had an amazingdinnerlast night! been always wanting to try this place because the gazebo area is beautiful, and perfect for dates. booked the gazebo for the 8:30pm schedule. we arrived 30 minutes late because of the manila traffic but i'm so glad they accommodated us, still.
though it rained last night, me and my date enjoyed the 7-course ninyo classics. (see updated menu in photo) at first, i thought we wouldn't be so full, because usually fine dining restaurants have small servings but boy, was i wrong. not to mention, our total bill was only p3300+ significantly cheaper than other fine dining restaurants i've dined, but for the same quality and experience. one of the best fine dining and romantic restaurants we've tried. they have a unique fusion selection of dishes. and because it's so gooood, i'm going to review them one by one.
we started off with their wasabi fried oysters, and it's easily one of the best bites i've ever had. the batter did not overpower the freshness of the oysters, and being that i love wasabi, i really appreciated how it was made here.
next, we had the pumpkin soup, and i love how it tasted like cheese, with the fried pumpkin inside. yum!
the shimeji salad was really good too. i loved the crispy tofu and the mushrooms! being a lover of mushrooms, this one hits the spot too.
for the mains, we had us hanging tender steak and honey miso salmon in one plate. i love how the sides really complement the entree. the salmon tasted like normal salmon, but with the miso sauce, vegetables, and wasabi mash, that one bite became one of the most interesting dishes i had of the year. the steak was really tender too.
for dessert, we had the mango pavlova and chocolate cake, which were really sweet endings, and a good pairing to our red wine.
personally, i would go back for those oysters and other entrees. the overall experience with the service, and everything else gains my 5-stars. it was worth the 2-hour drive. 💖
