the ramen is especially good no matter what you pick. try something different each time.
the pork is fat, juicy, and tender. the soup is delicious and thenoodleshave perfect texture in the mouth.
you always feel so happy and great after eating there.

the dragon i are delicious and try any of the other sushi too it's well made and fresh.
please at least try it once and do not listen to anyone else!

i love ramen and have eaten different kinds of ramen all over japan. the crap that they serve here is blasphemy. it is nothing like real ramen!noodlesare not ramen noodles, tonkatsu broth smells and tastes like some some guy's armpit. please do not go here if you have eaten ramen in vancouver, you will be sorely disappointed. i will never come back here and will never recommend it to anyone.

nomiya. i love ramen and have only ever had the ramen so that is all i'm commenting on. thenoodlesand broth are quite good. atmosphere is clean and the service is pretty good.

the only complaint i have is that they've raised prices enough that i am reluctant to go anymore. they started at about $8/bowl of ramen last year but now it's $10 and i always get extranoodleswhich used to be $1 but now it's like $3 or $4. i don't think they are worth $14/bowl.

i now go to meguro ramen in chinatown - they are at around $8 a bowl and $1 for extra noodles!

very delish!. finally got to try nomiya last week. was rather busy around 730, which was a good sign. place is small but nice... the ac was on max!! we were seated immediately which is always good, but it seemed our waiter was the only one working. he was going as fast as possible but the guy can only do so much on his own. he brought us water quickly, but it took a bit for the tea (they ran out of tea pots apparently). however, the food was fantastic! thenoodleswere very good as was the broth. the sushi was very fresh and nicely presented. but the tapas were the highlight! the gyoza was very good but the chicken hearts and gizzards were outstanding!!! all in all, it was a good experience and i will be back again. hopefully they can have more than 1 waiter working on a sunday night

this was not my first time at nomiya but unfortunately for them it will be my last. i've said so many good things about this place and brought my grandma and aunt visiting from toronto to enjoy their ramen. their broth is good andnoodlesare cooked nicely. service was the usual until we were leaving. my grandma wanted to treat us so she paid for the tab in cash, putting down $140 in bills while tipping 14% pre-tax. our server ran after us complaining that we didn't tip them enough and demanded for more money. yep. you read that correctly. that really does happen. if only i could have been as rude as this server, i would have taken all the cash back and paid for the bill myself on a credit card and tipped nada...but lucky for this server i am not that rude.

the ramen and special maki rolls together makes it one of the best japanese spot in town.

rich flavored soup and consistence in qualities...special maki rolls are also a must try! also give the small rice bowl a try they are all pretty good

only downside if not all the food on the menu is good (unlike izakayatomo!)if you are debating to get the stir fry noodles(yaki soba), don't get it..its very soft and sticky , not like the chewynoodlesit should be at all:( the chicken karagge is also a mehh....i haven't try many other stuff on the menu but i suspect i should just stay with the sushi and ramen...

if you ever have a craving for ramen then nomiya in edmonton is the only place to go. i frequent nomiya pretty often, only bad thing is that it's kind of small (40seats) and located on the far southside. i will say this no other ramen in this city compares.

but i usually always get some chicken karaage and idaako karaage (baby octopus). nice and tender and crunchy. just wish it came with a sauce or something but nonetheless delicious. my girlfriend got their bento box with 3pcs nigiri, sashimi, rice, tempura and miso soup. all nicely made and formed and for $15, great value. but i always come for their ramen. they have quite a few varieties like tan tan, miso, seafood, shio and etc. but i always either get their spicy or tonkotsu ramen with a double portion of noodles. their broth is amazing, full bodied, flavourful and dense to say the least. it leaves a nice mouthfeel with each bite of noodles. and theirnoodlesare cooked perfectly (just past al dente). you get an assortment of toppings that all add their certain something. delicious melt in your mouth pork slices, sweet kernel corn, pickled bamboo shoots, a piece of nori and a healthy dose of green onions. and their price point is reasonable, no more then $10 - $13 as compared to other places. only thing lacking from their ramen is a nice soft boiled egg.

for me nomiya nails it, delicious ramen done right. other places should take note, for the time being nomiya still remains king in the yeg ramen game.

i always enjoy the ramen here and the service is always friendly. this time the waitress suggested i get extranoodleson my ramen to save money since my daughter always just gets ramen and broth. much appreciated. the sushi is pretty good but like most sushi places so far from the ocean, the selection is pretty limited. the beer and sake selection is quite decent and better than other places in edmonton. there might be better sushi in edmonton, but this is open for lunch and is kid friendly.

