special... $27.00.each. the server was great and very attentive. the crowd is mixed, families, couples, friends,..... shotrs and sneckers, suits and ties. i saw some bad reviews and i think it should be given a second chance.
if your on a diet or feel fat easily.... don't go, because you will eat until your ready to burst.
lamb is great, beef rib is the best, prime rib is great. try a little bit of everything. thisplacegets 4 & 1/2 stars.

prices, please.... this was fantastic! the ambiance is very upscale. white table cloths, nice tables, great lighting were all nice touches. the food is all you can eat brazilian barbeque of many different cuts of meat, and a salad bar full of olives, nice cheeses, etc. my only problem with thisplacewas the fact that there are no prices listed-anywhere! not in the waiting area, not on the menus, nowhere in the dining room.
this was our first time here, and although our waiter was very nice and explained to us how the all you can eat restaurant worked, the only thing he gave us that had prices on it was the wine list. it was very weird to order, eat, and wonder the whole time what the cost was. it ended up being about $50 per person for the food which is pretty reasonable considering it was all you can eat beef, lamb, chicken and pork, as well as salad and other sides, but it would have been nice to know from the beginning and not wonder all night...

loved it. my boyfriend and i went here on a whim for dinner and were blown away. first, they did an awesome job on the interior of the restaurant. it is beautiful and modern. no traces of the old mexicanplaceleft. the salad bar was top notch and filled with delicious and original dishes. and it was just gorgeous! then the meat...wow. what an event. i think we tried just about each item from the menu and were not disappointed. the customer service was also great and we were made to feel very comfortable. we are already planning a return trip to celebrate a friend's birthday. i completely recommend this place. it's a bit pricey, but worth it.

mediocre at best. food was okay, i have to say i make a better filet mignon at home. salad bar was decent. waiter was sub par, claimed that bar was almost out of beer. huh? what kind of bar runs out oof beer, had to go direct to bar and order beer. the bartender said that the waiter should be ignored. it felt like waiter was trying to push us to order more expensive drinks. i did order some mixed drinks and it took forever to get them, though the bar did not appear to be that busy. i expect a better experience for the amount of money thisplacecost.

awesome!. friends took us here for my birthday this weekend and i have to say it is my new favorite restaurant by far! everything about thisplaceis awesome! eventhough its in factoria, you can look beyond that once you walk through the beautiful doors into this beautiful place! what's better than meat always coming to you? no downside here!

my favorite restaurant ever. this is the bestplaceever for a good meal. the food was excellent and the waiters were funny and friendly. it is a different experience than american dining and the authentic brazilian food is delicious. i plan on returning often. if you go, go hungry because there is so much to try.
