very good ramen!. me, and my husband and two young ones come here about once a week. we love the ramen here, i think its the best in edmonton. thats saying alot since my husband and 2yr old are very picky eaters, and hubby usually hates asian food. the service is stellar... every time we've went, every server has been very attentive, and very appreciative of our buisness.

i met the owner today thru mutual friends, and he is a very nice, down to earth guy with two little girls and is expecting another baby soon. he informed me that theres no msg in their soup, which makes me feel less guilty when i gobble up every last drop because their soup tastes so good. my two year old loves their chop chop cones. my only complaint is that he likes the food too much.. usualy he ends up eating his cone, mama's cone, and all of mama's noodles, so i end up having a meal of left over cone rice, and ramen soup lol.

we will definately continue to eat here.

don't waste your money. i've drove by this place many times, and have wondered what is this restaurant about and is the food anygood? so today i visited the restaurant. decor was very simple the server was professional and helpful. the food however was disappointing, knowing the specialty is ramen noodles i ordered the 'spicy miso' ramen which came out barely warm. the noodles were chewy and broth was too salty. next came the spicy tuna rolls..uhh the rice wasn't even sushi rice so i decided to pick at the grains there was absolutely no flavor seems like it wasn't seasoned at all. this place has no real chef, the sushi master looked very confused with even the plating..he arranged one simple salad several times. would not go back ever.

not bad, not great.. i tried this out a couple of months back with the wife and brother.

i had a the salmon carpachio and the mackerel roll in which they take a tourch and cook a bit of it at the table for you to see. brother had the curry rice plate and the wife had the ramen noodles.

the salmon carpachio was okay, it was tasty but nothing great. the mackerel roll was pretty good, i liked it but my brother says it's too fishy. my brother like they curry dish but wasn't too overly excited about it. the wife liked the ramen dish she got, she compared it to hong kong's ramen fast food places but it wasn't spectacular.

overall the food is just average not really great japanese food but not the worst. i have really bad japanese food before.

it really had no memorable qualities to it. nothing to make me want it again. the chicken was not crispy; more like spongy.

perfect supper. this is a great neighbourhood find for the south end... very good food, wonderful service, charming design (and extremely good bathroom). exactly what we wanted tonight, and we'll be back often.

i go to nomiya often. the food is excellent, very tasty. i have tried new things every time and have never been disappointed. their ramen is really good, my favorite being the tsuke men! they have regular specials that are worth trying too. would definitely recommend if you like japanese food of all styles as they are also doing sushis.

keep going back!. i discovered nomiya a little while ago and found myself craving the tsukemen on a scaringly regular basis.
the slices of pork served in this dish, and a few others on the menu is the best i've had in town.
some grilled black cod was the special of the day recently, once again, some of the best asian style food i've had in a while.

only fresh ingredients are used as far as i can tell, which to me, is the staple of privately own places.

perfect for a quick bite, friendly and caring staff.
i have been recommending it to all my friends.

authentic japanese. i've come here several times since it's opening. after living in japan for two years, i can declare that nomiya is the closest you can get to authentic japanese ramen in edmonton.

also, katsu curry and lunch bentos are excellent choices if you're not in the mood for noodles.

lots of flavour for your money. we went here yesterday for lunch (it is in fact open, not closed like the site says!). when this place opened a few months ago, we were dying to go because we both love japanese food, and packaged ramen is one of my boyfriend's favourite snacks.

when we walked in, there was quite a big line-up of all asians. immediately, we had a great feeling. the servers were all very friendly, and we got a table quickly because we were the only pair - the rest of the line was larger groups.

he had the shoyu ramen, i had the shio ramen. they were both very good! the broth was very flavourful and the items in the soup were well cooked. the noodles were definitely better than comes out of those tiny dried packages. for only $8.95 we left full and well satisfied. we are definitely returning in the near future to try out their bento box.

nomiya = not again. very disappointing. ramen soup was oily, unpleasant to look at, and ill-conceived. ginger served along side sushi was acrid and foul. only saving grace was the tropical roll. good combination of flavors but slightly over-priced.

the darkwood tables and minimalistic decor has a zen like feel to it, though it was marred by the air conditioner that was set on