went to this ramen joint with a couple of my friends, my friends ordered the tan tan, spicy miso, shio and shoyu ramen, i myself got the seafood ramen. we also ordered the black dragon and dragon roll. my personal opinion about this place is that it’s one of the better (not the best) ramen place edmonton has to offer.

lets start off with the rolls, it was a little disappointing to me as the first touch from my chopsticks the rolls fell apart, it was very difficult to pick the pieces up. after the struggle of bringing a piece to my plate, the taste was alright, the black sesame sauce on the black dragon wasn’t too strong, which gave it a great touch. onto the ramen, the broth was a little salty for my seafood ramen, and the shrimp that came with the ramen still had the shell attached (personally i would rather it came without the shell, mostly because i’m lazy and don’t like peeling shrimp) which made it difficult to not make things messy. other than those two things, the ramen was pretty good, thenoodleswere very al dente, and the portions were enough to keep your tummy happy.

overall i would give this place a 3/5, i for sure will go back when i’m craving ramen, well...at least until i find a better place for ramen anyways.

craving ramen ?. this is the best ramen place that edmonton has to offer. of course it's not comparable to the ones i tried in vancouver but it's decent. i ordered the shio ramen, my favourite kind of ramen that i always get. the broth was creamy and rich and quite tasty, it wasn't salty or bland. thenoodleswere a bit too undercooked for my liking, if they were cooked a bit longer it would have been perfect. i was surprised that this ramen came with egg and corn, at other places i would have to pay extra to have these ingredients added to my ramen. it also came with slices of pork which was okay, but not as tender. i also tried the tonkotsu broth, it was a bit too sour for me. if you are looking for some decent ramen, i would recommend this place.

i have been to this place twice so far. the first time i came at lunch with my boyfriend and i ordered the make your own bento with saba - which was delicious, soba - which was awful and tasteless, could barely taste the ponzu, and the california roll which was amazing. the salad was decent and the miso was nothing special. my boyfriend had the katsu curry which we both really enjoyed however we both felt like they could have used way less rice and more carrots and potatoes. despite all that we decided to give it another try but during the dinner time. to our surprise when we came in they had an amazing happy hour menu that i was especially pleased with. we ordered the yam fries which were so amazing. the gyoza which was not bad. we also ordered the ramen which was disappointing as thenoodleswere undercooked and had absolutely no flavoring and were hard to chew. the service here was also mediocre as our ramen came last after a man received his before us even though we had ordered before him. and the server didn't really refill our waters. i don't believe i will be returning any time soon as i was disappointed by the food.

nomiya has always been my go-to place for a ramen or nigiri craving, and for good reason. nomiya features a great variety of ramen soups, from miso based broths to tonkotsu broths, where the pig bones are boiled for long periods, breaking down the collagen and creating it’s signature milky broth. their ramen dishes are also garnished nicely, often with fermented bamboo shoots, corn, nori , and slices of pork. thenoodlesare yellow tinged, chewy and springy, although do they use the samenoodlesin every ramen dish. different styles ofnoodlesshould be made to complement the different soups. the soups should be also been served hotter. the dish i opted for during that visit was the seafood ramen. nomiya offers a nice selection of nigiri sushi. the rice was loosely packed, allowing the the bed of rice to fall apart and mingle with the fish. oftentimes, in other sushi establishments, the rice was far too tightly packed with barely any air pockets between the grains. the fish was served

amazing ramen. i had heard of this place before and was eager to try it. i ordered the buta kakuni ramen which was fantastic. the broth was rich with flavor and the pork was tender with the perfect amount of fat to meat ratio. thenoodleswere plentiful and tasty. i only have one complaint which is the same as another reviewer, the broth could have been a lot hotter. i haven't had a lot of ramen so i'm not sure if the broth is supposed to be piping hot or not but i think i will ask for it to be hotter next time.

let's start by talking about the service: very friendly and kind made sure we were comfortable and were enjoying our meals. the wife and i ordered spicy miso ramen, tan tan, and small vegetable tempur a. both of our ramen were not very hot but the broth was rich and flavorful. thenoodleswere a tad bit over cooked for my preference. the one really sad thing was the soup was not very hot. i think next time we go we will ask to have the soup extra hot. they did make us tempura for lunch which was very good. the batter was light and amazing perfectly cooked insides. overall i would go back but as i said before i would ask that they make sure the soup is very hot and thenoodlesare a little more al dente. i would give this restaurant 7/10 being edm and all.
